Christmas Story

Wow, hasn't this month gone quick and we're nearly into March, but at least it's bringing better weather and I am enjoying the lovely sunny days we're having in this part of Blogland. I feel I should be showing you a nice spring card but instead I'm here with a christmas card.

It's pretty self explanatory...... a decoupage image from the House Mouse cd matted onto some gold card and that's it!

I'm entering this in the following challenges

February Rudolph Days challenge 'christmas'

Christmas With The Cuties challenge 'beginning with B' my B's are book and bauble

CD Sunday challenge 'anything goes'

Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas challenge 'anything goes christmas + option use some gold'

House Mouse & Friends Monday challenge 'anything goes + option weather'

Thanks for popping by today, your visit and comments are greatly appreciated. I'm off now to hang the washing on the line and then have a play with some long neglected stamps.

Hi everyone, well as you may have guessed from the post title I've got four cards to show you today so I'll try and keep the waffling on down to a minimum.

First up is a CAS card with a Penny Black stamp. I decided to leave the little hedgies black and white and used blue Promarkers to colour the hats, cake and present. Then I cut it with a TH die, matted onto some black card and then onto a coloured card blank and finally added a sentiment.

I'm heading over to the following challenges with this

Country View challenge 'black + white plus one'

As you Like It challenge 'favourite birthday or christmas and why'   well that definitely has to be birthdays as I find I'm more relaxed and have fun when making them as the christmas cards tend to get made in a mad rush

Papercraft challenge 'all the little critters'

I needed a little card to write a note to add to a parcel I was sending to my granddaughter yesterday and I'd got this Sugar Nellie image that I'd coloured a while back. Now you may notice the green Promarker mark that I managed to get on the right side so I'd just put it away thinking I may be able to fussy cut or something at a later date....... anyway I know my little Miss Cutie Pie (who's favourite colour is purple) isn't going to worry about such things so I just cut down a purple card blank, attached the image and also added a little butterfly die-cut from the leftover purple card before giving it a good winking and stickling.

This card is for the Words 2 Craft By challenge 'best friends'

Next up is something different for me and I'm really not sure what to think of it. I used a TH stencil and first off I used some purple inks but that defiinitely didn't work and Hubby suggested I use black ink. I stamped the sentiment on a thin strip of card and was going to cut it down but then decided to leave the strip the full width of the card. You'll have to use your imagination a bit with this as I just could not get the black and white to photograph well.

This is for AAA cards CAS challenge 'one corner + music'

And for my final card I decided to try something new and have a go at making a shadow box card. I found a how to video and after cutting the first piece of card it suddenly dawned on me that A4 card is not the same size as 8.5 x 11 inch card so after a bit of fiddling about with measurements I finally had my basic card pieces. At this point I had no idea of a design for my card but then I came across a box of LOTV topper (yes, those art pads that we just had to buy before they went out of production!) and this image seemed to work with the aperture I'd cut. No sentiment for the time being as although this is very spring/easter looking I think it would also make a lovely get well card too

I used some of my snippets of paper and card for this so I'm skipping over to see the Playmates at Pixie's Snippets Playground

Wow, you actually manged to stay to the end and I hope  haven't bored you too much. Thanks for your visit today and I hope you enjoy the rest of the week.

Star Twofer

Only 3 days since my last post and I'm back today with not one but two cards! That wasn't my intention but after already making a start on the first Darnell only went and posted the theme for the Twofer challenge which was 'stars'...... and yes you guessed it, I'd gone for stars on my card so I thought it would be rather rude of me not to make another and join in the fun.

So a closer look at my first card..... using Uniko stencil 'seeing stars' and Memento inks on a DO background, some tiny die cut stars, die-cut balloons and a Uniko sentiment stamp.

I've made this for

Uniko's 7th Birthday Linky Party 'create a birthday card'

Watercooler Wednesday 'all about occasions'

And for my Twofer... the same Uniko stencil, TH die-cut rectangle, die-cut christmas foliage, die-cut 'Joy' and another of those tiny die-cut stars. I had intended to use Gesso through the stencil for this one but the pot has been in the cupboard for so long that it had gone rock hard so I used Memento ink again.

I shall head over to

Addicted to Stamps and More challenge 'holidays'

Thanks for taking the time to visit today and for all your encouraging comments which I really appreciate. Before I go I'd just like to let you know that over on the Uniko challenge blog the wonderful owner Bev is having a HUGE prize giveaway.... and one you definitely won't want to miss.

Bright and Cheery

Hi everyone, hope all is well with you in whichever corner of Blogland you are.

I'm having a bit of a slow start to the year craftwise but I did have a bit of fun making this card using some of my old JOFY stamps coloured with my trusty Promarkers. I stamped and cut extra pieces so that I could layer up the flowers and large leaf and used a Sakura glaze pen to give them a bit of a pop. The image was cut with the largest hexagonal die I have and as I wanted to make a hexagonal card I had to hand cut the base and layers (so don't look to closely at the photo!) To finish I added a couple of embellishments from my stash. I think I may have to hunt down some larger hexgon dies as I rather like the card shape.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets' coloured card and white card for stamping

Stamping Sensations challenge 'all things bright and beautiful'

Penny Black and More challenge 'anything goes with the option of tags'

Passion for Promarkers challenge 'flora and fauna'

Edited to add: after a prompt from Mrs A I'm heading over to join the Butterfly challenge where the theme is 'spin the wheel with the letter K'

Thanks for popping by today and I hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend.
