Christmas Robin

I'm here today with a quick make christmas card. I love robins and this stamp called 'pretty perch' from Penny Black is my all time favourite. I coloured it with Promarkers, chalked the sky and added Stickles to the snow. The card base, image and matting layer from silver mirricard were all cut with QuicKutz nesting dies and to finish I added a sentiment from Uniko 'most wonderful' stamp set.

This one is a bit darker but I think it shows the 'glisten' in the snow better

I have quite a few challenges for this one so here goes

Penny Black and More challenge 'use your favourite stamp'
Stamping Sensations challenge 'animal magic'
Country View challenge 'time challenge 30 minutes or under'
Winter Wonderland challenge 'anything goes christmas - a tribute to Eileen'
Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas challenge 'anything goes christmas'
February Rudolph Days challenge 'anything goes christmas'
ABC Christmas challenge 'c for creatures, d for dimension'
Fab 'n' Funky challenge 'christmas'
Creative Corner challenge 'winter wonderland'
Ruber Dance challenge 'layers'

Thanks for popping by and for taking the time to leave a comment. Hope you all have a great day and I'll be round to visit you over the weekend

Best Friends Forever

Well I think I've completely lost the plot this week when it comes to what day of the week it is - I had a bit of a rush to finish this card for a challenge as I was convinced today was Saturday and now I realise it's only Friday!

I've used another of the fabulous sheets from the Joanna Sheen House Mouse Decoupage CD with some magazine freebie papers and ribbon and pearls to finish.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

CD Sunday challenge 'friendship, love and romance'

House Mouse & Friends Monday challenge 'give us a bow'

Thanks for popping by today and I hope you have a great weekend. I'm off now to enjoy the extra day I found!

Time Out GDT part 2

Hi everyone, I've lost a day somewhere this week and nearly forgot to schedule this post! It's another card for my GDT spot over at Time Out where there is a fabulous photo to give you inspiration for this fortnight's challenge.

I was inspired by the hot air ballons but as I own neither a stamp or die I had to improvise a little and used some circle dies to make them and embossed the larger two with a Craftwell folder. The background paper was a leftover piece I had lying around and I used a Clearly Besotted stamp for the sentiment, twisting it to follow the shape of the balloons.

and here's the inspiration photo

Thanks for popping by and I do hope you'll pop over and see all the fabulous creations the DT have made.

Magic Misti

I spent ages yesterday trying to make a card using one of my new stamp sets from Uniko called 'balloon bash' and I wanted to stamp the balloons in a light pink. Well of course it was going to be one of those days..... either I could just not get the right pressure and the image was too faint or I ended up smudging it, so after several attempts (which all went in the bin) I finally gave up.

Then today the postie delivered a Mini Misti which I'd won in the wonderful Darnell's NBUS challenge and I decided to have another go....... well, it was like magic. I couldn't believe just how easy peasy it was and in the matter of a few minutes I'd got the image stamped and after the addition of a Tattered Lace sentiment die, a piece of ribbon and a couple of gems I had a card. No more cursing, just oohs and aahs and a smile on my face. I can see this Misti will be getting a LOT of use, so THANK YOU again Darnell.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Uniko challenge 'happy 5th birthday Uniko'

Tuesday Throwdown challenge 'say it with words'

In The Pink challenge 'dies and/or punches'

Allsorts challenge 'anything goes'

Thanks for popping by today and I hope you have a good week.

More Love

Hi everyone and welcome to another weekend, and not too bad a one either.... the birds are chirping away quite happily and I can see some crocus flowering so hopefully spring is just around the corner.

Anyway I have another 'love' card to show you using a Penny Black 'valentine dance' stamp that I just bought in the sale. The heart was die-cut with an Xcut die and inlaid back into the negative part, then I tied a ribbon around the top before sticking to a coloured card base. I was going to use the Valentine's sentiment from the same set but as that day has already gone I decided to use a Uniko sentiment instead. Seeing the finished card now I do think it would have looked much better if I'd raised the heart up.

and here's a closer look at the inlaid heart

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge 'sketch'
Allsorts challenge 'anything goes'
Love To Scrap challenge 'you loves you, baby!'
CASology challenge 'romance'
Die Cut Divas challenge 'February is a month for using red or pink'
Penny Black Saturday challenge 'try something new' my new stamp
STAMPlorations CAS Card challenge 'anything CASgoes with optional colour twist hot pink'

As usual I started the week off with all good intentions but there really don't seem to be enough hours in the day to do everything I want to do and I still have a pile of new goodies I must have a play with. Thanks for popping by and I hope you have a fun weekend whatever you plan on doing.

Time Out GDT

Last month I was very honoured to be the top pick at Time Out challenges and was given the opportunity of a GDT spot, which I of course jumped at and I'm here today to share my card with you.

The theme for this fortnight is a photo inspiration and it is sponsored by STAMPlorations who are giving a $10 gift voucher to the lucky winner.

I used a Clearly Besotted stamp set 'in print' to stamp the fish and sentiment, a stencil for the air bubbles and a Memory Box 'big splash border' die. I also used some cutting circles to emboss the background a couple of times just to give it a bit more detail but it doesn't show up too well in the photo.

Here's the super photo.... as you can see there is so much in it to give you inspiration and I'll be back next Thursday with another card GDT card I've made.

I hope you'll be inspired to hop over and see what the very talented design team have created and join in with this super challenge.

Thanks for your visit today and for taking the time to leave a comment, I really do appreciate it.

Double the Love

Morning everyone, I hope you're all keeping fit and well and to those of you who aren't so good I hope you soon feel better. What a week I've had..... first off a poorly laptop (which I think hubby has finally managed to fix after having to take it all to bits) and two sessions of physio at the hospital, the second session was the first week of a gym ball group and I've been aching all over ever since - oh well only another four sessions to go!

I have managed to make a couple of valentine themed cards though and they were both very quick to make. On the first I used my NBUS Uniko stamp 'beautiful bloom 111' and as Santa didn't bring me a Misti for christmas the layers on the two flowers aren't stamped quite the same - but then flowers are all different aren't they! I fussy cut the flowers and cut hearts with Xcut heart nesting dies and also used the negative of a larger heart, layering them up and attaching them with sticky pads. The sentiment is also Uniko from the 'pure florals gerbera' set and I added a silver peel-off 'love' to the top heart.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Uniko challenge 'anything goes with an optional twist of love'
Country View challenge 'time challenge 30 minutes or under'
Time Out challenge 'inspired by words'
Allsorts challenge 'hearts and/or flowers'
Noor! Design challenge 'have a heart'
That's Crafty challenge 'I heart you'

My second card is a very CAS design using a fun Bugaboo image 'valentine bird' coloured with Promarkers and the sentiment is a Uniko stamp.

I shall enter this card in the following challenges

Passion For Promarkers ' I heart you'
Fab 'n' Funky challenge 'wild about you'
Art Impressions challenge 'lots of love'

Thanks for your vist today and if I haven't already caught up with you I shall be around to visit soon. Have a great weekend.

Mice and Pink

A quick post from me today as I'm having to use Hubby's computer while he's fixing mine.

My card features one of the adorable decoupage sheets from Joanna Sheen's House Mouse decoupage cd. I used a Cheery Lynn die to make the flowers and everything else is from my stash.

and here's one that just about shows the decoupage layers

I've made this for the following challenges

CD Sunday 'do what you love' - that's definitely decoupage!

In The Pink 'with love'

Fussy and Fancy Friday 'fussy and fancy'

Fab 'n' Funky 'birds'

Thanks for popping by today and I'll be around to catch up with you all soon.

NBUS and a Quick Snippet

A quick post for me today with a very quick and CAS card I made for a few challenges. I used NBUS goodies in the shape of a Woodware stamp called 'tulip doodle' which I paper pieced with some LOTV paper snippets and touched up with a red glittery gel pen. The sentiment (stamped in grey Memento ink) is from the same stamp set and I finished it off with some grey pearls from my stash.

So I'm hot-footing it over to join in with Darnell's NBUS challenge as this is the first outing for my stamp

and after that I'm skipping over to Pixie's Snippets Playground with my 'snippets'

Next stop is Allsorts challenge with the 'paper piecing'

Then on to Country View challenge with their 'time challenge 30 minutes or under'

and last but not least Rubber Dance Colour challenge 'green + pink + grey'

Thanks for popping by today and I hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend.

1st Birthday

It's my granddaughter's 1st birthday this month and I finally got her card made and in the post. It took me so long to get started on it as I just could not decide what image to use, but in the end I settled on an adorable Mo Manning fairy which I coloured with Promarkers and of course a generous helping of Stickles for her fairy wings. I wanted to make something a bit different so I went with a stepper card and as this is only the second time I've done one of these I did let out a sigh of relief when I'd finished!

The background paper is from Hobby House and the ribbon and dragonfly charm are from my stash. I used nesting dies from Xcut and Quickutz, the 'happy birthday' is Tattered Lace and the letters are Memory Box. I cut the sentiment and letters four times - colouring one of each to match the buttercup - before layering them up, and I hand cut the number 1 (must add number dies to my wish list).

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Allsorts challenge 'let's celebrate'  they are celebrating their 400th challenge!

Fussy and Fancy Friday challenge 'angels/fairies or winter'

DP2 challenge 'anything goes with a Mo image'

Thanks for popping by today and for taking the time to leave a comment........ oh, and do any of you have any idea where January disappeared to? It was there one minute then gone the next !
