New Stamps and a CASE

Evening everyone, hope you're all keeping well and warm. I was a very lucky girl and won Miss Di's super prize over at the Playground on Sunday and when this fabulous stamp set fell through the letterbox yesterday I had to set to and have a play with them. (Thank you again Di)

This is my very first set of Uniko stamps (called Gerbera) and it was really lovely to ink up and colour them with my usual Promarkers.  I stamped straight onto the card blank and then again onto another smaller piece of card. To do this and get the stamps to line up I first stamped the base, then I put a cello bag over it and placed the smaller card where I wanted it to go on top, then lined up with the first image and stamped again - I used a cello bag as that was the nearest clear thing to hand but vellum or acetate would do as well. After colouring the image I matted it onto silver mirri-card and then stuck it to the base card, being careful to line up the flowers. The sentiment is a Clearly Besotted stamp which I also matted onto a bit of mirri-card. Looking at the card now I think it may need a couple of pearls added to finish it off.

I shall enter this in the following challenges ~

Christmas Robin

It's the 25th and Rudolph Day is here again. I've gone for a CAS design on a 7 inch square card blank - which I managed to get from Hobbycraft thanks to Di (of the Playground) putting me on the right track. I've used my new Penny Black 'pretty perch' robin stamp which I coloured with Promarkers and added Stickles and Sakura clear glaze - although neither show up very well in the photo. I die cut the top with Memory Box 'grand merry christmas' and matted onto red card before sticking to the card blank.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

A Snippet of a Tag

This is turning out to be a really super day - this morning I had my first phone conversation with my granddaughter... okay it wasn't really a conversation but she did have a lot to say for herself making noises into the phone! AND I've just been over to the Playground and see that I won last weeks challenge so I'm doing a happy dance around the room at the moment.

Anyway I've been trying to get into the christmas spirit using some of my (never ending pile) of snippets to make a tag.  The dies I used are Marianne tag and sprig and Tattered Lace poinsettia (fastened with a brad) and holly leaves. with just a bit of ribbon, bakers twine and gems from my stash.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets'

Winter Wonderland challenge 'winter blossoms'

While I'm in the christmas mood I'm off to make my card ready for tomorrows' Rudolph Day challenge.

April Showers Bring Forth May Flowers

How quick did this week go? ... I think I must have blinked and missed a couple of days. I seem to have been very busy doing absolutely nothing and this morning I had every intention of popping round to visit you all but instead I was very naughty and went off for a crafty play.

There are quite a few water and spring themed challenges around at the moment so I set myself a challenge to try something different. I'm not quite sure what you will make of my card or even if I should be showing it to you at all, but hubby said he likes it.... so here goes.

I used Aquamarkers and watercolouring - painting the base card with some 'flowery' colours and a slightly smaller piece of card with blues for sky. After drying off the 'sky' card I used a Poppystamps 'blooming posie' die to cut flowers from it and then drew in some stems and leaves. I added gesso through a Memory Box 'mini dots' stencil for the 'rain' and then added a bit more blue with the Aquamarkers before sticking it on the base card.

All I can say in my defence is that at least I gave it a go!

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Mod Squad challenge 'water, water everywhere'

Poppystamps challenge 'splish splash!'

The Craft Barn challenge 'April showers'

Love To Create challenge 'anything goes mixed media'

Country View challenge 'spring'

Cuttlebug Mania challenge 'April showers'

The forecast here is for a dry weekend so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Hope you all have a fun weekend and I'll be around to see you soon.

Oh, and by the way if you are kind enough to leave a comment and get a 'mail undelivered' message, please ignore it. I do get all your comments (comment moderation is on) and I think it must be something to do with hotmail.

I've made another small card to use up some very old stash. Both papers are Pink Petticoat 'vintage rose collection (a magazine freebie), the image is Crafters Comapanion 'moonbeam meadow' (also a magazine freebie) coloured with Promarkers and cut with an Xcut nesting die, and the ribbon, roses and pearls are from my stash.

CD Sunday 6th Birthday Celebrations

Hi everyone. It's their 6th Birthday over at the CD Sunday Challenge and for this challenge only they are asking us to back link our favourite from all the cards / projects we have entered into any of their previous challenges.

My favourite card is quite a recent make which I posted on 2nd March this year and can be found in the post here.

I chose this because I love the vibrant colours and watercolour effect of this image which is from the Joanna Sheen 'Pamela West Collection volume 2 cd'. I think sometimes we neglect our CDs so to have such a successful CD challenge is a great thing.

Happy 6th Birthday  and wishing you all the best for many more to come

Chocolate Wrapper

The weekend is over and it's a pretty dull start to the week so fingers crossed the sun is only having a rest and plans to visit soon.

I had a couple of Memory Box 'prim poppies' die-cuts left from the other day and decided they would be the start for my 'play'. I also found a snippet of card which I stencilled with Memory Box 'texture chicken wire' and 'texture mini dots' and memento inks before adding the poppies. Then I made a wrapper / wallet / pouch (call it whatever you will) from an A4 sheet of hammered card to fit a bar of chocolate, attached the stencilled card and added some gems to finish.

This is such an easy make and one of my favourite non-card creations as it makes a little gift of a bar of chocolate into something a bit more special and personal. It can be decorated as you wish or a left a CAS design (like this one) to suit the recipient.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets'

Memory Box challenge 'anything but a card'

As You Like It challenge 'favourite non-card project and why'

Thanks for taking the time to pop by today.

Girly and Pearly

Just popping by with a card I made for a few challenges using one of the older LOTV fairies which I coloured with Promarkers. I outlined the wings and dress with a Sakura glitter pen and also went over the flowers with a Sakura clear glaze pen before attaching the image to the base card with sticky pads. The sentiment is a Clearly Besotted stamp and I made the flowers from some snippets of DPs using Poppystamps 'blooming posie' with Stickles added to the centres. The lace, ribbon and pearls are from my stash.

The top photo is a tad dark so here's another which shows the glitter a little better but you still can't really see the glaze on the flowers.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Penny Black and More challenge 'birthdays'
Stamping Sensations challenge 'one for the girls'

Happy Little Stampers Mixed Media challenge 'wings'
Passion for Promarkers challenge 'bingo board' 3 lines - ribbon / image / sentiment - flowers / image / pearls - flowers / sentiment / die cuts

Thanks for popping by and I hope you all have a great weekend.

Poppy Snippets

You know when you buy something crafty and think that it's so fabulous that you are certain to use it all the time but then never do.... well that's what happened with this Memory Box 'prim poppy' die. I bought it back in 2012 and this is only it's second outing, so when looking through the folder deciding what die to use for my card I felt rather guilty when my eyes rested on it.

I  made this card entirely from snippets of card - hence the small size (about 3 x 4 inches) and design - with just the addition of a couple of gems.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets'

Creative Inspirations challenge 'your favourite things'  they just have to be dies and gems

Penny Black Poppies

The sun has been making a few appearances of late, my Dad is out of hospital and doing pretty well, and I'm feeling much better now.... so fingers crossed all the good stuff continues.

This is a new Penny Black stamp I treated myself to called 'Poppy Gems' which I loved playing with and I know will be one of my favourites. I coloured with Promarkers and then cut down to fit a 4x6 inch card blank. The sentiment is a Clearly Besotted stamp and I wrapped some Baker's Twine around the card to finish. After looking at the photo I think it may look better if I add some glossy accents or tiny black beads to the poppy centres.... what do you think?

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Penny Black and More challenge 'birthdays'

Lawnscaping challenge 'beautiful florals'

Butterfly and Fuchsia

Hi everyone and thanks to you all for all your get well wishes for me and my Dad. The antibiotics have started to kick in and I even managed to make a card yesterday.

I've used another Clearly Besotted stamp which was a magazine freebie. The leaf is a solid die and I coloured the flowers with Promarkers and hand cut them before attaching with glue dots. Then I stamped the sentiment which is also Clearly Besotted and layered up onto some white card and then the 5 x 5 inch base card. The die-cut butterfly is from All Occasion Dies - it looks a little purple in the photo but is actually coloured with a fuchsia pink Promarker. I much prefer this card to my last post although those fuchsias did keep moving about before finally being stuck in place!

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Butterfly challenge 'F for fancy folds and fuchsia colour' (didn't manage the two this time)

Lawnscaping challenge 'beautiful florals' (2nd entry)

Noor Design UK challenge 'anything goes'

Fussy and Fancy Friday challenge 'green and pink'

Thanks for your continued visits and supportive comments. I'll hopefully start catching up with you all over the weekend.

Clearly Besotted Rose

I'm sorry I've not been around to visit for the past week but Dad was readmitted to hospital and I've not been feeling too great either, so pretty much running on empty and only switched on the laptop to send a few emails. I managed to get a doctor's appointment today and now I'm on a course of antibiotics so hopefully I'll soon be feeling a bit more human!

This card is one I made over the easter weekend using paper from my snippets box and a Clearly Besotted stamp. I know it must be me but I find it very hard to get a good clean stamped image with the Clearly Besotted solid stamps, so I used a Sakura pen for the white lines before hand cutting and attaching with sticky pads. I added some gems and a peel-off sentiment from my stash to finish, but must admit I'm not at all happy with the finished card - so possibly probably destined for the bin.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets'

Penny Black and More challenge 'birthdays'

Stamping Sensations challenge 'one for the girls'

I'm also entering this in Lawnscaping challenge 'beautiful florals'

Thanks for taking the time to pop by and I'll catch up with you as soon as I can so please don't think I'm ignoring you if I don't get back to visit you straight away.
