Butterfly and Blossoms

Hi everyone, hope you're all okay and well 'choccie filled' after the long weekend. I've been having a play with some of my Memory Box dies - fresh foliage, fancy blossoms, fabulous phlox and baptisia collage. The flowers and foliage were given a good coating of Tattered Angels glimmer glaze and the baptisia collage was used on a snippet I had left over from a 12 inch paper. I used a 5 inch square base card and a butterfly and gems from my stash to finish.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Butterfly challenge 'butterfly and M for margins and mint'

Memory Box challenge 'blossoms and bunnies'

Allsorts challenge 'wings' (2nd entry)

Thanks for your visit and for taking the time to leave a comment. I really do appreciate it.

Crazy Bird and an Easter Bunny !

I needed a birthday card for a male and as I'd left it until last minute I also needed to make it quick to get it posted off. So as I was sat with my mind a complete blank wondering where on earth my Mojo was hiding, one of those Tim Holtz 'Crazy birds' flew by and landed on the table. I'd already stamped and coloured it with Promarkers before cutting with the matching die so all I needed to do was raid the snippet box of pieces of Core'dinations cardstock for die-cutting the Memory Box 'happy birthday' and hand cut some balloons. I tied some baker's twine around the balloons and attached them and the bird to the card with some sticky pads. Finally I gave the bird a pair of googly eyes.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets'
Allsorts challenge 'wings'
Penny Black and More challenge 'feature a creature'
Stamping Smiles Designs challenge 'tic-tac-toe' (celebrate / clean and simple / critters)

Before I go I'd like to show you the photo my daughter sent me of her little easter bunny... you can't help but laugh and definitely one for the Granny album don't you think?

The sun keeps popping out here so fingers crossed for a dry day. We're off to spend a bit of time with Dad then I'll be round to visit you later.

March Rudolph Day

Hi everyone and a very warm welcome to my new follower Anne of Learning to Jive. I hope you're all enjoying the long weekend and have a good supply of choccie eggs.

Yesterday saw the start of another Rudolph Day challenge and besides being good Friday it was also Lady Day which prior to 1752 was the first day of the new year in England. So after that piece of useless information (unless of course it happens to come up in a pub quiz) here's my card. It's yet another quick and CAS make using a Joanna Sheen decoupage sheet 'Giordano Christmas' which I'd cut out and made up some time ago, along with a snippet of paper and a sentiment from my stash.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

March Rudolph Days challenge 'christmas'
Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas challenge 'use a sentiment'
Sparkles Christmas challenge 'an old fashioned christmas'

It's quite dull and chilly here but I'm hoping to have a relaxing weekend with my Promarkers and some stamped images at the side of me. Thanks for popping by and I hope you have a great weekend whatever you're up to.

Penguin fun

All my cards seem to be very CAS at the moment and I'm also being good and using old stash and snippets. This super digi called 'penguin fun' is from Di's Digi Designs and I coloured it with Promarkers and added Stickles for the sparkle. I used a couple of bits of red holographic card with the join hidden behind the image and finished it off with a sentiment recyled from an old card.

and here's one showing the sparkle a bit better

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Winter Wonderland challenge 'penguins'
Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas challenge 'cute or anything goes'
That's Crafty challenge 'red and green'
Stamping Smiles designs Tic-Tac-Toe challenge 'bingo' (celebrate / clan and simple / critters)

Sorry if I'm not around to visit much at the moment but Dad is still in hospital so we're chasing about a bit and I just can't seem to get myself organised (what's new you may ask!)

Butterflies and B

Hi everyone, I'm just fluttering by with a card I've made for Mrs A's Butterfly challenge where this fortnight she's given us buttons and bronze to play with along with our butterflies and I'm also skipping over to Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge as I used snippets of card for my die-cuts.

My mojo is playing hide and seek just lately and so my card is a very simple CAS design using a Designs By Ryn 'gingko' stencil for the background, Spellbinders opulent oval and QuicKutz nesting dies and a Clearly Besotted sentiment stamp. I was the very lucky winner of the last Butterfly challenge and in the fabulous bag of goodies I received were some of these lovely wooden button butterflies that I've used on my card. Thanks again Mrs A for the wonderful goodies.

It's a lovely warm and sunny day here and it really lifts the spirits. Hope it's as good where you are and you're having a great weekend.

Rainbow Birthday

Hi everyone and thanks so much for all your get well wishes for my Dad. It looks like he'll be in hospital for a few days longer yet but he is getting better.

So onto my card which is yet another CAS design. The image is Bugaboo 'Theodore birthday sign' which to me screamed out for bright and cheery colours so out came the Promarker rainbow colours - red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. The teds' hat and the present look blue in the photo but are actually purple. Then all I did was add 3 pieces of bright ribbon to finish off before attaching to a red card blank.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Catch The Bug challenge 'bright and cheery'
Mod Squad challenge 'the rainbow connection'
Cupcake Inspiration challenge 'colours / theme rainbow'
Dream Valley challenge 'all about birthdays'
Passion for Promarkers challenge 'childs birthday'
Crafting Musketeers challenge 'use 3 ribbons'

Mousey Get Well Wishes

I thought things were going so well on Sunday night and I was all set to start playing with some new goodies but my Dad was rushed into hospital and that put an end to all my plans! He's quite settled now, in good spirits chatting with everyone and knitting scarves and hopefully will be home again soon.

I have put together a couple of very simple cards using images I'd already got printed off from the Joanna Sheen 'House Mouse' cd and old bits of stash.

I shall enter these in the following challenges

House Mouse and Friends Monday challenge 'pastels'
Gruffies & Guests challenge 'flowers'
Allsorts challenge 'spring is in the air'
The Ribbon Girl Card challenge 'spring / easter or anything goes'
Whimsy Stamps challenge 'spring colours or easter'

Thanks for popping by and for all your lovely comments. Please don't think I'm ignoring you if I don't get by to visit only we're back and forth to the hospital at the moment and I have no idea why, but sitting in hospitals makes me feel so tired.

Teddy Snippets

Hi everyone and a big welcome to my newest follower Karen of 'Karens Kreative Kards' Thanks for taking the time to join me in my little corner of Blogland.

It's a gorgous spring day here and I've been a busy little bee today... cleaning, shopping and I managed to get a card made too. I've had this little LOTV teddy stamped for quite a while but only just got around to colouring him - with my usual Promarkers of course and with a little Stickles added to the flowers. I used only snippets for this card - Hunkydory papers, the last little bit of ribbon and white card for stamping, matting and the Cheery Lynn die-cut flowers. Then all I had to add was some pink gems and job done.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets'
Penny Black and More challenge 'feature a creature'
In The Pink challenge 'for a special lady'
Digi Designs challenge 'lots of layers'

Thanks for popping by today and I hope you enjoy what's left of the weekend.

NBUS and Snippets

Before christmas I bought a sheet of unmounted rubber stamps called 'Texture' from Designs By Ryn which was bought only because I'd seen those wonderful water droplets on so many cards around Blogland and of course I 'had' to have them (you know what I mean). The stamps duly arrived and I realised I'd run out of cling foam so my fingers toddled off to the shops to order some... oh and don't forget the Tim Holtz non-stick scissors necessary for the cutting out ! So by the time stamps were mounted and cut I realised that I had a complete mental block as this was definitely not my normal sort of stamp...and they duly got put in the cupboard.

As you are probably aware the lovely Darnell is hosting another of her fabulous NBUS challenges where she wants us to use our Never-Before-Used Schtuff so I thought it was a good time to get said stamps out of the cupboard and try to create something. For my first attempt I've gone for a very simple design using the 'fish scales' stamp and another NBUS item - an Impression Obsession 'gingko leaf' die and added a couple of gems and a peel-off sentiment to finish. It does't show up too well in the photo but the image and dies are attached with foam pads and the card is not mustardy but an orangey yellow.

I'm off to join in the fun at Darnell's NBUS challenge

and as I only used scraps of card which were lying around on my table I'm also off to Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge where you have to use your snippets to join in the fun.

I'm also heading over to a couple more challenges

Scrapy Land challenge 'anything goes with a brand of die that Scrapy Land sells'

and Designs By Ryn March customer creation challenge

Thanks for taking the time to pop by and  for all your lovely comments

Bugaboo Birthday

Hi everyone and a Happy Mothers Day to all you moms out there. I had all good intentions of doing some very necessary housework this morning but got sidetracked in my crafty room resulting in this card.

I used a Bugaboo digistamp 'frame it - bears birthday' which I coloured with my usual Promarkers. I was toying with the idea of soft pastels but in the end the cheery bright colours won, as did the red card blank. To finish, all that was needed were gold peel-offs from my stash and a die-cut star.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Mod Squad challenge 'feature a creature'

I Love Promarkers challenge 'use a number'

Catch The Bug challenge 'anything goes'

bastel-traum challenge 'birthday'

Noor! Design UK challenge 'clean and simple'

Thanks for popping by today and all your lovely comments. I'll be around to visit you as soon as I've flicked around with the duster. I love the sunshine but don't you just hate the way it shows up every speck of dust you've been trying to convince yourself doesn't exist !

NBUS challenge #6

I'm sure you will have noticed that Darnell is holding another of her fabulous NBUS (Never Before Used Schtuff) challenges and of course I was spoilt for choice over which of my unused crafty goodies was actually going to see the light of day. I finally settled on quite a recent purchase that was added to the basket so that I'd get free postage (I'm sure a lot most of you have done that) and not what I'd normally buy.

My NBUS is a stencil from That Special Touch called 'flower and butterfly' and this is the first time I've had a go at stencilling the focal image of a card. I used Memento inks and I matted the image onto some coloured card and then onto the card blank. The stencilled butterfly looked odd and luckily I had one in my stash about the same size that I could stick on top to hide it - it looks like a shadow behind so I managed to get away with that!

So I'm heading over to join in Darnell's NBUS challenge

I'm also entering this in

Simon Says Monday challenge 'take a leap into the unknown

That's Crafty challenge 'stencils and masks'

Less is More challenge 'colour week - citrus'

Thanks for popping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend.

I've made a card to combine a few challenges and follow a sketch, as well as using up a bits and bobs I had lying around. The image is a Hobby House Wee Stamps topper called 'Spring Bringer' which I matted onto a Spellbinder 'opulent oval' cut from mirri-card. The snippets of background DP is Pink Petticoat, also matted onto mirri-card and I made the flowers using Poppystamps 'blooming posie' die with Stickles in the centres. I finished off with ribbon and card candi from my stash.

Butterfly and G

I'm here with my card for Mrs A's butterfly challenge and this fortnight she wants us to use the letter G for glitter and the colour grape. It's another quick and CAS make and I'm rather pleased with how it turned out - probably more because of the colours.

I used an image from the Joanna Sheen 'Pamela West collection volume 2 cd' and after a search through my snippets box found 2 pieces of Core'dinations cardstock - one just long enough to fit down the card and the other just enough to die-cut 2 Cheery Lynn butterflies. So that took care of the 'grape' and for the 'glitter' I added Stickles and gems on the butterflies. Finally I stamped the Clearly Besotted 'thank you' sentiment.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Butterfly challenge 'butterfly and G for glitter and grape'

Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets'

CD Sunday challenge 'thank you'

Thanks for you continued visits and your lovely comment, they are all greatly appreciated.
