Another Rudolph Day

Nearly another month over and the big panic is getting nearer.

I've got another christmas card made with one of the fabulous Joanna Sheen 'Giordano Christmas' decoupage sheets and a raid of the snippets box. Said snippets are the spotty paper and a piece of glossy photo paper for the Tattered Lace holly die which I coloured with Promarkers and some red Stickles. To finish I added a sentiment from my stash.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas challenge 'stick it down'
Papertake Weekly challenge 'it will soon be here - christmas'
Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets'
Rudolph challenge 'christmas'
Winter Wonderland challenge 'traditional christmas'
Through the Craftroom Door challenge 'anything goes'

We woke up to a very misty morning but it's cleared to give us a lovely sunny and warm day so I think it's time to go and spend some time outdoors. Hope you all enjoy the rest of the weekend.

A Snippet of a Card

Just popping by this evening with a card made entirely from snippets.... Leftover white card for the base, Hunkydory and My Minds Eye papers, and also a snippet of Neenah card for stamping the Clearly Besotted flower which I coloured with Promarkers and cut with the matching die. I faux sewed around the edge of the circle with a gel pen.

So a quick and easy small card ideal for including with a gift or just for sending a little note

60th Birthday

Hi everyone. Firstly apologies again for not having been to visit for the past few days but life really does have an annoying habit of getting in the way of blogging.

This is a card I made for a 60th birthday using an image from a LOTV artpad, Hunkydory flowers, silver peel-offs and some gems. The plain paper is LOTV and the spotted paper is one of my snippets (probably a magazine freebie).

Covered Notepad

Hi everyone and first off I'd like to say a big welcome to my new follower Kevin of McCrafty's Cards. The internet connection has been a bit iffy (technical term) so please excuse me for not having got back to see you all over the last couple of days.

When I went in our local Sainsburys last week I spied some notepads being sold off at the bargain price of 20p each so of course had to put a few in my trolley. This is an A7 size so not too big a job to cover and I went for an autumnal theme for my first play.

I stencilled the card intended for the cover with Memory Box stencil 'texture brilliant' and an assortment of inks, snipped it by hand so that I could put it through the wired top and then tied some yarn (that had been bought for a crochet project) around it. One of my favourite dies is the Memory Box 'chloe stem' as it's so versatile - use it as a single stem, in clusters, add pearls and so on - so I always have a few cut in white card ready for use and I just coloured a couple of them with Promarkers and trimmed to fit behind some flowers with a button added to the centre. Finally I added a couple of butterflies. So all in all just a bit of fun with snippets and stash.

and a close up to show the butterflies a bit better

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Christmas Tree Box

Just popping by with a quick post  to show you another decorated kraft box.

I used snippets of paper to cover the lid and decorated it with a die cut star, ribbon (both snippets) and some gems. As the lid was quite tight fitting I decided to stencil the base. I thought it would be great to fill with a few chocolate coins or a little gift.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Some Mousey NBUS

On Wednesday my card was made using my oldest NBUS stamp and today I'm using my newest NBUS stamp to make another visit to Darnell's Playhouse. There's still a week left for you to sort out your unused crafty schtuff and join in the fun, and as a huge bonus she has a lot of very generous sponsors lined up too.

I received this wonderful House Mouse 'watermelon mice' along with some fabulous candy sent to me by the lovely Lols  (Thank you again for the super goodies) and no way was it going into the cupboard before being inked up. I used my usual Promarkers for colouring and papers which were magazine freebies. The design is kept simple and I decided to keep it sentiment-free to be used for any occasion.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Darnell's NBUS challenge #5 'use your never-before-used-schtuff'

Simon Says STAMPtember challenge 'use a stamp + blog hop'

House Mouse & Friends Monday challenge 'back to school / anything goes'

Thanks so much for popping by today and for taking the time to leave your greatly appreciated comments

Another day and another forage into my pile of NBUS to join in again with the fun over at Darnell's Playhouse.

This LOTV stamp called 'present trio' has been hiding in the cupboard uninked for well over a year (hang my head in shame) so definitely time for an outing. I used my usual Promarkers to colour these little bears and cut and layered each image onto a Marianne Creatables die. The papers are from Dovecraft and Hunkydory and I added gems, ribbon and brad from my stash. The papers, card and ribbon are all snippets so I'll also be having my last play of the week over at the Playground.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Darnell's NBUS challenge #5 'use your never-before-used-schtuff'

Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use your snippets'

Penny Black and More challenge 'anything goes - with hand stamping'

Good Morning to you all and even though the weather may not be smiling on us I reckon it's going to be a day full of fun as Darnell has opened up the door to her Playhouse and is inviting us to take part in her Fifth NBUS challenge which runs up until 11.55 pm PST on 18 September 2015.... And she has lined up the most amazing sponsors too

Darnell had made a fabulous card which you can see here using Memory Box dies using 'Pine border outline' and also the backing die, As soon as I saw it I remembered I had the very same NBUS MB outline die stashed away in the cupboard and knew that I would have to use it for this challenge.

My card is a pre-cut base layered with a piece of gold mirri-card and as I only have the outline die and not the backing die I thought it would be best to cut the trees 3 times with the white being the backing so that I could inlay the gold and green. Now it wasn't until I'd actually cut the die that I realised how tiny some of the bits were and was so glad that I'd at least remembered to first attatch the card to a 'stick-it' sheet. After (finally) managing to piece it together I was not going to risk stamping the sentiment so after a rummage I found a gold peel-off to use.

When I looked at the leftover bits of card the negative bit of green card looked quite straight so I decided to make a tag using the white outline and a snippet of hammered effect card. The (positive) green tree outline has been put away for a later project and the other bits went in the bin!

I shall enter these in the following challenges

Darnells' NBUS challenge #5 (use your never-before-used-schtuff)

Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use up your snippets' this is my second skip over to play

Less Is More Colour challenge 'green & gold'  the card

Sparkles Christmas challenge 'oh christmas tree'

and I'm also paying my last visit to Cuttlebug Mania challenge  ' Anything goes'

Thanks for popping by today and I will probably be seeing a lot of you in Darnell's Playhouse or over in Pixie's Playground.

Butterfly.... and A for Archway

Mrs A's Butterfly challenge really taxed my brain this fortnight and I almost gave up but when sorting through some toppers I found one from The Hobby House and it has the required A for 'archway'.

I fussy cut the topper to show the archway off a bit better and layered it onto a Marianne Design 'circlet' die. The paper is from Prima 'fairy belle' collection and the ribbon. flowers. butterfly and silver peel-off corners are from my stash. I used a Sakura glitter glaze pen for highlighting on the topper.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Butterfly challenge 'butterfly + A is for archway'
Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets' die cut from a snippet of card
Allsorts challenge 'lots of layers'

Yo Ho Ho... and a Snippet of a Pirates Life

You can tell it's been a bank holiday weekend as I'm running a day behind and should have posted this yesterday.... but better late than never. I recently was a lucky winner over at Words 2 Scrap By and was also invited to be a guest designer for their September challenge which has the theme "Ahoy Matey" in honour of September 19th 'Talk Like a Pirate Day'

I have nothing in my craft cupboard which is remotely piratey so I had a quick google for a pirate ship image and found one which I put together from snippets of card. The sky is a snippet of LOTV paper and I used Tonic sculptured edge scissors to cut the sea from more snippets of card. Finally I added the 'yo ho ho' which was die-cut using the Memory Box 'classic lowercase alphabet' also from snippets. Each of the black sails is cut separately but it doesn't show too well in the photo.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets' popping back for my 2nd visit
Cuttlebug Mania challenge 'anything goes'
Papertake Weekly challenge 'anything goes + option recycle / upcycle'
