Doodling with Sarntangles

Here we are at the weekend again and at the end of another month too. I hate how time flies so quickly but I am looking forward to the spring coming.

Anyways I am here with a card I made using a Sarntangle stamp. These 'doodled tangle' stamps are a limited edition set and you can read more about them on Sarn's blog.  (They stamp wonderfully and I would definitely recommend them.) I used Promarkers to colour the image and went over the outline with a purple glitter pen before mounting onto purple card. The stamp was intentionally attached to the card upside down as the beauty of these stamps is that you can use your imagination and let them be whatever you want. I used some ribbon and a couple of pearls from my stash and finished it off with a Clearly Besotted sentiment stamp.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

That's Crafty challenge 'oodles of doodles'
Papertake Weekly challenge 'take your pick - colour theme cool colours' (my 2nd entry)
Party Time Tuesday challenge 'anything goes' (my 2nd entry)
Simon Says Monday challenge 'anything goes' (my 2nd entry)
Simon Says Wednesday challenge 'anything goes' (my 2nd entry)
Top Tip Tuesday challenge 'rubber stamps only' (my 2nd entry)

Thanks for popping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Krafty Juggler

First of all I'd like to extend a warm welcome to my new followers and thank you for taking the time to visit me.

Just a quick post from me while hubby is out fetching my Dad home from hospital. Dad's been in since the weekend and while the antibiotics have been kicking in he's been sat there quite happy with his knitting making thing for the nurses. I bet he'll be wanting to go shopping tomorrow to buy more wool !!

But on to my card... this is based on the first christmas card I made this year. The stamp is Clearly Besotted 'rockin robin' which was cut with the matching die. I liked the first card but this time I decided to go for white card mounted on a kraft base and added some punched kraft snowflakes for the robin to 'juggle'

I'm entering this in the following challenges

Rudolph Days challenge 'anything goes christmas'
Papertake Weekly challenge 'take your pick' (I went for the product - use kraft)
Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas challenge 'feature a creature'
Winter Wonderland challenge 'krafty creations'
Party Time Tuesdays challenge 'anything goes'
Simon Says Wednesday challenge 'anything goes'

Thanks for taking the time to pop by and for all your lovely comments.

Stencil and Stamp

Hi everyone. I'm here today with an experimental card I made. I wanted to do something a bit cheerful so I got out some of my NBUS (which for those who haven't come across Darnell's terminology means Never-Before-Used-Schtuff).

I stamped Clearly Besotted 'brushed poppies' with Memento inks and then I went to cut it down to fit a 4x6 inch card and that was where I made a BIG mistake.... I am so used to using my Woodware paper cutter but the new blade I got for it will not cut anywhere near straight so I got out my new Fiskars cutter which cuts in the middle of the plastic strip and not on the edge, and as you probably guessed I cut straight throught the poppies!! This is when I thought I would just mask off the poppies and try the Memory Box 'mesh' stencil out. I liked the result so instead of starting again I decided to go with the 'off the page' look. Next I was going to use a white card base but then I found this orangey yellow card in my stash which really made the whole thing 'zing'.

I shall enter this in the following challenges -

Craft Stamper Take It Make It challenge 'stencilling'
Penny Black and More challenge 'anything goes except a digi'
Stamping Sensations challenge 'anything goes'
Addicted to Stamps challenge 'make your mark'

Good Luck Snippets

Evening all, I hope you had a great weekend and are ready to make the most of this last week of February.

Just a quick post from me this evening to show you a card I made with the snippets of paper I had left over after making some other cards (yet to be posted) plus a couple of Hunkydory butterflies and a sentiment left from a decoupage sheet. The size of the paper snippets determined the design - I just moved them around until it looked right. It was so quick to make and I'm quite pleased with the result.

So now I'm off to join in the fun over at Pixie's Playground where you're challenged to use up your 'snippets'

Thanks for popping by and I hope you have a good week.

Rosey Birthday

I'm being very good using up my old stash and have another card to show you today. This is another pearlescent card base with the other half of a Hunkydory notelet card. It's a very quick and simple design just addding a snipet of ribbon, some Hunkydory roses and gold peel-offs on a die-cut circle. How easy was that?!

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Papertake Weekly challenge 'bingo' - ribbon / free / blooms
Cute Card Thursday challenge 'floral delight'
Scrap & Craft challenge 'birthday'

I'm having fun doing this as I'm determined to only use stuff from my stash and the finished cards will all go to charity.
Thanks for popping by to take a look and I hope you will watch this space for the next one.....

Anniversary and Snippets

Hi everyone, firstly apologies for not being around this last week but life has been a bit of a pest and got in the way of blogging.

I've made a promise to myself to use up some of my (very) old stash and first of all I pulled some 5 inch square pearlescent base cards out of the cupboard - they have been there for years!!  There are 10 in total so you can expect to see a few CAS designs with the use of many snippets and other bits from my stash.

So here's the first card I've made....
I had some small Hunkydory notelet bases which I cut in half (the striped card) and stuck to the base card. Then I added Cheery Lynn 'fanciful flourish' and 'miniature rose' dies with a Dovecraft punched 'daisy' and pearl centre. The sentiment was done on the computer and cut with a Marianne die and finally I added a Hunkydory butterfly.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Allsorts challenge 'any occasion other than birthday'
The ABC challenge 'D is for die-cuts'

Thanks for taking the time to pop by and for all your comments, I really do appreciate it.

CAS Wedding

I had been struggling to come up with an idea for a CAS pink + grey card so decided to start on a LOTV + charm card and when I was looking through my LOTV toppers I found this wedding one with pink + grey. I do prefer making CAS style cards but this is still a bit different for me as it is a very CAS wedding card without a bow, flower or pearl in sight and I even resisted the temptation to add some Stickles. I would be really interested to know what you think of it as I haven't quite made my mind up.

The only grey item I had in my stash apart from Memento ink was this snippet of ribbon (that had originally meant to hold a top in place on a coat hanger - I always cut those out and store them in my ribbon box just in case) It is a bit darker than I would have liked but at least it matches the grooms hat band. I used Xcut nesting dies to cut and layer the image and found a snippet of pink spotty paper which needed no trimming. The Clearly Besotted sentiment was stamped in grey ink and the only embellishment is the little heart charm.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Less Is More challenge 'pink and grey'
The Ribbon Girl challenge 'LOTV + it's charming'
Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets' (my 3rd entry - gotta reduce my snippets pile)
As You Like It challenge 'favourite CAS or fussy'
Die Cut Divas challenge 'words, quotes and sentiments'

Fluttering by with Ribbon

Hi everyone, I'm fluttering by today with a CAS card made with snippets and bits and bobs from my stash. I used white linen card for the base and Marianne Creatables for the shapes die-cut from snippets of card. The silver die is actually a large snowflake but I think it looks much better creased up to add depth and used as a doiley. The butterfly matches the burgundy red ribbon perfectly and I finished off with couple of pearls and a magazine freebie sentiment.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Butterfly challenge 'butterfly + R is for ribbon'
Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets' (my 2nd entry)
Winter Wonderland challenge 'KISS keep it sweet and simple'
Simon Says Monday challenge 'red + pink'
Simon Says Wednesday challenge 'all creatures great and small'

Thanks for popping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of the week.

A Little More Love

My laptop has been playing silly devils with me for the last few days so in the end I (or should I say my hubby) wiped the hard drive and reinstalled windows. It seems to be working okay now but I'm typing this post with my fingers crossed.

This is a small box I had made a while ago and put to one side so I thought it was about time I got around to decorating it. I cut a couple of hearts with an Xcut die from snippets of linen card, added a bit of lace and pearls and stamped a sentiment on another snippet of card.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Allsorts challenge 'love is all around'
Cute Card Thursday challenge 'crazy in love'
Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets'
Fussy and Fancy challenge 'it's all about love'
Scrap & Craft challenge 'Valentines / love / romance'

Thanks for popping by and I hope you had a good start to the week.

I'm back today with a little bit more 'Love' and this time in the form of those adorable little meeces we all know.

This is a decoupage sheet from Joanna Sheen's House Mouse 'food and drink 2' collection. I don't know why but this image always make me think of the 'roses are red, violets are blue, sugar is sweet and so are you' verse so I went for a romantic touch to this card and added the 2 die-cut little hearts stamped with a Clearly Besotted sentiment. The other sentiment was from the decoupage sheet, the paper is Dovecraft 'back to basics' and I added some ribbon from my stash.

I shall enter this in the following challenges -
Gruffies & Guests challenge 'buttons + bows or anything goes'
House Mouse and Friends Monday challenge 'love is in the air or anything goes'
The Ribbon Girl challenge ' romance is in the air card'
Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use hearts' (I used snippets for the 2 little hearts)
Papertake Weekly challenge 'anything goes' (my 2nd entry)
Cuttlebug Mania challenge 'I heart you' (x-cut heart die + Grand Calibur)
That's Crafty challenge 'animal magic'
Crafting Musketeers challenge 'cute'

I think my inspiration and motivation is returning slowly even if it takes me longer to do things, and hopefully I'm beginning to catch up with you all again. Thanks for popping by today and for all your encouraging comments.

Valentine's Heart

Last year on a whim I bought some paper (or is it papier) mache boxes and they've been sat in the cupboard staring at me ever since. Well, as one is a heart shape and Valentine's day is just around the corner I thought it was time to do something with it.

I covered it with paper from the Prima 'Fairy Belle' collection and added some lace to the box base. To decorate the lid I used my Poppystamps die 'fairy flower' which I think looks so delicate and all the rest is from my stash - roses, pearl stamens, pearl hearts and a butterfly.

Must admit that I'm quite pleased with my little play and I guess I should get on with decorating the other little boxes I have.

I shall enter this in the following challenges -
Allsorts challenge 'flower power'
The ABC challenge 'C is for cupid'
Butterfly challenge 'butterflies + V is for valentines'
Simon Says Monday challenge 'H is for....' I went for hearts

Thanks for popping by today and I'd love it if you would leave a comment. Also if you have any tips for decorating paper mache boxes other than using papers I'd love to hear them.

Birthday Girl

Well here we are at the start of February already... I think I must have blinked and missed last month.

It was my daughters birthday on the 21st January and I'd been trying to find inspiration for her card when I saw this card and I knew straight away that 'Cocktail Emma' was the perfect image... not only does my daughter like to party but also her name is Emma. So off I went to Pink Gem Designs to buy it and used the b+w image which I coloured with Promarkers. I used Glossy Accents on the glass and added a little Stickles around the glass rim. The pink paper is from LOTV and the dotty paper is from my snippets box. The ribbon, flowers and pearls are from my stash and the sentiment was done on the computer.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
A Gem of a challenge 'lots of layers'
Winter Wonderland challenge 'lots of layers'
Scribble and Scrap challenge 'always anything goes'

Well that's all from me for today, thanks for popping by and I hope you enjoy what's left of the weekend.
