Just for Jacky

This card was made for a birthday which was yesterday so I'm now able to post it. It was for Jacky who has to cycle to work whatever the weather - freezing cold, rain, wind and occasionally sunshine. Except this week as she's having a few days off so enjoy it dearie xx - Oh and I must point out that her backside is NOT that big

I loved the sketch at Live and Love Crafts this month so decided that was the one to follow

I used a fabulous Mo Manning image coloured with Promarkers and and placed on a doiley. The background papers are from Raspberry Road Designs and Wild Rose Studio. All the dies I used are from Cheery Lynn and are B117 fanciful flourish, DL112 small butterfly and B152 miniature rose. The lace, tag, sentiment and silver jewels are all from my stash

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Vintage Anniversary - finally!!

I named this card 'finally' as just about everything went wrong in the making of it and although it didn't turn out as planned I am pleased with it.

I used the following colour scheme for inspiration

All the dies I used are Marianne Creatables and are cut from white card brushed with pink chalk. The easel part of the card was made with LR0180. I used LR0111 for the flowers, LR0156 for the leaves, LR0157 for the lavender and glued them on LR0129 doily and the sentiment was made on the computer. I cut 4 Anja LR0200 corners and glued them onto brown card and then fixed the easel card to this. I added a couple of silver gems to the flower centres and wrapped a length of lace around the card and tied it in a bow at the front. I just can't seem to get the bow to stay right so will need to glue it a bit.

Here's a photo of the card closed

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Marianne Designs challenge 'Vintage easel card'
Joanna Sheen challenge 'Totally Sentimental'
That Craft Place challenge 'Vintage'
The Ribbon Girl challenge 'Colour challenge - pink, lilac, blue, green  & tangerine'

Baby Boy

Well the sun is peeping out from behind a few clouds and the washing is on the line so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a dry day. Hope you all had a good bank holiday weekend.

Todays post is is a card I was asked to make at short notice for a new baby boy which had to have 'Welcome to Ronnie' as the sentiment. As I didn't have any suitable background papers I embossed the front of the card with a doily Mica Mask in my Grand Calibur and then lightly brushed the card with blue chalks. I added a paperr doily and then a printed image which is from a very old CD I have called 'Decadry Express Family Events'. I typed the sentiment on the pc and coloured the cut out circle with blue chalk and added a bow. Then I finished it off with a die-cut Marianne Creatables LR0111 swirl.

Sorry the photo is a bit blurry. I didn't get the chance to take another.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Totally Gorjuss challenge 'Baby, Baby'
Sketchy Colors challenge 'Pastel Colours'

I'm back .....

.... although I've not been anywhere except in the space where all inspiration deserts you. I have been checking the reading lists and seeing your lovely cards, even though I haven't been getting round to visit you all to leave comments.

I have got a card to show you today and it's based on a sketch although I have resized and moved a couple off the elements

The image is from Joanna Sheen's 'Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady' CD and is one of the decoupage sheets. The background paper came with a magazine and I finished it with a silver peel-off trim.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Willow Sketchie challenge 'Sketch and/or Christmas in August' (I followed both)

Sugar Nellie Flutterbys

I'm a bit late finishing and posting this card. It's one of those days when you have a million things that have to be done.

I followed the sketch and theme over at the Sugar Bowl and the colour theme at Sketchy Colors

I've used a gorgous Sugar Nellie image coloured with Promarkers and a touch of Gelly Roll Stardust which I layered onto some hammer effect card. The background paper is Wild Rose Studio 'Butterfly Garden Limited Edition' and the butterflies are cut with a Cheery Lynn die DL112. I used a silver peel-off sentiment and flowers from my stash.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
The Sugar Bowl challenge 'Sketch and Butterflies'
That Craft Place challenge 'Things With Wings'
Sweet Stampin' challenge 'Things With Wings'

Blue and White Christmas

Well with the weather as unpredicatable as it is I'm not sure if I should be making summery cards or christmas cards!! In the end as the rain began to fall I decided to go with the christmas theme.

There's still a couple of days to go before the challenge ends at 'Dies To Die For' so I thought I'd make another card following this months sketch.

I also wanted to go for a couple of challenges which are a blue and white theme as I think it works perfectly for christmas cards.

I used a hammered effect base card and layered it up with a blue card embossed with snowflakes and dies - Memory Box Frostyville Border, Marianne Designs Creatable LR0189 mistletoe and LR0129 doily. The image is from a Lili of the Valley sheet of die-cuts which I cut into a circle as I thought it looked more effective. I wrapped the ribbon around a strip of card before sticking it down and finally I added a blue jewel to the centre of the flower and a sentiment.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Die-ing for a challenge 'Sketch' (my 2nd entry)
Samuel Taylors Crafts challenge 'Blue and White christmas card'
Scraphouse Inspiration challenge 'Blue and White'

Carolling Mice by Candlelight

For my second card of the day I've gone for a challenge at Winter Wonderland which is a photo inspiration

I used another decoupage sheet from Joanna Sheen's House Mouse 'Deck the Halls' set. I layered it onto some gold paper and then onto a backing paper that I got free with a magazine. The sentiment was part of the decoupage sheet.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Winter Wonderland challenge 'Photo Inspiration' (Gold and Candles)
Creatalicious challenge 'Christmas in July'

A New Dress

Hello and thanks for dropping by to take a look at my card today.

I decided to try my hand at a design which is totally new to me. This is a freebie image which I found here. I used chalks to colour the background and Promarkers to colour the dress. The corner is a Memory Box die 'Macarena Corner' which I also coloured with the same Promarker and the tag is Marianne Designs Creatables die LR0154 coloured with the chalks. I added a few punch cut flowers and some lace, pearls and charms from my stash.

Fruity Friends

Well we are enjoying some lovely sunshine again and fingers crossed it stays with us for a while.

So my card today fits in with having some fun on a warm summers day.

This is another Joanna Sheen House Mouse decoupage from the 'Fruit and Nut' collection. I went a bit crazy last year and bought quite a lot of House Mouse decoupage sheets and they are so cute that I spend more time looking at them than cutting them up!!
I used ivory linen card for the base and for the backing paper I printed off an insert from the Joanna Sheen House Mouse Inserts cd-rom. The purple flower was from my stash and I added a couple of tiny punched yelloe flowers for the centre to match the flowers on the paper and decoupage.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
By the Cute and Girly challenge 'Fruity'
Charisma Cardz challenge 'Flowers and Animals'

Beach Babe

This morning I decided to nake a card for a challenge 'spots and stripes' and wished I hadn't. I must admit they are the two things I can't seem to get the hang of... especially together.

The lovely papers are from Bearly Mine Designs but I haven't done them justice with this card. The sketch I followed is from Willow sketchie

I used a Dovecraft punch for the border and coloured the Saturated Canary image with Promarkers. The ribbon, gems and charm are from my stash

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Snoesjes & Sparkles

As those of you who saw my earlier cards will know I always used to colour my images with pencil crayons....  but I have been converted to Promarkers. I'm still limited colourwise even though a recent purchase has brought the total to 27 colours. I know what I shall be wanting for my birthday this year!!

Anyway here is my second Promarker card. The image is a Marianne Designs 'Snoesjes' and I followed a sketch from Totally Gorjuss challenge

The silver and white card I've used is a piece I've had for ages and I think it may be from an old christmas card. I used Marianne die LR0201 to cut the border from holographic card and attached some silver ribbon around it, the tag was cut with LR0154 and the bird with LR0137. I finished it off with silver peel-offs and gems from my stash.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Totally Gorjuss challenge 'It's a sketch'

Christmas Gift Box

Firstly I must apologize for not having been round to visit you lovely people for a while - just wish there were more hours in the day for everything I want to do, but I will drop by soon.

The new challenge over at Joanna Sheen today is to try something different and LOTV's Ideas to Inspire also have a competition to make anything except a card.... so I decided this morning that was what I would do and here's my first ever attempt at making a gift box. Luckily I remembered to make the lid slightly larger so it would fit over the base!!

I followed the sketch from Sketch N Stash for the lid

I used a paper from a pad called Berry Merry by Jennifer Ellory (which I got free with a magazine) for the top and the sides of the lid. The sweet Lili of the Valley image is from one of the die cut sheets which are so useful to have in, especially when you want to make something quick. I used Marianne dies LR0185 snowflake (if you can see it hiding behing the image), LR0136 tree, LR0189 mistletoe and LR0111 flower. The lace, pearls, snowflake charm, bow and gold ribbon are from my stash.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Joanna Sheen challenge 'Try Something New'
LOTV Ideas to Inspire competition 'Anything But a Card'
Sketch N Stash challenge 'Angies Sketch' (my neglected stash - gold ribbon and bow)
Lili's Little Fairies challenge 'Christmas In July'

Winter Wonderland challenge 'Ribbon and Lace'
Creatalicious challenge 'Christmas In July' (my 2nd entry)

No thanks, I'll wait for the ice cream

Well, the normal English weather has returned to the East Midlands and it's out with the brollies again. My sister is over visiting from Johannesburg and it always rains when she comes and improves when she leaves...... so hopefully after the 16th of this month we may get a bit more summer.

I have treated myself to a few more Promarkers and so will be trying my hand at a bit more 'colouring in' but in the meantime I've got another decoupage card to show you.

This is another Joanna Sheen House Mouse beautie from the 'Fruit and Nut' collection. I've not met anyone yet who doesn't find these little mice irresistable. The sentiment was part of the decoupage sheet, the background paper was free with a magazine and the ribbon and flowers are from my stash.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
My Mum's Craft Shop challenge 'Ice Cream flavour combos' (mine is Raspberry Ripple with sprinkles)
Bearly Mine challenge 'Anything Goes'
