More Birthdays and Others

Hi everyone, thanks for popping by today but please keep a safe distance as I've got an absolute stinker of a cold. I've got a few more cards to show you today and will keep it short and sweet (hopefully)

First off a card for the Passion for Promarkers special anniversary challenge where the theme is 'anything goes'. I used my trusty Promarkers to colour the image and added a sentiment from Uniko 'birthday sentiments' stamp set.

And following on with another birthday card this time for a male, using Uniko 'background builders round in circles' and 'simply said birthday'

I'm entering this in the following challenges

Uniko Studio 'anything goes + optional twist masculine'

Allsorts 10th birthday challenge 'happy birthday'

I've used one of the Uniko May new release stamps 'background blocks modern mid century II' for my next card. It would be a great stamp for those hard to make male cards but I stamped it in pink as I wanted a softer feminine look and after matting it onto some coffee coloured card I added a couple of die-cuts to finish.

This is for the challenges at

Penny Black and More 'all things feminine with anything goes option'

Inkspirational 'gold dipped'  (the thanks is die-cut from gold card)

And to finish with something different, here's a card with no stamping at all. I embossed the card front and added a LOTV topper along with some ribbon, flowers and gems. This will have a pocket added to the inside so that it can contain a gift card or money.

This is for the Unstampabelles challenge 'to have and to hold - twist art deco style'

Wow, you managed to make it through to the end and hopefully without catching my germs. Thanks so much for popping by and for taking the time to leave such lovely comments, I really appreciate it. I'm off now to grab another box of tissues and have a nice bowl of chicken soup and if I can stop sneezing long enough I may just have a crafty play later.

Birthdays and More

Hi everyone, I'm popping by with a few cards today so will try and keep it as short as possible so as not to bore you.

Bev, the lovely lady who single-handedly runs Uniko stamps, celebrated a milestone birthday a few days ago and the Uniko DT surprised her with a blog hop and linky party so this is the card I've made. Of course it was made using Uniko goodies - 'background blocks halftone' 'flower power #3' 'flower power #4' 'simply said birthday' and the matching 'flower power #1-6 dies'

Happy Belated Birthday Bev

For my next card I used more Uniko goodies on a Distress Oxide background- 'large background sketched foliage' (from the new release) and 'you are,yes you'
This is for the challenge at Stamping Sensations where the theme is 'in an English country garden'

More Uniko goodies - 'organic wishes' 'big & bold wish' and 'big & bold wish dies' - but this time I've made a star and for fun I made it a shaker on the back.

This is for the Time Out challenge 'inspired by words

And finally a card using JOFY flower stamps which I coloured with Promarkers and fussy cut, along with a sentiment from Uniko 'simply said birthday'

There's a a lot of fun going on over at Allsorts challenge as they are celebrating their 10th Birthday. Huge congratulations and thanks to Brenda and all the DT for such a great challenge.

and I shall also head over to the CASology challenge

Right I'm off to put my foot up as I managed (rather stupidly) to stand on a rusty nail Friday afternoon and although it's not done any serious damage and looks to be healing pretty well it is still rather sore. That'll teach me not to try and supervise Hubby when he's fixing fencing! Thanks for popping by today and I hope you're having a fun time whatever you're up to.

A Fishy Adventure

Hello to you all on this lovely sunny day and a Happy Mother's day to those of you who are being spoilt today.

A couple of months ago my daughter and granddaughter went on a trip up to the Sunshine Coast and while there they visited the Sealife aquarium and they sent me some photos. I decided to make a frame of one of the photos to send back to my little Miss Cutie Pie and her Mom so that they would have a reminder of their trip. The background was made with Distress Oxides and I used a variety of stamps and dies to decorate it. The fish, corals, and shells were cut multiple times and layered up to give dimension and were finished with either a good Wink of Stella or Sakura clear glaze. I love this photo of her and the look of amazement on her face.... she'd scuttled underneath and popped her head up into one of the glass viewing pods designed for children AND she saw DORY !

You can maybe see the dimension of the fish a bit better on this one

I also decorated the back and added a sentiment

I used loads of white card snippets for this as well as the fabulous Narwhal stamp + die set I won the other month so I'm skipping over to Pixie's Snippets Playground to see the other Playmates..... and Sarn (who's lurking behind the bikeshed with some goodies in her rucksack!)

I'm also joining with ~

Inkspirational challenge with the theme of 'adventure'

Simon Says Wednesday challenge 'for a special lady' - or in this case my two special ladies

I received another parcel from Bev at Uniko the other day (part of my stamps for a year win) containing some more fabulous stamps.... so watch this space as I've been having a play!

 Thank you so much Bev!

Okay so I'm off now to sit out in the garden a bit more to enjoy the lovely weather. Thanks for popping by and if you leave me a comment I'll be sure to call by and see you.

Happy Bird-day

Good morning to you all and for those in the UK I hope you're enjoying the extended bank holiday weekend.

I've got a birthday card to show you today featuring a party hosted by those Crazy Birds from Tim Holtz which were stamped and cut from snippets of cards and coloured with Promarkers. I went over the eyes with a Sakura glaze pen but unfortunately you can't see it in the photo. I was going to give them all googly eyes but I thought it may end up looking like someone had filled the bird bath with alcohol rather than water! More snippets were used for the floor and Paper Smooches balloon dies and after sticking everything to the card with glue dots I finished it off with a computer generated sentiment.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets'

Time Out challenge 'playful'

Simon Says Wednesday challenge 'happy birthday'

Cute Card Thursday challenge 'anything goes'

and here's a brand new challenge blog
AAA Birthday challenge 'anything birthday goes'

That's it from me for now...... I've got a busy day ahead and I'm also on the hunt down for Mojo to help me finish a little project I'm in the middle of making for my granddaughter. Thanks for popping by and also for taking the time to leave a comment so I know you've been to call.

Dies and a CD

Hi everyone, I'm dashing in today with a quick post with cards made for three challenges.

First up is for Poppystamps challenge 'blooming garden' using the floral cluster die and a sentiment from my stash.

Second is for Memory Box challenge 'clean and simple cards' using mama and baby ducks (their first outing) and breezy waves dies, and finished off with a Clearly Besotted sentiment stamp.

Third and final is for CD Sunday challenge 'anything goes using a CD'. While I had my House Mouse decoupage CD out for the last challenge I printed off some more sheets and here's a simple card I made using one of them.

So as I said....  a very quick post and now I'm off to make a few more cards as Mojo has decided to come and play with me! Thanks for your visit today and I hope you enjoy what's left of the weekend.

House Mouse Birthday

Hi everyone, I hope you all had a lovely easter break with lots of choccie eggs from the easter bunny. I certainly enjoyed the lovely warm weather and did a fair bit of spring cleaning and even managed to get all the curtains and nets washed. Now it's back to normal.... cold, and rain forecast for later today! Still at least I'll get a bit of time later to catch up with you all.

CD Sunday challenge are celebrating their 9th birthday with the theme - you guessed it - 'birthdays' and as I've got a couple of birthdays in May that I need to get cards made for I got out my House Mouse CD and printed off a decoupage sheet. I do have other CDs (badly neglected) but I love those little meecies and so does the person I made this card for.

I shall also enter this in the House Mouse & Friends Monday challenge where the theme is 'anything goes with the option of spring'

Now I've just got one card left to make and not an easy job as it's for a man! Thanks for taking the time to visit today and if you have any craft CDs then why not get one out and join in with the CD Sunday challenge - they're a nice group of people and I know they'll be very happy to see you.

Time Out and Embellishments reminder

Hi everyone. I'm back as Guest Designer with a reminder for the Time Out challenge. The theme is Embellishments with the option of One Layer and the sponsor is Birch Press Design.

I've not gone for the one layer option with this card. The image is a Sugar Nellie stamp coloured with my usual Promarkers and with a Wink of Stella on the cake and a clear Sakura gel pen on the cherries. The paper is from my snippets box and I added some card candi and a stamped (possibly LOTV) sentiment. The ribbon is the last little piece that I had been saving and it seemed just perfect for this card.

I shall enter this in the following challenges ~

Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use your snippets'

Seize the Birthday challenge 'anything goes'

Addicted to Stamps and More challenge 'make your mark'

As You Like It challenge 'favourite animal'
Gosh what a hard one this was as I love lots of animals but I finally settled on hedgehogs.... firstly because there are so many fabulous hedgie stamps out there and secondly because it reminds me of a family of baby hedgehogs we had in our garden a few years back. I'm not sure what had happened to the parents but the three little ones used to visit in the daytime and one in particular was always getting himself in trouble and was constantly being rescued!

Thanks for calling by today and it would be lovely if you could take the time to pop over to Time Out and see the fabulous creations from the design team. If you want to join in the fun you still have until April 24th.

Time Out and Embellishments

Good morning to you all. I was very lucky to be picked as winner over at Time Out challenge last month and was invited by the lovely ladies there to join them as Guest Designer for this challenge.... I was so delighted to accept.

The theme is Embellishments (use two or more) with the optional twist of One Layer (but this is only an option) and the challenge is sponsored by the lovely people over at Birch Press Design. I'd love it if you could hop over to Time Out challenge and check out the fabulous creations from the very talented DT....... and if you want to join in the fun the challenge runs until April 24th

For my card I decided to go for a 'sort of' one layer design!  I cut and folded a piece of vellum to fit round a card blank (basically making it an insert) then I traced a Uniko digistamp freebie onto the vellum using a white Sakura pen and coloured it with Promarkers. I stamped a sentiment from the Uniko 'flower power #4' set before tying a piece of ribbon (which I'd coloured with Promarkers to match the image) around both the card blank and vellum. To finish off I added some gems.

I shall enter this in the following challenges ~

Uniko challenge 'spring, optional twist easter'

CAS on Friday challenge 'spring'

Country View challenge 'easter and/or spring'

Addicted to Stamps and More challenge 'anything goes'

TCP Tuesday challenge 'spring'

Thanks for popping by today and I hope you'll be able to join in the fun at Time Out (don't forget to check the rules and details on the challenge blog)

Mermaid and Wishes

Hello everyone, I hope you're all keeping well and enjoying the weekend. Yesterday I was looking for a bit of inspiration for my snippets make and found a few challenges that helped me along.

I used my new set of MFT stamps called 'mermazing' coloured with Promarkers. I embossed a panel with a polka dots embossing folder and added the mermaid, rock and sentiment, popping them up with glue dots.

The challenges that inspired me are

 MFT Sketch challenge

MFT Colour challenge

Inkspirational challenge

Papercraft challenge 'polka dots'

and as everything except the card blank was a snippet I'm skipping over to see the playmates at  Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge

There were a couple of other challenges that caught my eye so I decided to make another quick and CAS card. This Uniko stamp set called 'big & bold wish' seemed the perfect choice and using the TH stamping platform I stamped the sentiment and candles. I stamped the candles again, coloured with Promarkers and a Sakura glitter pen before cutting and sticking in place over the ones already stamped on the card. I hadn't intended doing this but realised that the Promarker would probably bleed through the card blank if I didn't. To finish I used an embossing folder to make a polka dot strip to add along the bottom of the card. Made in about 15 minutes and would have been less if I hadn't made the extra candles.

This was inspired by the following challenges

TGIF Colour challenge

AAA Cards challenge

Less is More challenge

Allsorts challenge 'sentiment in focus'

and I'm also popping over to the Love to Craft challenge where the theme is 'anything goes'

Now I'd better head off and get on with some of the housework I've been trying to ignore! Thanks for popping by and I'll be over to see you soon.

Flowers and a Quickie

Morning everyone, it's a bit wet here but only to be expected with April arriving and bringing those dratted showers with it........ still it's ideal crafting weather if only I could just ignore the housework that's piling up! I was having a sort through some of my older stamps at the weekend, deciding whether they would get loved if I kept them or if I should let them go to make more space in the cupboard and in the process a few of them actually got inked up again. Here are a couple of cards I made with stamps I've decided to give more love to.

First up is Penny Black 'poppy gems' coloured with Promarkers. I used a sentiment from Uniko's 'birthday wishes' set and added a couple of butterflies to finish it off.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Allsorts challenge 'use yellow'

Time Out challenge 'photo challenge' I was inspired by the flowers and butterfly

Words 2 Craft By challenge 'happiness held, happiness shared'

Simon Says Wednesday challenge 'anything goes'

Work It Wednesday challenge 'spring flowers'

Next is one of the teddy trio stamps by LOTV, again coloured with Promarkers and cut using a nesting die. I used a circles folder to emboss the card blank (don't have the packaging anymore so can't give you any details), stamped a Uniko sentiment from the 'flower power #2' set and then added the LOTV teddy. This was made in a matter of minutes and I'll definitely be doing more of these.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Penny Black and More challenge 'going round in circles'

AAA Cards challenge 'CAS + made in minutes + option dry embossing'

Just Us Girls challenge 'embossing folders'

I did actually manage to 'throw out' 3 Penny Black christmas stamps and one stamp from a LOTV teddy trio in my sort out. I'm feeling pretty pleased with myself and now I'm certain I've got room for a few new ones! Next up are the dies !!!

You may have noticed that I've started linking to the Uniko shop for any products I use and would just like to point out that I've not been asked to do this, but as I was the very lucky winner of the 'Stamps for a year' giveaway I just thought it the right thing to do.

That's it from me for today, thanks for your visit and for taking the time to leave me a comment.
