In Search of Inspiration

Hi everyone, I hope you're all at home keeping safe and well. I noticed that in our area people are venturing out a lot more than they did in the first week of lockdown and our neighbour and her extended family have totally ignored all rules about staying home, visiting and social distancing since day 1 and are still carrying on as though they are immune from all that is happening in the world. Don't know about you but I just can't understand some people!

I have no idea where last week disappeared to and I've totally lost track when it comes to what day of the week it is. I seem to be spending a lot less time crafting and even less on the computer! The title of this post just about says it all as Mojo did the usual disappearing act and I was left scrambling about searching for inspiration and finally found a sketch which was the starting point for my card. The fun NBUS stamps are MFT 'festive flamingos' which I coloured with Promarkers and then had to fussy cut as I don't have the matching dies (remind me never to buy stamps without the dies again!) Following the sketch I made the banner from snippets of snowy paper for the sky, silver mirri card for the ice and a piece leftover from the MFT 'horizontal snowdrift' die for the snowy landscape. Then to finish off I added the sentiment from the same stamp set.

I'm heading over to the following challenges with this

MFT Wednesday Sketch challenge

Pixie's Snippets Playground 'use your snippets'

NBUS challenge 'break out your Never-Before-Used-Schtuff'

Next I've got a card made ready for my Aunt's (98th) birthday next month. I used a LOTV art pad image - well 3 of the same image - which I fussy cut and layered up to give it dimension which really does make it look so much nicer. Along with the last of some pretty paper (not sure which pack it's from), some pink card for matting. pearls and a sentiment, I finished the card and managed to use up some more of my older stash.

This is for

Allsorts challenge 'flowers and/or showers'

Well that's it from me for today.... I'm off to search for Mojo and hopefully some more inspiration. Thanks for coming to visit and I'll be round to visit you all in the next week - I promise. Take care and keep yourselves safe.

Two beauties Andrea, love the skating flamingos especially the one with the added antlers, your aunts card is stunning a gorgeous image from Lili of the valley. like you we have neighbours who are totally ignoring the rules perhaps they think that because we live in the country it doesn't matter, their daughter and grandchildren stay in the nearest house to them about 300 yds away and their son 10 miles away they flit between houses at will and have built stables at the daughters house over the past week meaning at least 4 tradesmen( dad and brother are joiners ) have been there the worst thing is that the daughter is a Health Visitor and should know better, nothing professional about her behaviour at all.

Two lovely cards, I don't usually stop to look at Christmas cards when it is not Christmas, but yours caught my eye. I love those flamingos in their scarves. I think we are all sharing the same feelings. It is quite a challenge to get a card to come together at the moment, but these work a treat xx

Hi Andrea...love those flamingo's and that sketch might just have triggered my imagination for sons B card....so thank you! Like you mojo lacking til yesterday. Crafting is not uppermost in a lot of peoples minds right now. A very pretty card for your Auntie...hop she is staying safe. I don't understand peoples mentality either! Hugs xx

A really super fun Christmas card, great images and a super background.
A very pretty Birthday card, super image and such a fab idea for the added dimension, lovely DP too.
These people who are not complying with the advice really are getting on my nerves, it is those sort of people who are making the flipping thing last longer, Just announced today that over 70's (me) will have to isolate for another 12 months.

I will borrow the post title Andrea as nothing changes here and so thankful that we don't have neighbours as such, but have seen a sharp increase in 'walkers' never before sighted. We live on a single track road which goes nowhere so they certainly aren't making essential trips. And apart from some elderly people's housing there are no flats in the village so it's pretty safe to say all properties have a garden of some sort, so which part of stay home don't they understand.

Rant over, mojo or not you have made two pretty card and the fist made me smile. Thanks for sharing the pretty floral with us at Allsorts this week. And hope your Granddaughter is better.

I'm so sorry your neighbours are making you anxious Andrea. Some people don't seem to be aware of what they're doing.

Your festive flamingos have cheered me up no end. I love that one of them is wearing antlers (no doubt in an effort to get into the Christmas spirit!) and I love their boots and scarves! Your card for your aunt is just so pretty and feminine, I bet she'll be delighted with it! I can't see any signs of a missing mojo here! Vicky x

You did a great job nudging your Mojo out of hiding for both these designs, Andrea! Great job using your flamingos in such a fun way on your creative card and thank you for sharing at NBUS! I am grinning at those stick legs in heavy ice skates and what the heck is the deal with those antlers? haha! From the humorous to the sublime, your birthday card for your Aunt is stunning! She will love it!! Take care and keep safe and keep pushing that Mojo uphill! Hugs, Darnell

I love both cards Andrea - especially the snippets flamingoes! You deserve a medal for fussy cutting them - sheesh! I'm so with you on the mojo business. And even more so on folk ignoring the lockdown rules. We have one neighbour in particular who walks his dog at least twice a day, goes out on his bike for a ride - and also at least one car outing - and he's no out at work. It's so selfish - and as time goes on it's pretty obvious that folk are beginning more and more to push the boundaries. That's my rant for today!

Stay safe my friend!

Hugs, from afar, Di xx
