Spring...... I Wish!

A couple of days ago we had a lovely sunny albeit chilly day and today it's back to dull and drizzle! I do wish spring would come.... and stay, and bring some better weather that might lift our spirits in this crazy time.

I've not been very crafty lately although I have managed to make a couple of cards to enter a few challenges. The first is another of my much loved flower stamps from Penny Black called 'first waltz' teamed with a Penny Black sentiment from the 'hello friend' set.

Stamping Sensations challenge 'spring florals'

Penny Black Saturday challenge 'think spring'

And for my second card I've used a House Mouse decoupaged image with an old paper from my stash.

Flowers, Wings and a Birthday

Hi everyone, I hope this finds you all in good health and well stocked up on baby wipes and such things (purely for crafting purposes of course!) As for toilet rolls.... after a trip to the supermarket and viewing the contents of shopping trolleys Hubby reminded me of days long gone by when all you had in the toilet (which by the way was at the bottom of the garden) was ripped up pieces of yesterday's newspaper, or if you were well enough off you might have a roll of that really hard toilet roll ! Also it appears that the whole of the UK will be taking up bread making while they're self-isolating as it took a trip to three supermarkets before we managed to get a packet of bread flour (the last on the shelf).

Anyway enough of the chit-chat and on with my cards. Whenever a challenge mentions spring I automatically think of my Penny Black stamps and this time I've used 'tulip queue' which I coloured with Promarkers and I used chalks to colour the background. With the corners punched, a sentiment from a magazine (ages old) and a piece of ribbon added, it was job done.

I have my usual brands of stamps that I use but am always on the lookout for new brands that I don't have and found Paper Smooches have some free digis on their blog. I do have some of their dies but unfortunately no stamps so I downloaded some of the images and made a little scene which I printed off. The first print was pretty small and I had to use pencil crayons and chalks to colour it, so I printed it a second time and used Promarkers and chalks to colour. I made both into 4x6 inch cards and added little die-cut clouds to them both (I'm not sure of the brand as it had been taken out of the original packaging for storing on magnetic sheets)

Last up is my snippets card using snippets of glitter paper for the die-cut Memory Box 'classic lowercase alphabet' letters and a snippet of card to stamp and die-cut the MFT 'just beclaws' crabs.

Hi everyone, Mojo decided to come and play last week so I've a trio of flowers to show you today.

There are a few spring challenge themes on at the moment and I couldn't resist getting out my PB 'daffodil dance' stamp. I love daffodils as they always look so happy and are a sign of (hopefully) better weather to come and longer days. A CAS design with a mother's day sentiment added (not sure of the brand)

As You Like It challenge 'favourite flower and why'

Now for some die-cut flowers using Poppystamps 'floral cluster'...... I cut this twice into a piece of card to form a bigger cluster and coloured the flowers and petals with Promarkers before inlaying them. Again I added a mother's day sentiment - this time a leftover from a decoupage sheet.

Creative Inspirations challenge 'pretty pastels'

Simon Says Wednesday challenge 'something feminine'

I decided to try something different with the following card. You use a rectangle piece of card and fold from the top corner to the bottom corner. This fold then becomes the bottom of your card and you make your second fold halfway along this to give you your side fold. The flower is Uniko 'originally organic' cut with the matching die, and the sentiment is MFT. The card has a little pocket both on the front and inside so ideal for adding little tags or similar, and it would be perfect for holding a gift card.

Fab 'n' Funky challenge 'more than one fold'

Crafty Calendar challenge 'more than one fold'

Now I know I said a trio but I did manage to sneak in a little crafty play this morning so I'm turning this into a quartet of cards. No flowers on this last one though...... instead the MFT 'magical dragons' have come to play.

MFT Birthday Project challenge 'hearts'

Allsorts challenge 'anything with wings'

Double D challenge 'it's all about the green'

Less is More challenge 'big and small'

That's definitely it from me for today. Mojo has been packed off for a much needed rest while I take time to come and return your visits and see what you've been up to. Thanks for popping by and I hope you are all enjoying the weekend.
