Dress-up and a Trio

Good Morning all, sorry I've not been visiting the past few days but I've been rather busy. This is a photo heavy post so grab yourself a mug or glass of something.

I recently bought my granddaughter some dress up costumes (it's so easy to buy from shops in Oz and have it delivered straight to them) and one was Elsa from Frozen. Unfortunately it wasn't a design with a cape and she so longed for that long trailing dress so Granny volunteered to get out the sewing machine that's been gathering dust in the back of the cupboard for at least a couple of decades. Now I've not done any sewing without patterns since my daughter (now in her 40s) was little, and taking into account they live half way round the world I had to rely on measurements from her Mommy (who only had a ruler and a metal measure!) but with the aid of Skyping I managed to make this that she can wear over the dress. Fingers crossed it fits okay!

I'm entering this cape in the Love To Craft 'June anything goes' challenge

I wrapped it in tissue paper and made a tag using Uniko 'stunning snowflakes' and I also sent some Tim Holtz snowflakes die-cut from glitter sheets and foam to stick to her shoes.

For my first and very quick, CAS card I used a shaped card blank with Uniko stamps 'flower power 2, flower power 3, flower power 5, simply said birthday' and 'flower power 1-6' dies

This is for the following challenges

AAA Cards '5th birthday bash'

Pixie's Snippets Playground 'use your snippets' I used snippets of white card for the flowers

Stamping Sensations 'show your true colours'

Work It Wednesday 'summer vibes'

Another quick, CAS card using more Uniko stamps 'background blocks mid century modern, flower power 5, english country garden' and 'english country garden' dies

I'm entering this in the challenges at

Penny Black and More 'blooms, butterflies and/or bugs'

Country View Crafts 'it's a bugs life'

And my final card is a Penny Black stamp 'santa's visit' which I stamped onto some hammered card (which gives the snowy effect) and cut with a Penny Black nesting die. The image has been cropped to about half it's size and framed with the next size nesting die before matting onto some green mirricard. I ended up making a batch of these as I'm rather behind with christmas.

This is for the challenge at Allsorts where the theme is 'black + white plus one'

Thanks so much for your visit today and making it through to the last card! I'll be round to return your visit in the next day or two.... until then take care and enjoy your day.

The cape turned out really well Andrea and I am sure she will feel like a real little Princess wearing it.

A lovely selection of cards as well, the CAS shaped one is very pretty with the three different coloured blooms, I love the framework background on the second (might need this stamp) and the green one works very well with the B&W.

Thanks so much for joining in our challenges at Allsorts, Penny Black and More and Stamping Sensations.

Hi Andrea,
yes you have been a busy lady.
I love that wonderful cape you have made it's so pretty and very beautifully created without a pattern too.
Beautifully packaged up as well.
Wonderful cards and such super designs also.
Love all the stamps used and the Christmas scene is very striking but is making me feel a tad cold as it has been chillier today until tea time when it warmed up.
Lots of crafty love, Jenny L.
