A couple of months ago my daughter and granddaughter went on a trip up to the Sunshine Coast and while there they visited the Sealife aquarium and they sent me some photos. I decided to make a frame of one of the photos to send back to my little Miss Cutie Pie and her Mom so that they would have a reminder of their trip. The background was made with Distress Oxides and I used a variety of stamps and dies to decorate it. The fish, corals, and shells were cut multiple times and layered up to give dimension and were finished with either a good Wink of Stella or Sakura clear glaze. I love this photo of her and the look of amazement on her face.... she'd scuttled underneath and popped her head up into one of the glass viewing pods designed for children AND she saw DORY !
You can maybe see the dimension of the fish a bit better on this one
I also decorated the back and added a sentiment
I used loads of white card snippets for this as well as the fabulous Narwhal stamp + die set I won the other month so I'm skipping over to Pixie's Snippets Playground to see the other Playmates..... and Sarn (who's lurking behind the bikeshed with some goodies in her rucksack!)
I'm also joining with ~

Simon Says Wednesday challenge 'for a special lady' - or in this case my two special ladies
I received another parcel from Bev at Uniko the other day (part of my stamps for a year win) containing some more fabulous stamps.... so watch this space as I've been having a play!
Thank you so much Bev!
Okay so I'm off now to sit out in the garden a bit more to enjoy the lovely weather. Thanks for popping by and if you leave me a comment I'll be sure to call by and see you.

What a good idea, I bet this card will be treasured for years to come. I remember thinking I would start scrapbooks for my grandchildren to record events and days out, but of course it has never happened. Making cards like this would be another way so thanks for the inspiration. It is a lovely and very clever card, the background works brilliantly. Lucky you to receive those Uniko stamps, they are very special. What an amazing prize that was xx
Fabulous card and great use of snippets too. I love the photo of the little one peeking through. Those stamp sets are great too. Elizabeth xx
