Christmas Flowers

I hope you all had a wonderful christmas and enjoyed yourselves wherever you were and whatever you were doing. Christmas dinner is lovely but very filling and I do enjoy the couple of days after  when we finish off the leftover meats with salad and Hubby's homemade bread.

Now onto my christmas flowers which I've made to join in with the Uniko 2019 Christmas Party.

It's an 'anything goes christmas' theme with at least one Uniko product (which can also include their digital freebies). I decided to make a box card using the Uniko 'season of beauty' set, stamping and fussy cutting the flowers and foliage several times. I really love this stamp set but  I do wish there was a die set to match as my fingers were a bit sore afterwards! I heat embossed on the box flaps with Uniko 'background blocks stars' and then stuck it all together and added a bow to finish off.

You can save 15% on all Uniko orders at the moment - check out this post here and of course I had to treat myself to another christmas pressie! Edited - offer now ended

That's it from me for today, I'm off to have a bowl of homemade celery soup and then maybe probably treat myself to a few more goodies! Enjoy the rest of your holiday and thanks for taking the time to visit.

Merry Snippetmas

Not long now until the jolly man in a red suit appears and apart from making the sausage rolls and shortbreads I'm done, which meant I've had time for some crafty fun. I treated myself to a new set of Sizzix Tim Holtz 'tiny snowglobes' dies which dropped through the letterbox on Friday so I decided I should have a play.

I showed Hubby the dies and he asked if I was regretting buying them.... mmmm not sure yet! just check the last photo and you'll see what he meant. I think TH must have been checking out the Snippet's Playground when he designed these dies! Anyway I decided that using snippets of white card with StickIt backing and then colouring the die cut pieces with Promarkers would be the best way to tackle things.... ha ha ha, just shows how wrong you can be!

Luckily I decided to cut and make them one image at a time but trying to get the sticky backing off the tiny bits was very frustrating and even then I still managed to lose some of the minutest bits and had to resort to adding a touch of colour with a Sakura or Promarker pen to finish off. One thing's for sure, these were NOT designed for people with less than nimble fingers or old eyes BUT they are so super cute when finished EVEN if it did take me hours and a big magnifying lamp!

I used two of them to make into tags and all but one of the others - along with some more snippets and a spot of Stickles - to make a 'scrapling' card. I first saw this type of card over on Jules' blog here.

And to give you an idea of the size

I'm heading over to join in the following challenges

Allsorts challenge 'anything goes'

Inkspirational challenge 'no stamping'

That's it from me for today, thanks so much for taking the time to visit and before I go I would like to wish you all

A Very Merry Christmas

Winter Fairies

Yikes, the christmas countdown on the advent calendar has started and believe it or not I'm still not organised (what's new there ?!) but I'm sure the rest of you are all ready for the annual appearance of the big fat man in his red suit !

I've just finished my granddadughter's card after changing the design countless times and hopefully fairies, tigers and purple will still be her favourite by the time she gets this! I used a couple of Mo Manning digi fairies 'winter fairy Pyry' and winter fairy Talva' which were coloured with Promarkers and given a good helping of Stickles and the tree is a Memory Box die 'swirly tree' as I think it's just perfect for a fairies christmas tree. I found the little tiger image on the internet and just changed the colour of the stripes to purple, and the rest is all from my stash.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Butterfly challenge 'spin the wheel with X for guess who!'

Christmas and Thanks

Hi everyone, hope all is well in your corner of Blogland. I've been more of a CAS traditional christmas card maker of late (hoping to get done in time for the big day!) but I've made a card in my old style using layers and embellishments. I've used one of my older Penny Black stamps coloured with Promarkers and sparkled with Stickles and a Wink of Stella pen. The background is embossed with a Tattered Lace 'twelve days of christmas' folder and I finished off with a Penny Black die-cut sentiment.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Pixies's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets'

Penny Black and More challenge 'christmas'

Passion for Promarkers challenge '3 or more layers'

Double D challenge 'what's your style'

Penny Black Saturday challenge 'anything goes + optional tags'

And I just couldn't resist making a very quick CAS  card for a couple of challenges using a flower from Uniko 'kindness blooms' and a die-cut 'scripty thanks' from Lawn Fawn.

I made this for

Allsorts challenge 'thank you or new year'

AAA Cards challenge 'made in minutes + optional twist ink blending'

That's it from me for now...... I'm back to carry on with more christmas cards! Thanks for your visit today and for taking the time to leave me a comment, I really do appreciate it.

Twofer Christmas

As promised I'm back with my Twofer cards using the new release stamps from Uniko I've been having fun playing with (they really are fabulous stamps)

Over at the Twofer card challenge there is a bit of a twist this month and along with holiday greenery we're allowed to make two cards for the same occasion as long as they are different designs.

I used Uniko 'season of beauty' for my first card. I stamped the Poinsettia on a snippet of white card, then fussy cut it out and gave it a good helping of sparkle with a Wink of Stella brush before sticking it in place with glue dots.

I shall enter this in

Allsorts challenge 'christmas flowers'

Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use your snippets'

Penny Black and More challenge 'christmas'

As You Like It challenge 'cute or traditional xmas and why'  Cute is nice but when making christmas cards I love the traditional colours and images - and also they are more suited to the people I send to

Time Out challenge 'photo inspiration'  I was inspired by the colours, greenery of the wreath and words

My Twofer uses the same greenery stamped across a piece of card with a sentiment from Uniko 'festive sentiments outlined' heat embossed in gold and then I matted it onto some gold mirricard. It was after stamping the greenery that I decided to go with the christmas theme again as I know I'll be running short but this stamp would definitely be brilliant for so many different occasions

I shall enter this in

Uniko challenge 'christmas, optional twist tree'

Stamping Sensations challenge 'traditional christmas colours - red, green, gold'

Country View challenge 'hand stamped'

So that's another two cards ready but I really must make a start on the one for my granddaughter as last day for christmas posting overseas will be here pretty soon.... followed closely by christmas! Thanks for popping by today, I love reading your comments and do appreciate the time you take to visit, especially this time of year when things are starting to get a bit hectic.

Pink and White

No I'm not scoffing a bag of marshmallows but just popping by with a couple of cards I've made for a few challenges.

Up first is this pink Mo manning image coloured with Promarkers and given a very good helping of Stickles on the tutu and heart so much so that it's given it a lot of dimension. I added a piece of ribbon and finished it with a silver peel off sentiment.

trying to show the dimension of the tutu

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Dream Valley challenge 'all that glitters'

Passion for Promarkers challenge 'ribbons and bows'

For my next card I used one of the new release stamps from Uniko called 'background blocks scandinavian christmas'. I had intended to heat emboss this in gold but at the last minute I decided to go for white. It actually looked gorgeous with the white on white so I didn't add any background inking and just finished it off with a die- cut sentiment. It's one of those cards that is impossible to get a good photo of (especially with the dull day we have here) but looks gorgeous in person with the sheen of the embossing.

and here's another with the lamp shining on it

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Allsorts challenge 'white on white'

AAA cards challenge 'one image plus optional twist shimmer'

Uniko challenge 'christmas, optional twist tree'

Before I go here's a photo of the Uniko October release stamps (part of my stamps for a year win) that were waiting through the letterbox when I got back from my hols. They really are gorgeous stamps and I'll be along in a couple of days with my Twofer cards to show you. Thank you again so much Bev for this amazing giveaway..... I am still doing a happy dance here!

That's it from me for now, thanks so much for taking the time to come and visit me and for all your lovely comments.... they are really appreciated.

One Layer

I am really sorry not to have caught up with you all as planned but I just managed to get all the washing and housework that I came home to done and then I ended up ill. I was in bed for a few days but the pills and sleep seem to have done the trick and I feel a lot better now. I even made a very quick CAS christmas card today for a few challenges.

The stamp is Penny Black 'berry speckled' inked with distress markers and the sentiment is also Penny Black.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Penny Black and More 'christmas'

Stamping Sensations 'traditional christmas colours - red, green, gold'

CAS on Sunday 'one layer'

Inkspirational 'one layer'

Country View 'hand stamped'

As You Like It 'cute or traditional xmas and why'   I do like cute images but prefer traditional images and colours when it comes to making christmas cards - a touch of nostalgia I suppose.

Thanks for your visit today and for taking the time to leave me a comment. Hopefully things go to plan and I will get round to catch up with you all this week..... and also get time to crack on with my christmas cards!

I'm back..... with a snippet

Hi everyone, I'm finally back in Blogland after six weeks away visiting our daughter and darling little granddaughter. We arrived back very late Sunday night and I've just managed to get the mountain of washing finished so I'm grabbing a bit of time to post a card I made for my granddaughter before I went away.

This is made from snippets of card and paper and uses MFT stamps and dies. On the inside I made a pocket to hold a cinema gift card (so that she can go and see the new Frozen movie when it comes out next month) and I also made a matching envelope. So now I'm skipping over to see the Playmates over at Pixie's Snippets Playground.

Thanks for taking the time to pop by for a visit today and I hope to catch up with you all over the next week....... but before I go I'd like to share a couple of photos of me with a new friend I made while I was away!

He was a very friendly pelican and I think he was rather hoping that my bag might contain a tasty snack he could get his beak into (but it didn't) !

Flying Visit

Hi everyone, sorry I've been such a bad blogger recently but life has been a bit hectic of late. I'm flying in with a very quick post today with my snippets card and heading over to join in the fun with Miss Di and the Playmates over at Pixie's Snippets Playground

I was sorting out some scraps that I had on the table and among them was a bit of card left over from having a play with some Distress Oxides that I thought it would make a perfect background sky for a  die-cut frame I had. I offset it onto the card blank but wasn't pleased with the result so I added some edge strips from a sheet of gold peel-offs, and finished it off with a sentiment from my Sarntangles stamp set.

Thanks for taking the time to pop by today, I really appreciate it. I won't be around for a while but will catch up with you all just as soon as I can.

Having a play

Hi everyone, hope you're all fine.... and to those of you in the UK I hope you had a great bank holiday weekend. I've spent most of it sitting in front of the fan or taking cold showers trying to keep nice and cool, and as it was way to hot to do housework I've managed to have a crafty play.

First up I've got some butterflies....... this is the first time I've played with shrink plastic so was quite impressed with how it works. The stamp is the largest from the Uniko 'English country garden - butterflies' (on sale at the moment!) which I coloured with pencils and cut out by hand so that I could punch the hole. They started off about 7cm across the wings and shrunk to about 3cm when heated (I used a heat gun) and I've threaded them on ribbons to make necklaces for my Granddaughter.

I'm entering these in the following challenges

Stamping Sensations challenge 'things with wings'

Your Next Stamp challenge 'anything but a card'

Next I've got some little meecies who have decided to help themselves to a little outdoor snack! The image is from the House Mouse decoupage cd and the ribbon and paper from my stash.

I'm entering thie in the following challenges

Words 2 Craft By challenge 'picnics'

House Mouse & Friends Monday challenge 'anything goes'

My final card was made using bits and bobs from my stash with a Sylvia Zet Wee Stamps topper and a LOTV sentiment.

I'm entering this in the following challenge

Allsorts challenge 'feminine'

Before I go here's a photo of the cat costume I've been making....... definitely not up to the standard of my sewing of days long past but I think my little Granddaughter will be happy enough with it. But I've just been told that real cats need to have a collar with a bell so I'll have to get the sewing cotton and needle out again! I know it looks a bit freaky all laid out on the carpet but it was the only way to get a photo!

That's all from me for today. Thanks for popping by to see me, I really appreciate you taking the time to leave me a comment and I'll be round to return your visit.

Nautical Twofer

Hi everyone, I hope all is well in your part of Blogland. The cat costume I was making for my granddaughter is finally finished so I've managed to find some time to have a crafty play. Darnell's Twofer challenge this month has a 'nautical' theme which fitted perfectly with one of the new release stamps from Uniko, and for both cards I used the 'nautical treasures' set
.

My Onefer is a christmas card. This is a brilliant stamp for male cards but I wanted to use it in a different way and the christmas carol just kept going round in my head. I stamped and heat embossed in gold and fussy cut the boat three times. The sentiment was done on the computer and matted onto gold mirricard and the waves are a Memory Box die. I'm rather pleased with how this turned out and the stamp heat embossed beautifully.

I'm entering this in the following challenges

Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets' (everything except the base card were snippets)

Inkspirational challenge 'travel'

My Twofer is a very CAS design and also uses a sentiment from the same stamp set, as well as one of the stamps from the new release 'background builders classics' for the sea.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

CASology challenge 'water'

Thanks for popping by today, I really appreciate your visit and all of your comments.

Simon Says Kids challenge

Hi everyone, hope all is well in your part of Blogland. I'm still getting tangled up in sewing cotton so there's no card from me today, but I did see that Simon Says Stamp is having a Kids Summer Vacation challenge for kids aged 2 - 16 years and with the theme 'anything goes with sparkle'

So here I am with the card that my 3 year old granddaughter made for Grandpa's birthday. She did have a little help from her Mom showing her which way to up to put the sentiment but apart from that it was all her own work and design...... and of course everything she makes has to have glitter added ....it's all the marks around the edges but doesn't show up too well in the photo.

Thanks so much for your visit today. Hopefully the kitty costume I'm making will be finished soon and I can get back to playing with some stamps and joining in a few challenges.

Uniko and More

Hi everyone. I've been quite busy with various things lately so not much crafting happening here until yesterday when I suddenly had a craving to make some cards and join in a few challenges. The newly released Uniko stamps which were part of my 'stamps for a year' win had arrived last week and they definitely motivated me to get crafty.

First up uses two of the new release stamps from Uniko 'Large Background Tropical Paradise' and 'Wild'. I stamped straight onto a coloured card base and then added a little stamped and die-cut giraffe from MFT 'Wild About You'. A really quick and easy make.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Penny Black and More challenge 'for boys and men'

Simon Says Monday challenge 'happy birthday'

Simon Says Wednesday challenge 'anything goes'

AAA Birthday challenge 'for the boys'

Next up is a stamp set from May's Uniko release called 'Mid Century Modern Florals' which I've only just got round to inking up. There are so many stamps in this set and so many ways in which you can use them..... so instead of thinking of how to do it, I just inked and stamped and came up with this. I've left it without a sentiment for the time being as I'm not sure whether to make it for a birthday or a cheery get well card.

I made this for the Uniko challenge 'flowers with the optional twist die-cuts'

This is a quick CAS one layer card using a LOTV stamp coloured with Promarkers and the sentiment is from another of the new release Uniko sets 'sentiments outlined'

This is for the following challenges

AAA Cards CAS challenge 'made in minutes + optional twist summer'

Time Out challenge 'relaxation'

My last card is for Pixie's Snippets challenge 'use your snippets'. I used snippets of white card for stamping flowers from the Uniko 'Passiflora' set and cut them with the matching dies. The sentiment (leftover from a decouplage sheet) is stuck onto a snippet of coloured card.

That's it from me for now. I'm itchng to have a play with the other Uniko stamps I got but will have to wait a little while as my granddaughter needs a black cat costume making - so I'm having to be supergran with my sewing machine.

Thanks for popping by today....  I really appreciate your visits and the time you take to leave a comment.
