Santa's Helper

What a change in the weather and how lovely to be able to sit out in the garden. The washing machine has been working overtime as anything that can be washed has been washed and hung out on the line to dry - I still can't understand why it gives me so much pleasure to dry the washing outside! The downside to this lovely weather is the weeding we've got to do at my Dad's house as I'm certain prospective buyers don't want to be greeted by foot-high dandelions along the driveway, no matter how bright and cheerful they look!

Anyway enough of my waffling as I'm here to show off some new goodies I treated myself to in the shape of MFT 'Santa's Elves' stamp set and matching dies. I used my usual Promarkers to colour the tree and one of the elves (there are 3 in the set) with Stickles on the fur and a glitter sakura pen for the star and hat bell. The scalloped circle was die-cut from glitter paper that had been stuck to some card and the plain circle was die-cut and then run through with a dotty embossing folder to give it a bit of texture. I used one of the sentiments from the stamp set and after I put it all together I added some pearls and gemstones.

and here's one that shows the glitter a bit better

I'm heading over to the following challenges

MFT Sketch challenge
this sketch

ABC Christmas challenge 'H for hats and/or I for ice'

As You Like It challenge 'favourite colouring medium and why' (my 2nd entry - my trusty Promarkers always work well for me)

Allsorts challenge 'use pearls'

and as I used snippets of card and glitter paper I shall head over to Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge to see Miss Di, Parsnip and the other Playmates

That's all from me today - we're off to do some shopping and as I'm still limping along with my very sick laptop we'll also head into PC World and hopefully get me a new one. Thanks for popping by today and I will be round to catch up with you all just as soon as I can.... even if I have to liberate Hubby's tablet to do the job.

  1. It's a sweet image with his sparkly hat Andrea. Yep, weeds popping up well here as well, but not complaining as we have four lovely days before the cold set back in.

  3. I think this is fabulous Andrea...I really do. Love Santa's elf and your colouring! I like pegging the washing out too...drawback is the ironing that follows! Cloudy and cool here now...more rain on the way...guess that's summer over...what happened to Spring? xx

Been really cold here today, I gather that we are now expecting "the pest from the west", something to look forward to I suppose, not.

  8. Sweet, Andrea! Your card has cuteness, schparkle, bling, and snippets! What more could any brilliant Cc want?! I'm so glad to hear you've had enough sunshine to do all the wash and lift everyone's spirits ... pity it also lifts dandelions and other weeds up to the sky! I hope you were successful at PC World!! Hugs, Darnell

  14. Totally adorable card Andrea! I still hanker after that stamp set and will no doubt cave in sometime soon!

Hope all is well with you - and am so with you about washing out on the line. Nothing as lovely as the smell of dried washing when you bring it indoors.

Really great to see you in the Playground.

    Hugs
