Peaceful Winter

What a week this is turning out to be.... aching back, neck and hands and a laptop that is literally only just surviving and is even held together with tape as the Glossy Accents didn't manage to do the repair job! Every time I switch it on I'm just keeping those aching fingers crossed that it'll start up and live a bit longer until my new one arrives next week. Then I'll have Windows 10 to get used and oh what fun I can imagine that will be!

But I have got a card to show you today that I made for a couple of challenges and also to try out one of my new Penny Black stamps called 'Peaceful Winter' which has several stamps in the set. I've gone for a very CAS design using one of the stamps inked with black and green Memento inks and then clear embossed. Up to this stage things were going okay, I'd trimmed and matted the image onto some green cardstock and stuck it to a card blank and then I decided to stamp the sentiment - from the Penny Black 'Sweetest Moments' set - straight onto the card. The black ink isn't so juicy (must buy another when I go shopping) so I was reinking the sentiment and even though I was using my (brand new) TH stamping platform I managed to move the card slightly on the third inking... OOPS!  Hubby said it looks as though it is a shadow and is okay and IRL it actually does look like that but the photo shows all and I think I may try to salvage things and stamp (more carefully) a new sentiment to cut out and cover this one.

I made this for the following challenges

Allsorts 'be there or be square'

Penny Black and More 'black and white plus one'

Thanks for popping by today and for taking the time to leave a comment. I'll be round to visit you all as soon as I can but will have too take things slowly as I'm having to carefully nurse this old laptop of mine through it's last few days and hopefully until my new one arrives !!

Beautiful card Kanda I love the image, but it's the sentiment that makes the card for me and I think as your husband does that it is a shadow effect.

Lovely card Andrea...what a beautiful says it all! Shame about the sentiment..I know if you are like me you like perfection and will not be happy till you have changed it....but i reckon it would pass really! Sorry the lap top is struggling...hope your new one arrives promptly.xx

Sounds like you are having a rotten week yet in spite of all that you have made this fab card. I love the shade of green you have used for the trees and I have to say I rather like the shadowy sentiment xx

A beautiful card Andrea, a super scene and great sentiment - it looks OK to me.
Sorry to hear that you are suffering at the moment and I hope you laptop lasts until the new one arrives. Windows 10 is very different but well worth getting used to.

My new IPad has arrived but I need to book a session with Apple on how to use it. You get 1/2hr tuition for free which I thought was pretty good.
Still hacked off with the hacked account . Just spent another frustrating day emailing back and forth with their customer services department. Finally got given a telephone number to ring which is not on their site so will do battle tomorrow trying to convince the company I am who I say I am and the reason they can't find my account is cos it is hacked and under a new name. Won't deal with me by email as my email address doesn't match the account details they have (which of course have been changed by the hacker and I don't know what it has been changed to). How I am supposed to prove who I am over the phone is going to be frustrating to say the least. Anyway your snowy scene is delightful and I think the sentiment matches the snow drift perfectly. hugs Mrs A.

Your winter scene is just as I remember from the days of my youth so I love it, Andrea! The little bit of shadow doesn't look at all bad on my monitor! I think you can leave it be (put my name on it!), but I do share your frustration. I, too, have discovered that stamping platforms are not infallible and I have had some very detailed card fronts ruined at the last moment. Sigh! Good luck with your new computer and Windows 10. We were expecting the worst, but actually it wasn't bad at all. You just need to find where they put photos, but once you know that, it should all be good. Check the box carefully to see if they sent you some new mojo, too!! Lots of hugs, Darnell

Love it Andrea, right up my street, thank for sharing with us at PB&M and Allsorts. Glad you like your platform, I also bought one a couple weeks ago and don't know why I resisted for so long. Hope your aches and pains soon ease, they promise sunshine next week. B x

You've created a beautiful scene, the stamp platform does make things like this easier (unless you move the card lol)
Hope next week is better for you. I need a new laptop but am struggling to find one with a disc drive in my price range, they're phasing them out apparently because they take up too much space
