Twofer

Only 3 days since my last post and here I am again with two cards for Darnell's new Twofer challenge. I used to love joining in with her NBUS challenges as it encouraged me to delve into my mountain of unused stash, so I was determined to join in with this new challenge. It actually was a challenge for me as the only feather stamp I owned has gone walkabouts so my feathers are in the shape of a very old Cheery Lyn Hummingbird die. At least in my search I did dig out a new stamp and some of my very old stash and now have two more cards made.

I'm heading over to the Twofer card challenge with these two cards

So in a bit more detail here's my first card.
I used one of my new (I've got so many uninked which I bought last year) Penny Black stamps 'delicate florals' and stamped a couple of times onto a card blank with grey, light blue and lilac inks, then added a sentiment from Clearly Besotted before sticking the Hummingbird in place. At this point I liked what I had made so resisted the temptation to add anything else..... I think this is the most CAS card I've ever made.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Penny Black and More challenge 'something new'

Stamping Sensations challenge 'cold and frosty colours'

AAA Cards challenge 'quote - let today be the start of something new'

Penny Black Saturday challenge 'anything goes'

For my second card I used a dotty embossing folder along with a Memory Box 'catalina wreath' which I stuck to a scalloped edge circle die-cut. Then a few flowers, pearls, silver peel-off sentiment and my Hummingbird and the card was finished.

I'm entering the Allsorts challenge 'no patterned paper' with this card

That really gave my crafting a kick-start, so a big thank you to Darnell and her super Design Team.... but now I really must go off and make a start on my granddaughter's birthday card!

These are beautiful, Andrea. Your CAS sympathy card is serene and lovely. The hummingbird fits the bill nicely for our feathers challenge, too. And your birthday card is so pretty! Love those pretty flowers you've added to your wreath. Thank you so much for joining us at the Twofer Challenge! Bev

It's so good to see you in the gallery, Andrea, and I'm delighted that the challenge has given you a kick-start to use that NBUS you bought last year! Yippie! Twofer and NBUS play well together!! Of course, you know you stole my heart using the sweet hummer! I love your QACAS design and your non-QACAS design and thank you for that since part of the challenge is to make two distinct designs! Your vine wreath and pretty flowers are lovely balanced elements with the hummer on your second card! I think of you often and hope you are both doing well!! Hugs, Darnell

I'm commenting now that my entry is in for the twofer challenge. I didn't want to nick any ones ideas if I could help it. Oh my goodness both of these cards are beautiful. The first so right for the ocassion and the second so different just by changing the embellishments. Hugs Mrs A.

Absolutely gorgeous! I have such a fondness for hummingbirds - we feed them each summer when they migrate here. Such a joy they are! Just popping in to thank you for the warm welcome back to my blog! I am doing things differently now and won't be able to visit much but wanted to say hello! Enjoy your evening!
