Merry Christmas

Hi everyone, I'm back (hopefully!) with another scheduled post to wish you all

MERRY CHRISTMAS

This is the shaker snowglobe card I made for my granddaughter. I used snippets of card for the snowflake and also a snippet of glitter paper for the snowglobe base - so I will (internet access permitting) head over and join in the fun at Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge.

I've another quick snippets make below - just some MFT die-cut trees folded and glued together to make a little decoration. This would work for any number of symmetrical die-cuts, but I reckon you could use asymmetrical die-cuts if you had an equal number and reversed every other one.

I hope you all have a wonderful christmas and new year and I'll be back to see you in a few weeks.

Unicorn and Rainbow

Hi everyone, this is a scheduled post 'cause I'm not here at the moment - and hopefully it's all worked as planned.

This is the card I've made for my granddaughter's birthday with her favourites....... unicorns and rainbows. Her birthday's not until February but I got it made early so that I'd be able to pop it in my suitcase and leave it with her Mom for the big day....... along with some rainbow and unicorn cake moulds.

Miss Di over at Pixie's Snippets Playground challenges to use up our snippets and hopefully I'll manage to link into the challenge later as I used loads of snippets to make this.

Red and Gold

I'm here today with a christmas card using another image from Kajsansscrapblog - again coloured with Promarkers and layered using some gold and red metallic card. A similar design to my last card but with the addition of 3 red gems.

I'm heading over to the following challenges with this

Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets'  the gold card was leftover from an A4 sheet and the star was cut from a snippet of red card

Passion for Promarkers challenge 'use 3 of something'  3 red gems

Rudolph Days November challenge

Less than a week to go and we'll be in December. I'll be going away in a few days time so won't be around Blogland until January. I know it's a bit early but I'd like to take this chance to wish you all a 'Merry Christmas' and hope you have a wonderful festive season.

Green, Gold and White Christmas

Just flying in today with another quick christmas make while I wait for some sticky stuff to dry!

This card uses a freebie digi image from Kajsansscrapblog coloured with Promarkers, layered onto metallic green and gold card, a computer generated sentiment and three die-cut stars. It was missing something but then I had a eureka moment and added a couple of googly eyes.... job done!

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Passion for Promarkers 'use 3 of something'  - 3 stars, 3 colours

Allsorts 'CAS christmas'  3rd entry

I'm off now to see if Hubby's made me a much needed cuppa tea - after all it is my birthday today! Thanks for taking the time to pop by.

Another Quickie

Over at Allsorts challenge the theme is 'CAS christmas' which is perfect for this time of year and here's a very CAS christmas card I made in a few minutes.

The fun image was from the internet, layered onto silver card, stuck to a card base and a peel-off sentiment added to finish it off.

So that's another card done and dusted, just the granddaughter's christmas card to get started on now!

Quick and CAS

Just popping by with a very quick CAS card which is just about all I'm making at the moment. Reading your posts I'm glad to see that it's not just me that thinks time is disappearing into thin air!

Okay, here are some cute robins from Stampendous, coloured with Promarkers, layered onto some gold card and a sentiment which I think is a LOTV stamp..... very quick..... very CAS!

I shall enter this in the following challenges ~

Allsorts 'CAS christmas'

Penny Black and More 'make someone smile'   2nd entry

Stamping Sensations 'get ready for christmas'  2nd entry

That's it from me for now, I'm off to hopefully get some crafty jobs done. Thanks for taking the time to pop by as I know you are all very busy with the 'C' day creeping up on us.

Turtles

Wow, that was another week over in a flash and still I'm chasing myself around in circles wondering what day of the week it is! On the plus side I have managed to get a card made ready for my daughter's birthday and with a matching tag from the leftovers.

Distress oxides used for the background and the stamps (which were fussy cut as I don't have the matching die) were coloured with Promarkers with a good winking on the coral and Sakura clear gel pen on the turtle shells. The die is Memory Box breezy waves and I used a corner punch on the tag.

I used leftover 'snippets' of the DO background for the tag and waves so I'm skipping over to join in the fun at Pixie's Snippets Playground and as I used 'dies and punches' on the tag I'm also heading over to the challenge at Dream Valley

Thanks for popping by today and I hope you have a fun weekend

Snippets

Where has this week gone to ? I'm sure the last few days absconded whilst I was sleeping 'cause I definitely remember it being Monday and thinking I'd got all week to make my snippets card..... but now it's Friday and I'm dashing over to Pixie's Snippets Playground to join in the fun before Parsnip gets his big key out and locks the Playground gate.

The dies are all cut from snippets of card and the decoupage image is from a House Mouse cd.

Right I'd better get myself into gear and get on with my granddaughter's christmas card before next week does another disappearing trick on me! Thanks for taking the time to pop by today and I hope you all have a great weekend.

More Christmas

Winter's certainly pushing autumn out of the door here and the woolly jumpers have come out..... before you know it'll be time for the hat, scarf and gloves to make an appearance! Anyway I'm here with a couple more christmas cards to show you.

Up first is an adorable Penny Black hedgie stamp 'here comes christmas' coloured with my usual Promarkers, glittered with Stickles, layered onto kraft and white card and finished with a Uniko sentiment from the 'most wonderful' stamp set.

I'm heading over to the following challenges with this:

Passion For Promarkers 'christmas or winter'

Winter Wonderland 'colour it'

Penny Black and More 'make someone smile'

Stamping Sensations 'get ready for christmas'

For my second card I've used an image from the House Mouse Triple Collection CD along with some paper and card candi from my stash and a sentiment recycled from a last years card.

This is for the following challenges:

Allsorts 'pretty papers'

CD Sunday 'christmas'

House Mouse & Friends 'anything goes / option - show us some snow'

Thanks for popping by today and for all your lovely messages. I'm off to ink up a new stamp set that dropped through the letterbox yesterday and than crack on with some more christmas cards. Take care and I hope you all have a good week.

Quick Christmas

Hi to you all on this lovely sunny autumn day.  It's almost November and before we can blink christmas will be here, so for my card today I have a very quick and easy make.

The stamp is from a Penny Black set called 'holly scroll' coloured with Promarkers and teamed up with a sentiment from another Penny Black set called 'sweetest moments'. Then after matting onto mirricard and sticking to the card blank I've another for the box. Super quick and easy!

I'm taking this over to the following challenges ~

Country View challenge 'plant-tastic'

Allsorts challenge 'traditional christmas colours'

Crafter's Castle challenge 'anything goes + option winter/christmas'  2nd entry

Penny Black Creative Christmas challenge 'holiday theme'  2nd entry

Rudolph Days October challenge 'anything goes christmas'

Happy Little Stampers Christmas challenge 'anything goes christmas + option ribbon'

Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas challenge 'anything goes christmas + option sentiment as focal point'

ABC Christmas challenge 'U for Upon, V for Very quick'

Okay that's all from me for today, I'm off now to do a few jobs and then a search for Mojo to help me with a few more christmas makes. Thanks for taking the time to pop by and visit.

Back again

Okay so who stole those last four weeks ? Just when I was getting into a routine jogging around Blogland again a huge pile of housework blocked the road, then I ended up making a detour and started on some christmas and other cards..... so I haven't been idle even though I've not been around

First up I've got a snippets card to show you. It's a very CAS design which is very much more my style nowadays as it's ideal for using up leftover bits and so quick and easy to make. The owls are Clearly Besotted, the branches are from MFT and the sentiment is a magazine freebie I've had in my box for several years!

This is for the following challenges ~

Pixie's Snippets Playground 'use snippets'

Alphabet 'O is for owls'

As You Like It 'clean and simple or fussy and fancy'

Next I have a christmas card using a House Mouse decoupage from the Triple CD Collection and yet another CAS design.

This is for the following challenges ~

Allsorts 'christmas'

Crafter's Castle 'anything goes with option winter/christmas'

Edited to add:
After a nudge from Annie I'm joining in with the challenge over at House Mouse & Friends

And finally here's a quick tag I made for the challenge over at Less Is More. The penguins are a PB stamp called Antarcticans.

So that's it from me for now. Thanks for popping by and I promise to catch up with you soon

Snippets and More

It's nearly two weeks since my last post and my only excuse is that Mojo has been having a great game of hide-and-seek with me but I am finally here with not one but THREE cards... although they are all pretty CAS and quick makes.

My first card....... I was very lucky to be winner at the Poppystamps challenge a few months ago and this 'Floral Cluster' die was part of my winnings. I worked out the layout of my card and die cut from the white layer, then after sticking this in place I inlaid the flowers which I'd cut from snippets of coloured card. As the background paper (a loose sheet - so not sure of the brand) was a shade of green I thought it looked nice showing through the leaves, so left it as is. Finally I stamped a Uniko sentiment from the 'Simply Said Birthday' set.

I'm heading over to the following challenges with this card

Pixie's Snippets Playground 'use your snippets'

Poppystamps challenge 'anything goes'

CAS on Friday challenge 'flowers'

Time Out challenge 'photo inspiration'  I was inspired by the flowers

Over at CD Sunday challenge the theme is 'G is for.....' so my next card features a cute mousie image from the House Mouse Decoupage Collection cd and my G is for get well and grapes. The background paper is another of my loose sheets but I think it may have been a magazine freebie.

Last but not least is a card I've made for the Penny Black Creative Christmas challenge. I used my PB 'Santa's Visit' stamp and using the Misti stamped it several times with Memento 'london fog' until it looked dark enough as I thought the grey would give it a softer finish than black. After matting onto black and gold card I stuck it to a hammered effect base card, gave it a dash of Stickles to make the snow glisten and then added a sentiment that was left over from a decoupage sheet. I thought this would be perfect for a male and would also be ideal for a 'batch' make. Looking at the card now I think clear embossing the image after inking would have given it a more finished look..... don't you agree?

and this one shows the glisten of the snow a bit better

Well it's turning rather autumnal here and no doubt christmas will be upon us before we know it so I'd better crack on with a few more of those festive cards. Thanks for taking the time to visit today and I hope you have a good week.

Autumn Thanks with a spot of Christmas and a Birthday thrown in

Hi everyone, well here we are in September and before you know it we'll be panicking about christmas and promising ourselves that we'll do better next year! I do have a christmas card to show you but first up is a snippets make....

The stamp I used for this is Penny Black 'sunny pair' which I stamped with yellow and green inks and coloured with pencil crayons before outlining the petals with a gel pen and giving them a glistening with a Wink of Stella pen that a very dear blogging friend sent me a while ago (a very big thank you..... you've now got me hooked!). I folded a leftover piece of spotted patterned thick card (maybe from The Hobby House?) for the base, added another leftover snippet of patterned paper on the front then a TH stitched rectangle die-cut before adding the (greatly cut down) image and a Lawn Fawn 'scripty thanks' die-cut.

I'm entering this in the following challenges ~

Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge as it's made entirely from snippets

Time Out challenge 'inspired by words'

Dream Valley challenge 'autumn colours'

Addicted to Stamps and More challenge 'make your mark'

So fast forward a few weeks and we're into christmas with a sweet image from the House Mouse Decoupage cd and a (Hunkydory?) paper. Not much else to say about this one as that little meecie conducting the choir has to take centre stage.

I'm entering this in the following challenges ~

Allsorts challenge 'things with wings'

CD Sunday challenge 'cool colours'

Papercraft challenge 'animals'

And finally I hope you'll join me in wishing MERVI a very happy 10th Blogaversary, and to celebrate she is hosting a card challenge with the theme (of course) of Birthday

This is the card I made to join her..... using another of those adorable House Mouse images this time from the House Mouse Triple cd, some papers from my scraps box, a LOTV sentiment and some flowers from my stash.

I hope you all have a great week whatever you have planned..... mine is catching up with the housework and trying to keep Mojo around as I have so many christmas cards to make! Thanks for popping by today and for taking the time to leave me a message.

Musical Mice and a Touch of Christmas

Hope you all had a great weekend and those of you in the UK are enjoying the extra day off work (well at least for some of you). I think the heatwaves are finally done with and we're back to normal British weather...... oh well, it was good while it lasted!

I'm back today with another twofer..... and first up is a card for the Allsorts challenge with the theme of 'music' and I don't think much explanation is needed - just a decoupaged image from the House Mouse Decoupage cd matted onto some card and then onto a 5x7 inch card base.

And my Twofer is one of my NBUS Penny Black stamps 'adorned abode' coloured with Promarkers and cut with Penny Black 'antique frame' dies. The image is bigger than on my card and the die is actually rectangular but as I wanted a 'square' I turned the die around and cut it again. I used some Stickles on the 'ornaments' and matted onto some glitter paper and a hammered effect base card. I have only just realised that I forgot to add a sentiment so will have to remedy that.

and here's one to show the glittery ornaments a bit better

This one is for the following challenges:

Penny Black and More 'I spy with the letter B'   bird, birdbox

Stamping Sensations ' use your current favourite stamp'

ABC Christmas 'P for plain, Q for quote, R for robin/rabbit' I went for robin

Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas challenge 'anything christmas goes optional reindeer'

Well, that's it from me for today. Thanks for popping by and for taking the time to leave me a comment to let me know you've been to visit. Hope you all have a wonderful (and maybe crafty) week.

I'm Back !

Hi everyone, remember me? Sorry for the disappearing act but Mojo went into hiding and I just needed a break from Blogland. The lovely weather we've been having has played a huge part as well as I just wanted to sit outside to relax and enjoy it. I am slowly getting back into the swing of things but not spending as much time on the computer as I used to.

Today I've a couple of cards to show you....

First up is a christmas card using dies from Sizzix TH sets 'stitched rectangle' and 'holiday greens' as well as a NBUS (bought ages ago) Poppystamps 'Lavinia snowflake ornament'. The dies were all cut from snippets of card with stick-it added to the back of the bits used for the ornament and branch before cutting (it was easier and quicker than using glue). To finish I added a bow and a Clearly Besotted stamped sentiment. Quite a quick make and it's nice and flat for posting.

I used snippets of card for this so I'm skipping over to Pixie's Snippets Playground to see Miss Di and the other Playmates.

I'm also joining in the challenges over at Creative Inspirations where the theme is 'holidays' and Addicted to Stamps and More where the theme is 'anything goes'.

For my second card I got out the Promarkers and coloured up a Mo Manning digi, stamped a LOTV sentiment and put it all together with bits and pieces from my stash. I made this for the 'happy birthday' theme at Passion For Promarkers challenge.

So that's it from me for today... but before I go I just want to say a very big thank you to all my wonderful blogging friends for sticking with me.

Birthdays and Bees

Hi everyone, firstly I want to apologise to anyone in the UK who is experiencing anything less than glorious sunshine as I believe the garden parasol we purchased the other day may be the cause of the change in the weather..... we've not used it once yet!

Anyways, I can't believe I'm back again so soon with a couple more cards to show you. First up is a 5x5 inch card with a LOTV stamp coloured with Promarkers and cut into a circle. Then the layout came from jiggling about a snippet of paper I'd got and then chopping the side off the circle before finally stamping the Uniko sentiment.

I shall head over to the following challenges with this

Pixie's Snippets Playground 'use your snippets'

AAA Cards 'the Big Birthday bash'

CAS on Friday 'birthday'

CAS-ual Fridays 'birthday celebrations'

Passion for Promarkers 'birthday creations'   my 2nd entry

Penny Black and More 'anything goes'   my 2nd entry

For my twofer I've used a House Mouse (Happy Hoppers) decoupage that I made up some time ago when I was in the mood for sitting with the scissors and cutting away quietly. I managed to find a sheet of purple paper with little yellow dots, the last little bit of yellow ribbon and a few yellow flowers as well as some purple rhinestones to pop in the middles... so a bit of sticking and job done!
I must admit that after all these years I'm still a sucker for these cute little critters as they are perfect for cards to delight the young and old alike.

I shall head over to the following challenges with this

Allsorts  'insects, bugs, bees and butterflies.

As You Like It  'flora or fauna and why' I do love flowers but they just can't compete with these cute critters!

I'm doing pretty well with my clear out and hopefully when I've got a clearer cupboard and workspace it will keep me craftily motivated. Thanks for popping by and I hope you have a great week and for those of you in the UK I hope you enjoy the rest of the long weekend.

Threefer

Hi everyone and thanks for popping by today. I know I've been missing for a while but it was due to all this fabulous sunshine we've been having as well as getting to grips with my new laptop and getting on with all of those boring jobs that just can't be put off any longer. Mojo also decided to do a complete disappearing act and I did start wondering whether or not I wanted to carry on with blogging as I feel like I've been chasing my tail the last few months..... but I've decided to carry on for a while longer as my Dad's house will finally be someone else's at the end of the month and then maybe I'll feel more motivated.

In the meantime I've started another (more serious) clean out of my crafty stash and in the process put together this threefer to join in with a few challenges - and to be quite honest there is only one of these cards I enjoyed making.

First is a birthday card using a Mo Manning image coloured with Promarkers, a LOTV sentiment and papers, ribbon and gems from my stash.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Allsorts 'happy birthday'

Passion for Promarkers 'birthday creations'

Cupcake Inspirations 'pastels'

Addicted to Stamps 'ribbons galore'

Let's Craft and Create 'anything goes + option lace, ribbon, twine

Second uses an NBUS Woodware stamp coloured with Promarkers. I know this stamp looks much better when it is paper pieced but to be quite honest I just couldn't be bothered so I just added a TH die-cut foam snowflake,

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Country View 'be humourous'

Penny Black and More 'anything goes'

Rudolph Days 'May challenge'

And finally my threefer snippets make which is 5x5 inch and uses only leftover card and stuff from my stash (which has now been reduced in size and fits neatly in labelled boxes). This is the only card I really enjoyed making and I'm popping it in my satchel and skipping over to see Miss Di, Parsnip and the Playmates over at Pixie's Snippets Playground

and here's a glimpse of the inside

Thanks for your visit and continued support and I hope 'normal service will be resumed as soon as possible' Until then I hope you all have a wonderful crafty weekend and hopefully some wonderful weather for the Bank Holiday,

Santa's Helper

What a change in the weather and how lovely to be able to sit out in the garden. The washing machine has been working overtime as anything that can be washed has been washed and hung out on the line to dry - I still can't understand why it gives me so much pleasure to dry the washing outside! The downside to this lovely weather is the weeding we've got to do at my Dad's house as I'm certain prospective buyers don't want to be greeted by foot-high dandelions along the driveway, no matter how bright and cheerful they look!

Anyway enough of my waffling as I'm here to show off some new goodies I treated myself to in the shape of MFT 'Santa's Elves' stamp set and matching dies. I used my usual Promarkers to colour the tree and one of the elves (there are 3 in the set) with Stickles on the fur and a glitter sakura pen for the star and hat bell. The scalloped circle was die-cut from glitter paper that had been stuck to some card and the plain circle was die-cut and then run through with a dotty embossing folder to give it a bit of texture. I used one of the sentiments from the stamp set and after I put it all together I added some pearls and gemstones.

and here's one that shows the glitter a bit better

I'm heading over to the following challenges

MFT Sketch challenge
this sketch

ABC Christmas challenge 'H for hats and/or I for ice'

As You Like It challenge 'favourite colouring medium and why' (my 2nd entry - my trusty Promarkers always work well for me)

Allsorts challenge 'use pearls'

and as I used snippets of card and glitter paper I shall head over to Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge to see Miss Di, Parsnip and the other Playmates

That's all from me today - we're off to do some shopping and as I'm still limping along with my very sick laptop we'll also head into PC World and hopefully get me a new one. Thanks for popping by today and I will be round to catch up with you all just as soon as I can.... even if I have to liberate Hubby's tablet to do the job.

Spring... At Last

Well I hope you all survived Friday the 13th without anything too disasterous happening! I had a quiet day making sure I didn't do anything to tempt bad luck and instead inked up some of my new stamps and made a card for a few spring themed challenges. I've gone for a one layer card for a change and used a Penny Black stamp 'Potted Flowers' which I coloured with my usual Promarkers, with chalks for the background and I added a Wink of Stella - a gift from a wonderful blogging friend - on the butterflies. I'm really not very adventurous with my colouring mediums and always end up going back to my trusty Promarkers for colouring images - not only do they work for me but I have quite a collection of colours that would like to use before they start drying out (I've already had to throw a few away) !

I'm entering this in the following challenges ~

As You Like It 'favourite colouring medium and why'

Time Out 'spring + optional twist one layer'

Allsorts 'spring flowers or showers'

Love To Scrap 'April showers bring May flowers'

Words 2 Craft By 'the promise of April'

That's it from me for today, I'm off to enjoy the rest of this warm sunny day and check out all the plants and flowers that are beginning to wake up after the loooong winter. Thanks for popping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Peaceful Winter

What a week this is turning out to be.... aching back, neck and hands and a laptop that is literally only just surviving and is even held together with tape as the Glossy Accents didn't manage to do the repair job! Every time I switch it on I'm just keeping those aching fingers crossed that it'll start up and live a bit longer until my new one arrives next week. Then I'll have Windows 10 to get used and oh what fun I can imagine that will be!

But I have got a card to show you today that I made for a couple of challenges and also to try out one of my new Penny Black stamps called 'Peaceful Winter' which has several stamps in the set. I've gone for a very CAS design using one of the stamps inked with black and green Memento inks and then clear embossed. Up to this stage things were going okay, I'd trimmed and matted the image onto some green cardstock and stuck it to a card blank and then I decided to stamp the sentiment - from the Penny Black 'Sweetest Moments' set - straight onto the card. The black ink isn't so juicy (must buy another when I go shopping) so I was reinking the sentiment and even though I was using my (brand new) TH stamping platform I managed to move the card slightly on the third inking... OOPS!  Hubby said it looks as though it is a shadow and is okay and IRL it actually does look like that but the photo shows all and I think I may try to salvage things and stamp (more carefully) a new sentiment to cut out and cover this one.

I made this for the following challenges

Allsorts 'be there or be square'

Penny Black and More 'black and white plus one'

Thanks for popping by today and for taking the time to leave a comment. I'll be round to visit you all as soon as I can but will have too take things slowly as I'm having to carefully nurse this old laptop of mine through it's last few days and hopefully until my new one arrives !!

Uniko Stripes and Gerberas

I'm here today with a card I made for the Uniko challenge which has a colour theme with the optional twist of easter, but as easter has now passed us by I've just gone for the colours. I've used the Uniko 'Background Blocks Horizontal Stripes' inked with Memento Dewdrop inks and Uniko 'Pure Florals Gerbera' coloured with pencils and cut with the matching die (I'm so glad I treated myself to that) and to finish I added some Card Candi coloured with a Promarker. I decided against adding a sentiment at this stage and will add one depending on the occasion when I come to send it.

Edited to add:

A very dear blogging friend has brought to my notice that this may not have been the best of photos (taking photos of cards is not one of my strong points) so I'm adding another brighter one

I also managed to incorporate all of the colours in the palette in my card

I've got a few more fabulous uninked Uniko stamps and stencils to have a play with so will have more to show you over the next or so. Thanks for popping by today and for the taking the time to leave a comment and I hope you all have a great weekend.
