Snippets and Glitter

Hi to all you crafty people, I hope you're having a good start to the weekend. I've got a couple of cards to show you today which I made to try and get myself motivated while Mojo is absent.

First off I headed for the pile of card snippets and cut a few of the Memory Box 'chloe stems' die. This is one of my favourite dies that I've had for a few years now and it doesn't cut as well as it used to (no matter what I try) so I ended up getting the scissors out to snip those last little bits. The sentiment is a HLS stamp from the 'mix mash' set.

The stems are actually more autumnal looking but in the photo the greens looks a bit blueish and the rust red looks pinkish. Who says the camera never lies?... and I did try it on various settings!

I'm heading over to the following challenges with this

Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets'

Memory Box challenge 'falling for fall autumn cards'

Next up I've gone all glittery for my christmas card covering the card base with an Xcut adhesive glitter sheet. I used a magazine freebie embossing folder and dies from Marianne Designs, Tattered Lace and Tim Holtz.

I'm heading over to the following challenges with this

Double D challenge 'glitter glitter glitter'

Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge 'sketch'

Christmas Cards All Year Round challenge 'use leaves'

Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas challenge 'anything goes christmas + option add some flowers or foliage'

I'm way behind today as I overslept this morning so I'm off to try and get all the jobs done so that I can have a crafty play later. Take care and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

  6. Always love Poinsettias Andrea, but I very much like the dies you used on the first. Have you tried using some baking foil and running through your machine with the die, often it sharpens the cutting edge.

  23. Hi Andrea . . . I am totally with you on the Chloe Stem die . . . a definite favourite and I love the card you've made with it. Perfect way to use up snippets. However, in frustration with its poor cutting and the amount of tearing involved trying to get the paper out of the die (despite adding release foam to the die) - I had GREAT SATISFACTION in bending the blinking die in half and lobbing it in the bin the other day! Had enough!
