Beside the Seaside

Although it's a bit chilly for anything more than a paddle today!

I've had this little project in mind for a week or so now and finally got round to making it yesterday. It's a booklet for notes, stories, drawings, photos or whatever and made from a couple of sheets white A4 card and whatever else was lying around.

First I cut the A4 sheets into three and hole punched each of the pieces before scoring all except one (for the back sheet) to make it easy to fold the pages and then tying together with some bits of ribbon.
To make the beach scene I coloured a piece of white card with some chalk for the sky and used Memento ink for the sun. Then I added a piece of coloured card for the sand, and the sea is an embossed piece of card again coloured with Memento ink - both pieces were cut at the top with Tonic Studio fancy edging scissors. I made some little beach huts from snippets of card and layered the scene onto some blue shiny card before sticking to the front of the booklet.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

The Craft Barn challenge 'beach scene with a beach hut'
Time Out challenge 'holidays with option of no stamping'
Unstampabelles challenge 'anything but a card'
Country View challenge 'hot summer days'
Creative Inspirations challenge 'seaside, sunshine and summer holidays'
Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets'

Thanks for taking the time to pop by today and I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.

It's a lovely summery creation Andrea, beach houses always remind me of childhood as all the seaside resorts seemed to have them in those days.

Absolutely delightful! It's gorgeous weather down south, so this project works for me!

PS: See me behind the bike sheds (1 week only) . . . I've got a summer cocktail on the go and I think you'll like it!

Hi Andrea,
what a brilliant booklet, and I do love the beach hut scene you have created on it very clever idea.
These would be very lovely for all occasions, and especially at Christmas as you could put photos of Christmas in them as memory albums.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

We do not have them in British Columbia where I live. I loved them when I was in England and wish we had them here too!
