Penny Black Poppies

The sun has been making a few appearances of late, my Dad is out of hospital and doing pretty well, and I'm feeling much better now.... so fingers crossed all the good stuff continues.

This is a new Penny Black stamp I treated myself to called 'Poppy Gems' which I loved playing with and I know will be one of my favourites. I coloured with Promarkers and then cut down to fit a 4x6 inch card blank. The sentiment is a Clearly Besotted stamp and I wrapped some Baker's Twine around the card to finish. After looking at the photo I think it may look better if I add some glossy accents or tiny black beads to the poppy centres.... what do you think?

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Penny Black and More challenge 'birthdays'

Lawnscaping challenge 'beautiful florals'

That's Crafty challenge 'all things bright and beautiful'

AAA Cards challenge 'anything goes CAS'

Thanks for popping by today and I hope the sun is shining on you wherever you are.

Poppies, glorious Poppies Andrea, what more is there to say than I absolutely love both the blooms and intensity of colour.

Pleased to hear your Dad is out of hospital and hope he continues to improve. Apols if I missed a post or two, was away for a few days then not so good since we returned.

Many thanks for joining us at penny Black and More challenge.

Hi Andrea,
what a wonderful card, and that stamped image of those poppies is glorious.
You have coloured them in perfectly.
You could be right about the glossy accents, but it also looks very fine as it is.
I some times use very small beads in the middle of my flowers.
So glad you are feeling better, and also I do hope you Dad continues to improve.
It can be a very worrying time and stressful when they are in hospital.
Bug crafty get well hugs being sent your way.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

I do love poppies on a card (almost as much as butterflies!) and these are coloured beautifully. I noticed my poppies are coming up again this year in the garden. I have a pretty dark pink one. hugs Mrs A.

such a beautiful birthday card with those bright red poppies! it's perfect the way it is, but if you wanted a bit of dimension, i like black stickles or flower soft for flower centres. thank you so much for sharing this lovely creation with us at penny black and more.
