Clearly Besotted Rose

I'm sorry I've not been around to visit for the past week but Dad was readmitted to hospital and I've not been feeling too great either, so pretty much running on empty and only switched on the laptop to send a few emails. I managed to get a doctor's appointment today and now I'm on a course of antibiotics so hopefully I'll soon be feeling a bit more human!

This card is one I made over the easter weekend using paper from my snippets box and a Clearly Besotted stamp. I know it must be me but I find it very hard to get a good clean stamped image with the Clearly Besotted solid stamps, so I used a Sakura pen for the white lines before hand cutting and attaching with sticky pads. I added some gems and a peel-off sentiment from my stash to finish, but must admit I'm not at all happy with the finished card - so possibly probably destined for the bin.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets'

Penny Black and More challenge 'birthdays'

Stamping Sensations challenge 'one for the girls'

I'm also entering this in Lawnscaping challenge 'beautiful florals'

Thanks for taking the time to pop by and I'll catch up with you as soon as I can so please don't think I'm ignoring you if I don't get back to visit you straight away.

  9. Oh Andrea - such a worrying time. Hope your Dad is home really soon - he's a bit like family to many of us in the Playground so please send him (Doug) our love!

And also you need to take some 'me' time as well, hard though it is :(

LOVE your card - please don't bin it, much too pretty! I hear what you say about the stamps being a bit of a pain. I have a Uniko balloons set that no amount of faffing round with the Misti would cure - not when it's got a big 'ding' in a solid part, sigh :( But, you rescued brilliantly!

Take care and here's hoping for good news soon!

    Hugs

    Di xx

  10. Your card is pretty Andrea, the pink and black is a lovely combination. When I have trouble with solid stamps I rub over the surface very gently with sandpaper, try it with one that doesn't really matter - it works every time for me.
I'm sorry you are poorly and that Dad is back in hospital - you have a lot of stress in your life at the moment, take care.

  13. HI Andra . . . hope you feel better soon. Sending get well wishes your way for you AND your Dad.

It's often the case with large solid areas of stamps, that the ink doesn't always stamp as smoothly as we want. You're not alone!
