Baby Granddaughter

Hi everyone and thanks for popping by. Well as you may have guessed from the title of this post I became a grandma for the first time on Friday 12th February when my daughter gave birth to a beautiful 7lb baby girl. A few hiccups along the way but all is okay now and mum, dad and baby are home and getting used to being a family.

This is the card I made for my son to send them and I must admit to using this super card by Pauline of Crafting with Cotnob as my inspiration. The image is a digi stamp from Di's Digi Designs called 'animal shelf' coloured with my usual Promarkers and the sentiment is from Clearly Besotted stamps. I cut it to fit a snippet of paper from Dovecraft and added a ribbon and the little charm. To finish I added a couple of very old buttons (one heart shaped) from when my daughter was a baby.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets'  I'm hoping Brenda will break out the champagne in the Treehouse while Miss Di is otherwise engaged and Sarn is on prefect duties
Mod Squad challenge 'from the heart'
Winter Wonderland challenge 'have a heart
Creative Artiste challenge 'anything goes with mixed media
Ooh La La challenge 'clean and simple'
Great Impressions challenge 'let's celebrate'
Catch the Bug challenge 'keep it simple'
The Ribbon Girl Card challenge 'anything goes'
Sweet Stampin' challenge 'CAS clean and simple'

And I can't go without being a proud granny and showing you a photo. Just wish I could pick her up and give her a cudddle and a kiss.

Hi Andrea . . . MANY CONGRATULATIONS to your and your family on the new addition. Your card looks so cute and wonderful, as does your little granddaughter.

That deserves a glass of Prosecco don't you think? Apparently Brenda has some hidden in the Playground Tree house.

Hugs, Sarn xxx

Huuuuuuuge congratulations Andrea and what a beautiful baby she looks. I know just how thrilled you must be feeling, all our grandchildren are special but there is that extra bit of excitement with the first.

And what a lovely card for your son to send them.

Ans yes I do have some Prosecco stashed under a bench up in the treehouse, but I think I cane find something even better with bubble given the celebration in store.

Well that is the cutest shelf I've ever seen. I love that image and you got your inspiration from one of the best. You did nice soft sweet colors, perfect for a baby card. The great is beautiful but your granddaughter is so=imply gorgeous and so peaceful looking. Sorry there were hiccups along the way, but looks as though everything is smooth sailing from here on out. Thanks so much for sharing her picture. Have a wonderful week.

I see on looking at your blog and lovely cards that your daughter is in Australia......this is spooky, although my son ad DIL are at present in London she is from Australia and they are planning moving out there, back to her family next January!....Anyway lets sneak behind the bike sheds and crack open a couple of bottles of Champagne! Many congratulations, she is absolutely beautiful. I became a Grandma, or Sandma in my case eighteen months ago and then again in September and I can honestly say that it's one of the best things that's ever happened to me. Grandchildren are an absolute joy and you have so much more time to enjoy them than when you're busy being a parent yourself. Enjoy every second with your little one as they grow up so fast. Squee! I am so, so happy for you Andrea! I thought I had commented already, but I've popped over from Pixie's to double-check and I'm glad I did so I could write again! Being a grandmother is the best blessing on earth!! Congratulations to everyone on the birth of this beautiful healthy little girl! Your card is perfection and you nearly moved me to tears when I read about the buttons!! Enjoy it all!!! Hugs, Darnell
