Something New

New Years Eve already but there won't be any partying going on here this year.... I had to get the emergency doctor out for Hubby yesterday as he's managed to come down with the Norovirus (probably caught from the hospital when he went for his outpatient appointment on Wednesday) and my Dad ended up back in  hospital on Thursday (this time with a hernia)!

At least we all still have our sense of humour and here's a card using a fun image from Bugaboo coloured with my usual Promarkers. I used my brand new Sizzix Tim Holtz stitched rectangles to die cut the image before matting onto some red card. The background paper is from Raspberry Road Designs, the butterfly is a Penny Black die and the ribbon and gems are from my stash.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Allsorts challenge 'something new'
Passion For Promarkers challenge 'die cuts / punches'
Catch The Bug challenge 'make us laugh'
Tuesday Morning Sketches 'anything goes' and I also used one of your old sketches

Thanks for popping by and before you go I'd like to thank you for all your visits during the past year.

Wishing you all a very Happy and Healthy New Year

Crazy Bird Snippets

Hi everyone, I'm just popping by with a snippets make so that I can head over to the Playground and see what the Playmates are up to and see if there are any mince pies left.

This card is made entirely from snippets of paper and card.... I cut the bottom of the papers to turn them into banners, cut the sentiment with a Tattered Lace die and the stars with Xcut dies. The Tim Holtz crazy bird is coloured with Promarkers with a touch of Sakura clear glaze pen then cut with the matching die and a googly eye added. I hand cut his hat and used glitter pens to add the dots, and to finish it all off I added some card candi.

The colours look a bit washed out in the photo and IRL it's a lot more cheerful (but it may just be my laptop screen)

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets'

Passion For Promarkers challenge 'use your dies / punches'

Sparkles Monthly challenge 'happy birthday'

Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge 'anthing goes'

Thanks for taking the time to pop by today and for all your lovely comments.... and don't forget you've got until the 31st December before the Playground gates shut.

Christmas Poinsettia

I hope you all had a wonderful christmas day and lots of crafty goodies from Santa.

This is the very easy christmas card I made for my Dad using Hunkydory magazine freebies with the addition of some die-cut holly leaves and letters.

I shall head over with this to Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas challenge 'use a sentiment' and also Winter Wonderland challenge 'for someone special / happy new year'

I'm off to have a bit of a crafty play now with anything but christmas goodies! Thanks for popping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of the holiday.

Merry Christmas Everyone

I hope you are all well and ready for the big day tomorrow, but if not then just crack open that bottle of wine and relax! I'm glad to say that both Hubby and Dad are out of hospital now and are on the mend so fingers crossed we'll all be starting off the New Year a bit healthier.

This is my card for the Cuttlebug Mania challenge where the theme is 'christmas with any colour except red or green' I've used a decoupaged image from a Joanna Sheen cd matted onto gold mirricard and with Tattered Lace poinsettia and mistletoe dies cut with my Tattered Lace Baby Blue (I do love that machine)

I'd like to thank you all for your visits and support during the past year and to wish you

a very Merry Christmas

Christmas Bauble and an apology

Hi everyone, hope all is well with you. Let me start off with an apology.... things have got a bit mad here and I've not been able to get to visit you as I should this past week. It's been the usual (food) shopping madness along with physiotherapy appointment, then my dad was admitted to hospital again on Wednesday and my dear Hubby had a spinal operation yesterday. So you can probably guess that my mind hasn't really been on crafting or blogging.

Anyways before I go I'll show you the christmas bauble that I made for my darling little miss Cutie Pie (my granddaughter). This is the same Mo Manning digi that I used for her card and again coloured with Promarkers and sparkled with Stickles. I made the sentiment on the computer and used Xcut nesting dies to cut that and the image as well as the red mirricard for matting. I added some sleigh bells and charms to each side and then glued it all together with Glossy Accents - I guessed that would be strongest and safest as I didn't want the risk of it coming apart if she played with it. Finally I tied a piece of velvet ribbon to hang it up.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Passion for Promarkers 'mega christmas challenge '
Winter Wonderland 'for someone special / happy new year'

Crafty Ribbons 'christmas theme creations'
Deep Ocean 'silent night'

Thanks for popping by and for your greatly appreciated comments and I will catch up with all as soon as I can.

More Christmas

Just popping by today with a couple more christmas cards.

The first is a shaker card I made using some Hunkydory goodies, a couple of die-cut Tattered Lace snowflakes and some tiny punched snowflakes for the shaker element.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets' (the die-cut and punched snowflakes)

My second card has a decoupage image from the Joanna Sheen Holly Pond Hill Christmas cd matted onto gold mirricard and a Clearly Besotted stamped sentiment. I did see over at the Joanna Sheen shop that this CD is half price at the moment, so here's the link if you're interested.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Allsorts challenge 'christmas lights'

Thanks for taking the time to pop by today as I know - if you're anything like me - that things are rather hectic trying to get organised for christmas.

Snowmen

I can't believe I'm back so soon with another card but this was a very quick and simple make. My printer has been leaving horrible black streaks on the paper so after Hubby cleaned up the rollers I printed off some digistamps to check all was good (and it was).

This is a Bugaboo image coloured with my usual Promarkers and a Clearly Besotted sentiment stamp, then attached straight onto a base card.... nice and flat for posting.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Catch the Bug Holiday Chaos Day 4 challenge 'clean as snow'
I Love Promarkers challenge 'snowman'
CASology challenge 'space'
Country View challenge 'christmas'

Thanks for popping by today and I do hope you have a good weekend

Winter Wonderland

Hi everyone thanks for popping by today and a special hello to my newest follower Migdalia.

I've got another christmas card to show you today using a decoupage image from the Joanna Sheen 'Holly Pond Hill' christmas cd. It went a bit wonky when I was layering up so I had to trim and layer it onto some blue shiny card before sticking to the base card. The holly is a Tattered Lace die with some pearls for the berries and the sentiment is from Hunkydory. I think this image is so lovely with all the lights sparkling in the snowy evening.

and here's one showing the layers

I shall enter this in the following challenges

CD Sunday 'white christmas'
Cuttlebug Mania 'shine'
Winter Wonderland 'frame it or night scene'

So that's it from me today.... I'm off now to put up the christmas decorations and get my Dad's birthday card made.

Christmas Cupcake

Here's a card I made yesterday just for fun and to join in with a few challenges. It's a Bugaboo digi stamp 'christmas cupcake' which I coloured with Promarkers and added a liberal helping of Stickles on the berries and the frosting. The image was attached with sticky pads and I added a silver peel off sentiment. A very quick and CAS design which would be ideal for a batch make.

It really does sparkle so much more IRL than the photo shows.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Catch The Bug Holiday Chaos - Day 1 challenge 'all that sparkles'
Passion For Promarkers challenge 'eat, drink & be merry'
Allsorts challenge 'CAS'
Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas challenge 'vintage or anything goes christmas'

My Beary First Christmas

Hi everyone, sorry I've not been to visit for the last few days but I've been a tad on the busy side with physio appointments and christmas shopping for my little miss Cutie Pie as well as finishing cards to go in the post. I'm glad to say that the parcel is now winging it's way to Australia.... via Santa of course!

The problem with being a granny for the first time was that I had such a problem deciding on the design for her first christmas card and there are soooo many cute images to pick from, but when I saw this one from Mo manning called 'beary merry christmas' I fell in love with it. I ended up buying this as a digistamp but Penny Black do have it in cling rubber - I just couldn't find anywhere that had it in stock. I coloured it with my usual Promarkers and added Stickles to the fur on the hat. I matted the image onto silver mirri card and then added a Memory Box die-cut frostyville border across the top before wrapping a piece of ribbon around to hang the baubles from. The sentiments were made on the computer and cut with Spellbinders ornament dies and attached on sticky pads with bakers twine to tie them up and finally I added some shabby rose organza trim across the bottom.

So this is the finished card.... and I went on to make a christmas bauble with the same image but I'll show you that another time. Sorry about the photos but the light wasn't very good and I needed to get it posted.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets' the dies all cut from snippets

A Christmas Star

No prizes for guessing what type of card I have to show you today... yes it's christmas. Next week is December so I guess it's time to officially start to panic and 4 weeks today I'll be telling myself that I need to be more organised in future!

When starting this card I really didn't have any design plan in my head due to Mojo still hiding away somewhere (probably off in search of christmas pressies) so it was just a case of trying different things until I came up with the finished card.

I used a new stamp I got from Penny Black called 'little elf kit' which I coloured with Promarkers and added Stickles on the 'fur' parts of the elf's outfit and paper pieced the star with glitter paper. The red spotty paper is a leftover bit from my oddments box so no idea where from but guessing it may have been a magazine freebie ages ago. I used twine to tie some little sleigh bells before adding some stars die-cut from snippets and the sentiment is a Clearly Besotted stamp.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Country View challenge 'stars'
Penny Black and More challenge 'anything christmas'
Stamping Sensations challenge 'christmas greetings'
Uniko challenge 'christmas'
Passion for Promarkers challenge '3 favourite colours' red, green, white

DP2 challenge 'anything Mo goes'
Sparkles Monthly challenge 'christmas is coming' 2nd entry

Birthday Trio

Well that certainly was a wet day yesterday... it was my birthday but I decided to spend it at home and stay dry and warm! I'm popping by with a quick post today to show you a card I made using some wonderful little dogs cut with an All Occasion Dies which was one of 3 sets of dies which I won in a challenge over at CD Sunday (thanks so much for this fabulous win). I used a snippet of black card to cut the dogs and placed three of them (there are 6 in total) on a piece of card which I'd cut with a Memory Box 'piestra tile' die, then added a leftover snippet of DP behind that before sticking to the base card. To finish I stamped a Happy Little Stamper sentiment from the 'mix mash' stamp set.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets'

The ABC challenge 'T is for three'

CAS on Sunday challenge 'pets'

Thanks for taking the time to pop by at such a busy time. I'm chasing round trying to get on top of things to be ready for christmas this year.... but that would be a first for me! It's the overseas posting date I'm in a panic over and it doesn't help that my Mojo keeps playing hide and seek.

Another Christmas Card

Well it's Tuesday already and I'm still trying to get through that mountain of jobs and I really have to find my Mojo (I've looked everywhere) as I've got a special card to get made for my little Miss Cutie Pie's first christmas.

But today I'm here with another of those quick and CAS cards using up snippets which I'm making to take to the RSPCA re-homing charity shop that's just opened up where I live.... hopefully it will raise a few pennies for them and also reduce my ever growing pile of crafty stash. I found this unused TPS 'christmas elf' digi image the other day when backing up my files and thought I should give it an outing, so printed it off and coloured it with Promarkers with the addition of Stickles and also a Sakura glitter pen. I used a Uniko stamp set 'background builders christmas' which I was lucky enough to win - huge thanks to Uniko and Passion for Promarkers - to print the sentiment across the top and bottom before adding the snippet of LOTV paper and the image which I matted onto mirricard. To finish I added a Tattered Lace die-cut snowflake.

It's a bit of a dull day here and the card actually glistens a lot more than the photo shows.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

The Paper Shelter 'christmas is coming'
Allsorts 'feature a creature'
Passion For Promarkers 'christmas is coming'
Christmas at Sweet Stampin 'anything christmas goes'
Crafty Creations 'animals' 2nd entry

Thanks for your visit today and I hope you all have a great week.

Thanks

Well it's lovely and sunny here so hopefully it will motivate me to get lots done today.... and I really do have to get a move on with so many jobs. But before that I thought I'd pop in with my very quick and CAS snippets card which uses a leftover piece of LOTV paper, Memory box die 'prim poppies' and Poppystamps die 'general store tag', Clearly Besotted 'thank you' stamp and a bow.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Pixie's Snippets Playground ' use snippets'
Mod Squad 'thankful'
Memory Box 'giving thanks'
Poppystamps 'plaid is rad'
AAA Cards 'thanks / thanksgiving'
Words 2 Craft By 'small hearts large gratitude'

So now I'm off to do some excercises the physio set me and then make a start on those jobs. Thanks for popping by today.... I really do appreciate your visits.

Winter Wishes

Hi everyone, I'm here with another christmas card and hopefully I will get all done in time for christmas this year! I can't take any of the credit for the design of this as my hubby picked everything out from an assortment of crafty stash that was on the table and he also told me where to place everything.... I was just his assistant and did the sticking.

The fabulous image of the pets looking at the snowman is from the LOTV art pad 'christmas eve' and was matted onto a piece of gold mirricard which had accidentally been debossed in the embossing folder. The background paper is Bo Bunny, the snowflakes are a Memory box die with card candi centres, the gems are from my stash and to finish just added a recycled sentiment (saved from last years shop bought cards).

Unfortunately the photo doesn't show it too well but IRL the card really gives the impression of a lovely golden sparkle and shine just like you get from the winter sun on snow.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Fussy and Fancy Friday 'ice / snow with texture and sparkles'
ABC Christmas 'W for wishes'
Crafty Creations 'animals'
Noor Design UK 'winter'
HLS November 'anything goes with dies'

Thanks for popping by and I hope you all have a great weekend.

Fluttering By

Good evening everyone and I hope you've all had a great weekend. I really should have spent my day doing some housework but instead I've been very lazy apart from having a little crafty play.

I missed out on joining in the fun with the Playmates last week so I was determined to get there early this week and I also wanted to have a play with a new die that I'd bought. I've had several butterfly dies but when I saw this Penny Black (set of 2 dies) in the sale and with free shipping I just had to buy it.

This card was one of those that just came about with no real planning apart from a few elements needed for challenge themes. The silver mirricard was a snippet and the embossed card I'd got leftover from another project was trimmed to fit, Then began my search for a butterfly sentiment and the only stamp I could find was a Clearly Besotted 'flutterby' which I stamped 3 times. I stuck the panel to a card base and then added the Penny Black butterfly die with a couple of silver gems added and made a bow with some silvery ribbon I found in my stash.

Of course it was a nightmare to photograph with the silver and white and this is the best I got

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Fireworks

Hi everyone, well after a lovely start to the day it's definitely turned a lot colder and bleaker but then we have arrived at November and bonfire night. I was listening to all the whooshes and bangs last night and suddenly remembered the challenge over at The Craft Barn which I'd intended to join in with. The theme is fireworks so out came my Clearly Besotted 'dandelion dreams' stamps as to my eyes they so resemble the 'ooh and aah' explosions you see for several nights running at this time of year. I got an assortment of Memento inks and stamped (fairly randomly) onto linen weave card and then stamped a Clearly Besotted sentiment. At this point I decided I wasn't too keen on the all white base so trimmed and added it to a base card cut from a sheet of Shades cardstock and to finish I glued on some sequins.

Thanks for popping by today and to those of you participating in the 'oohs and aahs' I hope the weather stays dry for you. We're off to my Dad's now....... he phoned to say he had a creaky floorboard which he decided to take up but can't get back down!

House Mice

Morning everyone, I'm here with a very quick post as I have so many jobs to do today. At least the weather is being kind to us.....  a frosty start this morning but glorious sunshine and I've got the washing out on the line - I do love the freshness of outdoor dried bedding.

Anyways here's another christmas card and it's another decoupaged image. This one is from the Joanna Sheen House Mouse Decoupage cd and the paper and sentiment are Hunkydory (a recent magazine freebie). I think it needs some embellishment but not sure what, so at the moment this is the finished thing unless I have one of those eureka moments.

I know this is from the christmas section of the cd but the more I look at the image I think (given the right design) it would also work for a new home card.

and here's another showing the layers

Santa's Sack of Happiness

Another productive weekend over..... not craft wise but spending! Well I just had to take advantage of some free postage and sales to add to my crafty stash!

Here's another christmas card using an image from a Joanna Sheen cd 'Giordano Christmas Creations'. I printed the image several times so that I could decoupage it and matted it onto some gold mirricard. The paper is Berry Merry by Jennifer Ellory (a very old magazine giveaway) and after I added a recycled sentiment I decided no more embellishing was needed.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Allsorts 'let's make a start on christmas'

Well it's turned into a lovely and quite warm afternoon here so I think I may pop out into the garden for a while and soak up some of this autumn sunshine while it lasts. Thanks for popping by and I hope you have a great week.

A Mice Day For Walkies

Well it's definitely autumnal weather and that sets the theme for my card today.

I've used a decoupage sheet from the Joanna Sheen House Mouse Decoupage cd which I printed onto normal cardstock so that I could shape the edges of the pieces better and give a more rounded effect to the dog and mice. I used some cream pearlescent card for matting and I'm not sure of the background paper as it was a loose sheet. The sentiment is LOTV cut with a nesting die and the ribbon, flowers and pearls are from my stash. I do love House Mouse images as these cheeky little mice are guaranteed to break out a smile and brighten even the chilliest autumn day,

and here's a view of the layers

Rudolph Day Reminder

Thanks for all your best wishes and I'm glad to say my hand is working much better again now. That has definitely taught me that the meaning of all things in moderation applies to crafting as well ! Just wish I knew where my Mojo has disappeared to.

Anyway here's a christmas card using an old Nellie Snellen stamp called 'sharing a biscuit' and coloured with Promarkers. The paper is BoBunny and all the dies are Tattered Lace coloured with the same Promarkers as I used on the image. I used gold mirricard for matting, a recycled sentiment, pearls for the mistletoe berrries and a sprinkling of Stickles glitter to the image.

Autumn

Well what a mad week or so.... my Mojo decided it's had enough of this colder weather and has deserted me completely so to amuse myself I cut out rather a lot of decoupage sheets and of course I'm now in pain and have a hand that does not want to work as it should -  hence my disappearance from Blogland.

Anyway as I missed the Playground last week I was determined to get a snippets card made yesterday and I found this LOTV image I'd got already stamped and coloured with Promarkers. This is a quick CAS design I've used quite a few times in the past and is great for using up paper snippets. I used nesting dies to cut the image and brown card, and the paper is a snippet of Prima Doodle Deux. The leaves are a Uniko stamp (very roughly) cut by hand and the peel-off sentiment from my stash.

250th Week of Snippets

I wasn't there at the start of it all but I have tried to enter each week since I came across this super challenge over at Pixie's Snippets Playground. It's the same perfect challenge theme each week which is to use snippets on your creation (so anyone can enter as I know every crafter in Blogland owns at least one box of leftover snippets) and you also get to hang out with a lovely fun bunch of playmates. Miss Di is in charge of us all and she also has the lovely little Parsnip to help her - although he can be bribed to turn a blind eye to some of the shenanigans. As it's a celebration week I'm sure there'll be a few bottles of hooch to be found hidden in the Treehouse and I think I may have heard rumours of Mrs A organizing a 'who can find the best use for a plastic carrier bag' contest !

So here is my snippet card using a piece of leftover hammered card which I used for the base, a leftover snippet from a previously embossed 8x8 inch kraft card (a Die'Sire Embossalicious folder), a TH Crazy Bird stamped and die-cut from a snippet of card then coloured with Promarkers and googly eyes added and to finish off I stamped a sentiment from the HLS 'Mix Mash' set.

As well as heading over to Pixie's Snippets Playground I'm also entering the following challenges

Passion for Promarkers challenge 'add texture'
Mod Squad challenge 'for the birds'
Cuttlebug Mania challenge 'thank you' (embossed and die-cut using Grand Calibur)
Addicted to Stamps and More challenge 'clean and simple'
Cute Card Thursday challenge 'anything goes'
Colour Crazy Craft challenge 'anything goes colouring'
Happy Little Stampers challenge 'anything goes with dies'

Enjoy what's left of the weekend and thanks for popping by today

B's and C's with a Different Edge

I'm here today with a creation to combine four challenges and also to try my hand at something new (for me at any rate). The B's  are for The Craft Barn Two Weekly challenge with the theme of 'books', Creative Inspirations challenge where it's 'buttons, blooms and bows' and over at Mrs A's Butterfly challenge it's another B for the butterfly along with 'C for checkered and/or cyan' (I managed both after a rummage through my old stash). UnstampaBelles challenge is to go 'ouside your comfort zone and twist: a different edge'..... definitely outside my comfort zone and even though I did make a couple of booboo's with the cutting and measuring I'm pleased to say that I managed to fudge it together okay in the end, and hopefully the faux pages should count as a 'different edge'

I'm still on a mission to use up old stash and found some quite heavy checkered card for the book and some old papers for inside. I distressed all the edges with Memento ink and before sticking it all I added some ribbon on the inside so that I could fasten it shut with a bow.  I added strips of Basic Grey ribbon doiley down the side and the spine, a Memory Box 'fresh foliage' die, some flowers with buttons in the centres (these were the only two buttons I could find) and finally a metal butterfly (which was in the fabulous bag of goodies Mrs A sent me) with some little pearls for the body.

That's it from me for today but I'll be back tomorrow with my snippet make for a trip over to Pixie's Playground so I'll see you then. Thanks for popping by and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Snippets and Snowmen

Hi everyone, I hope you had a great weekend. I spent some more wonderful moments with my little Miss Cutie Pie before she left yesterday afternoon for the long journey home with her Mommy and Daddy. They're just about to start the next leg from Singapore to Brisbane and will be home early hours of tomorrow.

I must admit that I'm already missing my cuddles so I decided to make a CAS card to occupy myself this morning. I've used a Bugaboo image coloured with Promarkers and some pieces of spotty papers from my snippets box. Then I just added some gems and a sentiment. To the naked eye the green of the paper is more like the green in the image but the camera doesn't seem to agree.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets'
Passion for Promarkers challenge 'spots and/or stripes'
Catch The Bug challenge 'anything goes'

Snippets and Colours

Hi everyone, hope you're looking forward to the weekend. We've just had another wonderful afternoon with little Miss Cutie Pie and her Mommy and Daddy and I'd forgotten just how entertaining saucepans and wooden spoons can be for little fingers. But the most fun was watching her being bathed in the kitchen sink and splashing the water everywhere - she was really enjoying herself.

I'm running very late this week but I have managed to make a snippets card / gift card to take over to Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge. This is made entirely of bits of card from the snippets box and is an image from Digi Stamps Boutique coloured with Tonic Studios Nuvo pens. I used the inspiration colours from Cupcake Inspirations challenge.

It's a bit hard to see in the photo but the strip of card is a dark green and the butterflies are purple.

Edited to add I'm also joining in with DigiStamp Boutique September Customer challenge - thanks for telling me Lorraine

Thanks for popping by today and I hope you have a great weekend. I'll be around to catch up with you all soon.

Hark the Herald Angels Sing

..... Or in this case it's decoupaged little angel mice from the Joanna Sheen 'Christmas in Holly Pond Hill' cd. I used an Embossalicious folder to emboss the music background which I matted onto some shiny blue card. The dies are Memory Box 'snowflake sprig' and Poppystamps 'general store tags' and the ribbon, bells and pearl are from my stash. The sentiment is one I've had for a while and I think may be from 'The Artful Stamper' but not certain as the packaging has gone walkabouts.

I shall enter this on the following challenges

Fussy and Fancy Friday challenge 'music'
The Ribbon Girl challenge 'use any image'
Sparkles Christmas challenge 'angels or fairies'
Come and Get It challenge 'lots of layers'
Creatalicious challenge 'anything goes + optional pick a tune - inpsired by a song'
That's Crafty challenge 'christmas in September'
Poppystamps challenge 'so boss'
Happy Little Stampers Christmas challenge 'song'
Happy Little Stampers Dies challenge 'anything goes'
Simon Says Monday challenge 'inspired by music'

Apologies for my continued absence but I'm not visiting Blogland too much at the moment as there are less than two weeks left before my little Miss Cutie Pie heads back to Australia with her Mommy and Daddy.... and then no more Granny cuddles for a looong time. Thanks for visiting today and take care of yourselves.

Out For A Drive

Hi everyone, hope you're all having a great weekend. I've had a super week so far meeting my little Miss Cutie Pie and having lots of granny cuddles with the sweetest tempered little baby I've ever met. Even though it was a long journey for her - over 24 hours travel including to and from the airports - along with that the fact that she is teething and also managed to catch a nasty virus en route she still managed some lovely smiles and giggles. Mommy and Daddy also got this virus but happily they are all much better now.

Anyway I'm just popping by today with a very quick CAS male card using a LOTV stamp called 'toot toot' which I coloured with Promarkers. The sentiment is from the Happy Little Stampers 'mix mash' set, the star is cut from a bit of corrugated cardboard packaging using a Xcut die and I just had to dig in my stash for a length of bakers twine.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Pixie's Snippets Playground 'use snippets'
AAA Cards challenge 'upcycling'
Creative Inspirations challenge 'anything goes + option of sketch'
Cuttlebug Mania challenge 'anything goes with die-cuts'
Country View challenge 'travel'
Stamping Sensations challenge one for the boys'
Penny Black and More challenge 'add a sentiment' (2nd entry)
The Craft Barn challenge 'what men like to do on a bank holiday'
That's Crafty challenge 'all square'
Coloury Crazy challenge 'anything goes'

At the risk of boring you I'll leave you with a photo taken when they arrived at my Dad's house (where they are staying) of Granpa and Granny having the first ever cuddle. I know it's an awful photo of me but I shall treasure that moment.

and here's another with her great granddad Doug

Thanks for popping by and for all your lovely and greatly appreciated comments. I'm off to do some housework now and hopefully a bit of crafting as I have some cards which need to be made. I'll do my best to catch up with you all but blogging will be taking a bit of a backseat this month so please don't think I'm ignoring you.

Kaleidoscope Rainbow

There's still a few hours left to join in with Darnell's NBUS challenge and I've already been along with my 3 entries (says me feeling very smug to have actually made a tiny dent in Mt NBUS) but I have been very good today and had a play with another of my NBUS stamps while they are out on the kitchen table.

The stamp is Designs By Ryn 'patio stone' which I coloured with Aquamarkers using the colours of the rainbow and spritzed with water before stamping onto hammered card - I love the different effects you get depending on how much water you spritz. Then I used a sentiment from the Happy Little Stampers 'mix mash' set which I curved when putting on the acrylic block and stamped it a couple of times in Memento ink before attaching the hammered card to a kraft card base. The butterflies are cut from snippets of kraft card using an All Ocasions Die and finished off with some gems from my stash.

I started off making this card singing 'Somewhere over the rainbow' but by the time it was finished I was singing 'Butterfly, my butterfly'. I wonder what cards I'll be making next week after singing all the nursery rhymes I can remember?

I shall enter this in the following challenges ~

Butterfly challenge ' K for kraft and kaleidoscope'

Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets'

HLS CAS challenge 'watercolour spritz'

Uniko challenge 'inspired by a song title'

Creatalicious challenge 'anything goes with option anniversary'

The ABC challenge 'O is for open'

Craft Stamper Take It Make It challenge 'take a stamp anything goes'

Designs By Ryn challenge 'September customer creations'

Thanks for popping by and for taking the time to leave a comment. Hope you all have a great week.

NBUS Trees and Birds

Well the weekend is nearly over and just because I want the days to pass quicker time seems to be going so slow. I know it's rather naughty of me to want to speed up time but I'm counting down the hours until my granddaughter arrives in England in a couple of days and I can have my first ever granny cudddle.

Anyways, I'm here with my third card for Darnell's NBUS challenge and this time I've managed to use up two more unused items. I decided to try to make a simple autumnal scene using Memento inks with a Designs By Ryn stencil 'flowing branches' for the tree (my first NBUS item) on hammered card and then I carried on with the Memento inks and some cheap make-up foam pads to colour in the sky and the ground - I tried to give the impression of all those fabulous colours of fallen leaves but not sure I achieved it. I used a Penny Black bird stamp from the 'spread cheer' set (my second NBUS item) but only inked up half the birds, and for the sentiment I used a Clearly Besotted stamp which I twisted when putting on the acrylic block so that it would follow the line of the branch. I had a rummage through the craft cupboard and found an old patterned A4 sheet of card (not sure where from) which I folded and used as a base card (it just didn't work with a white card blank) and attached the image with some sticky pads.

I must say it does look better IRL than in the photo

I shall also enter this in the following challenges

Designs By Ryn 'September customer creation' challenge

Penny Black and More challenge 'add a sentiment'

Fussy and Fancy Friday challenge 'let's fly away'

Time Out challenge 'inspired by words'

NBUS Joy

Determined to join in again with Darnell's NBUS challenge I headed to the crafty cupboard and pulled out a Sizzix Tim Holtz 'Holiday Joy' stamp and die set which I won from the lovely Miss Di over at Pixie's Playground back in November last year and (hanging head in shame) is just getting its' first outing. There are quite a few images in this set but I have just used the 'JOY' stamp which I cut with the matching die. The background has been embossed with a Die'sire Embossalicious folder and matted onto a red card blank before adding a Memory Box 'snowflake border' die and the TH 'joy' sentiment stamp/die. To finish I just added a single silver gem.

This is one of the quickest and easiest christmas cards I've made and would have been ideal for a batch make if only that hadn't been my last coloured card blank!

As well as joining in with Darnells NBUS challenge I shall also enter this in the following challenges

Winter Wonderland challenge 'use white + one other colour or a little bird told me'

Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas challenge 'use a sentiment'

Allsorts challenge 'use at least two dies'

Creative Inspirations challenge 'christmas in August'

NBUS Under the Sea

It's that time of the year again when the fabulous Darnell shames us all into having a play with our NBUS and as usual I look in the cupboard and wonder which route to take up the mountain of unused goodies? So in the end I decided to go along the mixed media road and as well as being able to pack in no less than THREE NBUS goodies, I also took along a few snippets and some very old crafty stash for the ride. I even managed to do a bit of recycling along the way to come up with this.......

 So here's what I did ~
I painted a piece of card with Aquamarkers, used my NBUS Noor stencil 'wavy stripes' with Gesso then added more colour with the Aquamarkers before sticking to a piece of cardboard packaging. I cut a frame from foam padding (also recycled packaging) and then made the scene.

I used a snippet of vellum and Memento ink to stamp the Design By Ryn 'leafy branch' which I stuck with some tiny glue dots. Then, using Glossy Accents, I added the very old stash - pearls, stamens and leaves. The other two items of NBUS are the Memory Box dies 'elegant jellyfish' and 'swimming seahorses' cut from snippets of card. I used a Zig metallic marker to colour the seahorses and Tattered Angels glimmer glaze for the jellyfish.

Not my usual sort of thing but I must admit I did have fun making this AND as I managed to use three things from my NBUS pile I won't feel quite so guilty about the 2 parcels of goodies I ordered the other day!!

As well as heading up Mount NBUS to join in with Darnell's challenge I'm also heading over to see the playmates in Pixie's Snippets Playground and joining in with these other challenges

Crafty Cardmakers challenge 'by or under the sea'
The Craft Barn challenge 'blue or blues'
Love to Create challenge 'anything creative / mixed media goes'

Thanks for popping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend (and the extra day for those in the UK)
