Dreaming of Spring

HI everyone and a very special welcome to my new followers. I see I've topped the 100 mark so when I get myself organised I shall have to sort out some candy to show my appreciation for your support.

This morning we woke up to a layer of snow and freezing cold but then the sun came out and melted it all away and it put me in the mood to make this card - well we can but dream!!
I've been into my snippets box again and found this piece of green spotty paper which I cut with a Marianne CR1273 border die. The flowers are Clearly Besotted 'pretty petals plus' cut with the matching die and the sentiment is also Clearly Besotted. To finish off I added a ladybird charm tied around with some baker's twine. I was going to pen in some flower stems but decided to leave it without rather then end up making a mess of the card and having to start again.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Without Words challenge 'dreaming of spring'
Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets' (3rd entry)
Simon Says Wednesday challenge 'anything goes'
Addicted to Stamps challenge 'clean and simple'
Stamplorations challenge 'stamps and ink'

Thanks for popping by and for all your most appreciated comments. I'll be round to catch up with you over the weekend.

Fluttering by with Hugs and Kisses

I'm fluttering by this evening with a CAS card. You know those times you see a sketch that really grabs you, well that's what happened and this card came together without any thought or planning.

I used white linen card to make the card base and the paper is from Prima Doodle Deux collection (from my snippets box). The butterfly is a Marianne Design Creatable die which I cut twice and layered, the sentiment is Clearly Besotted and I added a couple of pearls to finish it off.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Less Is More challenge 'sketch time'
Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets' (my 2nd entry)
Papertake Weekly challenge 'take your pick' (I picked the warm colours theme'
Fussy and Fancy Friday challenge 'things with wings'
Cuttlebug Mania challenge 'wildlife' (I used my Grand Calibur and Marianne Creatables die)

I don't use the large butterfly die very often but I must say I'm pleased with the way this card turned out and even hubby said he liked it. Thanks for popping by to take a look.

First Rudolph of 2015

It's the 25th already and time for the first Rudolph challenge of 2015 which you can now find over on the Scraps of Life by Scrappymo blog. I've gone for an easy production line make of cards and matching box with just a bit of die-cutting and sticking.

I made 6x6 inch card blank from A4 card and used the leftover snippets to die-cut the Memory Box happy christmas and Marianne Design tree. The papers were a magazine freebie and I just added a few gems to each card to finish off.

Butterfly Box

I can't believe that there's only another week to go and January will be over - this year seems to be flying by quicker than ever and I'm getting nothing done !!

I did make a promise to myself at the start of the year to motivate myself to regularly join in a few challenges and one of those was Mrs A's butterfly challenge. I managed to catch a flutterby that was hovering on the table but I had to search through all the boxes in my cupboard to find the required brad (now added to my shopping list) then after a day trying to come up with a card design I spotted the super little boxes Mrs A had posted on her blog (thanks for the inspiration). I made a lot of these little boxes the other year for charity fundraising and apparently they all sold quickly so now I'm making some more.

For this I used a 6 inch paper from my collection of loose sheets (not sure who by) and a white piece for the box base. Then I decorated with pearls, flowers with a pearl brad centre, ribbon and a Hunkydory butterfly.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Butterfly challenge 'butterflies + B is for brads'
Curtain Call challenge 'soft scarf - photo inspiration'
Buckwell's Crafty challenge 'anything goes'
Creative Inspirations challenge 'pretty pearls' my 2nd entry

Thanks for popping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Spring Flowers

Evening everyone, I'm just popping by with a quick post.

Over at Allsorts the challenge is 'spring flowers' and while I was looking through my craft cupboard - my intention being to get out the stamps - I came across some decoupage sheets from Marianne Designs that I'd bought ages ago and found the perfect image... so a change of plan and my card now has this little kitty who looks intent on having a play with the tulips and daffodils. The papers are from Raspberry Road Designs and I finished the card off with a few pearls and a peel-off sentiment. The image is a bit higher up on the card than I intended but it had stuck on the corner and I couldn't lift it without ripping. I may tie a piece of thin ribbon or baker's twine around between the cat and sentiment.. what do you think?

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Allsorts challenge 'spring flowers'
Sketch Saturday challenge 'sketch'
Creative Inspirations challenge 'pretty pearls'

Thanks for your visit and comments, I really do appreciate you taking the time to come by.

Jolly Old Funday - Yeah !

Or at least that is my take on my very first play with one of my new JOFY stamps (first time I've bought this brand). The stamp I used today is one of the minis JM22 which I coloured with Promarkers and went over the vase with a Sakura clear glaze pen. I used linen card for the base and matted the image onto Core'dinations cardstock. To finish off I added a ladybird charm tied around with some baker's twine.

I shall enter this in the following challenges
Time Out challenge 'photo inspiration' I was inspired by the colours and flowers on the cushion
Addicted To Stamps challenge 'make your mark'
Craft Stamper challenge 'take a stamp'
Country View challenge 'use something new to you' (2nd entry)
Winter Wonderland challenge 'show us your metal
Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets
Scribble and Scrap challenge 'anything goes'
My Craft Creations challenge 'anything goes'

Thanks for popping by to have a look at what I've been up to. I'm off now to have a play with the other JOFY stamps I got.

New and Cute

Hi everyone, I hope this year has started out well for you all. I'm sorry I haven't been around much but have been pretty busy with appointments (doctor, dentist, hospital etc) as well as having a rush job of making my daughters birthday card to get in the post to her.

So as I have a couple of days free I decided to ink up one of my new stamps and join in a few challenges. This adorable baby stamp is LOTV 'balloon basket' which I coloured with Promarkers then I cut it with an oval die and layered it onto a Spellbinders 'opulent oval' die. The background card was embossed with a Die'sire Embossalicious 6x6 petite dots folder - definitely my favourite folder as it is suitable for any style or occasion and works brilliantly for white on white cards. The ribbon and card candi are from my stash and the sentiment stamp was a magazine freebie. Finally I added a little Stickles to the image and sentiment (although it is a bit hard to see in the photo).

I really enjoyed making this card so I hope my inspiration and motivation has finally made a come-back.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Allsorts challenge 'new and cute'
Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets' (I used snippets of card for the die and sentiment)
Papertake Weekly challenge 'it's all new'
Creative Card Crew challenge 'for a child'

Penny Black and More challenge 'stencils. masks and embossing folders'

Thanks for popping by and for your continued support. Sorry for being such a bad blogger this year and I hope to catch up with you all very soon.

Cute Card Thursday 'anything goes'
Papertake Weekly 'anything goes'

Well I don't know about you but I've already broken my resolution and ended up treating myself to some new crafty goodies!! Thanks for popping by and I hope you have a great week.

CAS Christmas with my NBUS

Is it me or did last year pass you by in a flash as well? I suppose it didn't help that I've not been feeling well since the summer and I'm still waiting on more tests and hospital appointments. Still I'm keeping my fingers crossed that 2015 is a better year.

Now a lot of you know the lovely Darnell of djkardkreations and for those of you who don't then you should head over to her blog as it is always very entertaining... but back to the point - she is hosting another of her fabulous NBUS challenges where she challenges you to use your 'never-before-used-schtuff' which I'm certain we are all guilty of having

For my card I went very CAS as I really am having problems getting my brain into gear!! (okay so what's new you ask)
Last October when I realised I hadn't got any Clearly Besotted christmas stamps I treated myself to the super 'Rockin Robin' set with the matching dies and as you may guess I never got around to using them, so this is also my first christmas card for 2015. I stamped and die-cut the robins and attached them straight onto a card blank with sticky pads. then I embossed a couple of lines above and below them and used the sentiment from the same set. This is definitely the 'I need a load of cards in a hurry' design and I think it would probably work better on a smaller card rather than 6 inch square.

So as well as Darnells' NBUS challenge I shall also head over with another entry to Pixies Snippets Playground where you have to use up some of your 'hoarded' snippets (the robins are snippets of card)

The other challenges I'm entering are
CAS on Sunday 'christmas'
Country View Crafts 'use something new to you - a craft product or technique'
Simon Says Wednesday 'anything goes'

Thanks for taking the time to visit and for all your comments and encouragement. I really do appreciate it.
