Uniko and Snippets

Hi everyone, just another quick post from me again today.... but before I get on to my card I want to tell you about the amazing giveaway over on the Uniko blog. If you haven't already seen it Bev is having an 8th Birthday Celebration HUGE giveaway and I can assure you it is a really amazing prize to win as I was last years very lucky winner.

and here are photos of the 24 wonderful stamp sets I received.

February release

 May release

July release

October release

January release

Thank you so much Bev, I'm still doing a 'happy dance' here.

They are all wonderful stamps to ink up - I've had such a lot of fun playing with them and I know I'm going to have a lot more fun as and when inspiration strikes.... so expect to see more of them over the next few months. I especially love the 'season of beauty' (poinsettia), the outlined sentiments are great and the 'background blocks scandinavian christmas' is perfect for batch-makes. If you haven't already done so then you should pop over to the Uniko blog and add your name and keep your fingers crossed!

Now for my card using Uniko stamps 'background blocks horizontal stripe' and 'big & bold wish' and also the 'big & bold wish' dies. I used snippets of white card for stamping and coloured card for the die-cut candles so I'm heading over to Pixie's Snippets Playground where Miss Di challenges us to use our snippets.

That's all from me for now. Thanks for taking the time to pop by and also for your lovely comments. My neck and shoulder are slowly getting back to normal so I'll hopefully be round to visit you all soon.

Mo's Digital Pencil GDT

Hi everyone, it's February 1st and time for a new challenge at Mo's Digital Pencil. As I was the lucky winner of the December challenge I have been given the opportunity of joining them this month as guest designer.

The theme for this challenge is 'Love'..... and I couldn't resist using this sweet Mo image called 'kissing frogs' coloured with my usual Promarkers. I used a Dovecraft punch to make a border across the top of the image before matting onto some coloured card, then I added some ribbon and a bow  and attached it all with sticky pads to the card base, finishing off with a die-cut heart that I'd stamped with a sentiment.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Simon Says Wednesday challenge 'snything goes'

Simon Says Monday challenge 'all loved up'

Passion for Promarkers challemge 'for a child/children images'

Time Out challenge 'affectionate'

Thanks for popping by today. It would be great if you could pop over to the challenge and see the fabulous creations from the DT and maybe even get your Mo images out and join in the fun,

Uniko Duo

Many of you may know that last year I was the very lucky winner of Uniko's 7th Birthday giveaway 'stamps for a year' and my final parcel of stamps arrived last week. In total I received 24 amazing new release stamp sets (I'm still doing a 'happy dance' here) so along with all the other Uniko stamps I own you're going to be seeing quite a few creations featuring them this year.

My first card features one from the latest release called 'hello lovely' - it's a gorgeous peony which I coloured with promarkers - along with 'english country garden butterflies' cut with the matching die. I stamped 'background blocks nautical stripes' down the side of the card blank before attaching the image and finished it off with a sentiment that was sitting on my desk (leftover from a decoupage sheet)

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Allsorts challenge 'take flight'

Penny Black and More challenge 'make it feminine'

Moving Along With the Times challege 'all things new'  the peony stamp

As You Like It challenge 'anything goes'

Crafty Catz challenge 'optional twist flower power'

Creative Inspirations challenge 'something new or something old' the peony stamp is new

For my second I used a yellow card blank stamped with 'background blocks pinstripes' which I framed with a Sizzix TH stitched rectangle die. The flowers and foliage are stamped and die cut with a selection from the 'flower power #1 #2 #5' and 'passiflora' sets (these are all favourites of mine), and the sentiment is from the 'paradise hummingbird' set.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Through the Purple Haze challenge 'anything goes'

Tuesday Throwdown challenge 'layered die cuts'

Stamping Sensations challenge 'favourite stamps'

Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use your snippets'  all the white bits of card were snippets

So that's another two of my 'background blocks' stamps - I've got the others sat on the desk waiting for inspiration to strike! Before I go here's a photo of the latest bundle of wonderful Uniko stamps I received which are perfect for 'Valentines and Love'

Thanks for popping by today, I really appreciate your visit and for taking the time to leave me a comment.

Trio of cards

It's been a pretty busy week here and I'm dashing by today with a trio of cards I've made. I've got a good collection of Uniko 'background blocks' stamps and decided the other day that I should get them out and see what card designs I could come up with - so here are the first three.

For my first card I used a stamp from YNS 'one in a chameleon' (I love these cute little critters) which I coloured with promarkers. Then I used Uniko 'background block stars' to stamp directly onto the card blank and - after deciding where the chameleon would go - I lightly stamped the background block again over the chameleon so that he could blend into the background (as chameleons do). I added a die-cut balloon and will add the sentiment at a later date when I decide who I shall send the card to

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Your Next Stamp challenge 'shades of blue'

Passion for Promarkers challenge 'animals'

Creative Inspirations challenge 'something new or something old'  YNS stamp is new and Uniko stamp is old

Double D challenge 'fun with balloons'

For my second card I used a green card blank and all Uniko stamps - 'background blocks halftone' (one of my favourites) and 'originally organic' (a new set for me and already a favourite) which I cut with the matching die and added with sticky pads. The sentiment from the 'originally organic' set was cut with an old die (possibly Xcut)

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Allsorts challenge 'more than a single word sentiment'

Stamping Sensations challenge 'favourite stamps'

For my final card, again I used all Uniko stamps 'background blocks scandinavian christmas' and 'season of beauty'. I heat embossed the background in white and added some colour with Memento ink before adding some fussy cut foliage (left over from a previous make) and a die-cut glittery snowflake (probaly TH and again left over from a previous make). The sentiment is also from the 'season of beauty' set

I shall enter this in the following challenges

ABC Christmas challenge 'A is for anything goes, B is for bingo'   I went for A anything goes

Uniko challenge 'anything goes + optional twist cool winter colours'  I went for the twist

The three background blocks I've used for these cards have been inked up quite a few times but I have the rest of my collection (some as yet unused) out on the desk and am planning on getting creative with them all over the next few weeks.

Right I'm off now to get on with my granddaughters card which I've only just started and need to get off in the post tomorrow. I'll be round to catch up with you just as soon as I've got that finished. Thanks for popping by today and I hope you all have a great week.

Punches and Flowers

Hello everyone, I hope the new year has got off to a good start for you. It's been a slow start for me craftwise but I'm finally here with a couple of cards.

First up is for my daughter's birthday and I used a free cupcake template from Buddly Crafts as well as quite a few snippets of card and paper. The heart and butterfly are die-cuts and the ribbon trim and daisies are Dovecraft punches. To finish it off I added some pearls to the daisy centres.

I shall enter this in the folowing challenges

Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use your snippets' everything except the base card are snippets

Cute Card Thursday challenge 'embellish'

Make My Monday challenge 'anything but square'

My second card uses a House Mouse decoupaged image from one of my House Mouse cds and background papers from my stash (not sure of brand)

I shall enter this in the following challeges

Allsorts challenge 'say it with flowers'

House Mouse Friends Monday challenge 'anything goes + option food and/or drink'

Country View challenge 'love'

Thanks for popping by today and for taking the time to leave me a comment. I really appreciate it and love reading them.

New Year Giveaway

Wow. that last year certainly flew by and it's time to start another one so I'm here to wish you all a very happy new year and I hope it's a happy and healthy one for each and everyone of you.
No new years resolutions from me this year, I'm just hoping for a good year with some laughter.

To celebrate the new year and as a small token of my thanks I've got a little giveaway for one of you in the shape of a Uniko £10 gift voucher

Instead of having the usual add your name candy, I decided that I would show my appreciation and do a surprise giveaway randomly picked from those (followers and non-followers) who have been kind enough to visit and leave a comment at this busy time of the year - so for each of my posts in December 1 gave a number to each comment starting with the first post numbered 1 to 17, the second post numbered 18 to 37 and so on. The total number of comments were 88  and I used a random generator to pick a number.

I had a bit of a job trying to get a screenshot but here is the number it picked

which is

Kathleen
with her comment on my post 'Merry Snippetmas'

So Kath if you could contact me at  ka (dot) je (at) hotmail (dot) co (dot) uk I will send you your voucher code... and if you could please leave a comment below so that I know you've seen this

And before I go I'd just like to thank all of you for you friendship and continued visits... and for all your greatly appreciated comments and words of encouragement.

Christmas Flowers

I hope you all had a wonderful christmas and enjoyed yourselves wherever you were and whatever you were doing. Christmas dinner is lovely but very filling and I do enjoy the couple of days after  when we finish off the leftover meats with salad and Hubby's homemade bread.

Now onto my christmas flowers which I've made to join in with the Uniko 2019 Christmas Party.

It's an 'anything goes christmas' theme with at least one Uniko product (which can also include their digital freebies). I decided to make a box card using the Uniko 'season of beauty' set, stamping and fussy cutting the flowers and foliage several times. I really love this stamp set but  I do wish there was a die set to match as my fingers were a bit sore afterwards! I heat embossed on the box flaps with Uniko 'background blocks stars' and then stuck it all together and added a bow to finish off.

You can save 15% on all Uniko orders at the moment - check out this post here and of course I had to treat myself to another christmas pressie! Edited - offer now ended

That's it from me for today, I'm off to have a bowl of homemade celery soup and then maybe probably treat myself to a few more goodies! Enjoy the rest of your holiday and thanks for taking the time to visit.

Merry Snippetmas

Not long now until the jolly man in a red suit appears and apart from making the sausage rolls and shortbreads I'm done, which meant I've had time for some crafty fun. I treated myself to a new set of Sizzix Tim Holtz 'tiny snowglobes' dies which dropped through the letterbox on Friday so I decided I should have a play.

I showed Hubby the dies and he asked if I was regretting buying them.... mmmm not sure yet! just check the last photo and you'll see what he meant. I think TH must have been checking out the Snippet's Playground when he designed these dies! Anyway I decided that using snippets of white card with StickIt backing and then colouring the die cut pieces with Promarkers would be the best way to tackle things.... ha ha ha, just shows how wrong you can be!

Luckily I decided to cut and make them one image at a time but trying to get the sticky backing off the tiny bits was very frustrating and even then I still managed to lose some of the minutest bits and had to resort to adding a touch of colour with a Sakura or Promarker pen to finish off. One thing's for sure, these were NOT designed for people with less than nimble fingers or old eyes BUT they are so super cute when finished EVEN if it did take me hours and a big magnifying lamp!

I used two of them to make into tags and all but one of the others - along with some more snippets and a spot of Stickles - to make a 'scrapling' card. I first saw this type of card over on Jules' blog here.

And to give you an idea of the size

I'm heading over to join in the following challenges

Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use your snippets'

Allsorts challenge 'anything goes'

Inkspirational challenge 'no stamping'

That's it from me for today, thanks so much for taking the time to visit and before I go I would like to wish you all

A Very Merry Christmas

Penguin Fun

Hi everyone, I hope all is well in your corner of Blogland. I'm popping in today with a card using a newly purchased Penny Black stamp called 'dancing and prancing'. I used my usual Promarkers for colouring and a snippet of paper for the snowy sky. I saw this stamp over at Lorraine's Loft here and knew I had to treat myself.....it reminds me of Happy Feet and the song 'Boogie Wonderland'

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Allsorts challenge 'inspired by a song'

Pixie's Snippets challenge 'use snippets'

Dream Valley challenge 'christmas'

Passion for Promarkers challenge 'anything goes'

Simon Says Stamp 'it's christmas card day'

I've finally finished my christmas cards so now I'm looking forward to having a play just for fun and maybe try out a few ideas I have jumping about in my head! But of course that will be after I've done all the housework and shopping... won't it ??!!

Thanks for popping by to have a look and for taking the time to leave a comment. I really appreciate it as I know you must all be very busy getting ready for christmas.
