Flying Visit

Hi everyone, sorry I've been such a bad blogger recently but life has been a bit hectic of late. I'm flying in with a very quick post today with my snippets card and heading over to join in the fun with Miss Di and the Playmates over at Pixie's Snippets Playground

I was sorting out some scraps that I had on the table and among them was a bit of card left over from having a play with some Distress Oxides that I thought it would make a perfect background sky for a  die-cut frame I had. I offset it onto the card blank but wasn't pleased with the result so I added some edge strips from a sheet of gold peel-offs, and finished it off with a sentiment from my Sarntangles stamp set.

Thanks for taking the time to pop by today, I really appreciate it. I won't be around for a while but will catch up with you all just as soon as I can.

Having a play

Hi everyone, hope you're all fine.... and to those of you in the UK I hope you had a great bank holiday weekend. I've spent most of it sitting in front of the fan or taking cold showers trying to keep nice and cool, and as it was way to hot to do housework I've managed to have a crafty play.

First up I've got some butterflies....... this is the first time I've played with shrink plastic so was quite impressed with how it works. The stamp is the largest from the Uniko 'English country garden - butterflies' (on sale at the moment!) which I coloured with pencils and cut out by hand so that I could punch the hole. They started off about 7cm across the wings and shrunk to about 3cm when heated (I used a heat gun) and I've threaded them on ribbons to make necklaces for my Granddaughter.

I'm entering these in the following challenges

Stamping Sensations challenge 'things with wings'

Your Next Stamp challenge 'anything but a card'

Next I've got some little meecies who have decided to help themselves to a little outdoor snack! The image is from the House Mouse decoupage cd and the ribbon and paper from my stash.

I'm entering thie in the following challenges

Words 2 Craft By challenge 'picnics'

House Mouse & Friends Monday challenge 'anything goes'

My final card was made using bits and bobs from my stash with a Sylvia Zet Wee Stamps topper and a LOTV sentiment.

I'm entering this in the following challenge

Allsorts challenge 'feminine'

Before I go here's a photo of the cat costume I've been making....... definitely not up to the standard of my sewing of days long past but I think my little Granddaughter will be happy enough with it. But I've just been told that real cats need to have a collar with a bell so I'll have to get the sewing cotton and needle out again! I know it looks a bit freaky all laid out on the carpet but it was the only way to get a photo!

That's all from me for today. Thanks for popping by to see me, I really appreciate you taking the time to leave me a comment and I'll be round to return your visit.

Nautical Twofer

Hi everyone, I hope all is well in your part of Blogland. The cat costume I was making for my granddaughter is finally finished so I've managed to find some time to have a crafty play. Darnell's Twofer challenge this month has a 'nautical' theme which fitted perfectly with one of the new release stamps from Uniko, and for both cards I used the 'nautical treasures' set
.

My Onefer is a christmas card. This is a brilliant stamp for male cards but I wanted to use it in a different way and the christmas carol just kept going round in my head. I stamped and heat embossed in gold and fussy cut the boat three times. The sentiment was done on the computer and matted onto gold mirricard and the waves are a Memory Box die. I'm rather pleased with how this turned out and the stamp heat embossed beautifully.

I'm entering this in the following challenges

Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets' (everything except the base card were snippets)

Inkspirational challenge 'travel'

My Twofer is a very CAS design and also uses a sentiment from the same stamp set, as well as one of the stamps from the new release 'background builders classics' for the sea.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

CASology challenge 'water'

Thanks for popping by today, I really appreciate your visit and all of your comments.

Simon Says Kids challenge

Hi everyone, hope all is well in your part of Blogland. I'm still getting tangled up in sewing cotton so there's no card from me today, but I did see that Simon Says Stamp is having a Kids Summer Vacation challenge for kids aged 2 - 16 years and with the theme 'anything goes with sparkle'

So here I am with the card that my 3 year old granddaughter made for Grandpa's birthday. She did have a little help from her Mom showing her which way to up to put the sentiment but apart from that it was all her own work and design...... and of course everything she makes has to have glitter added ....it's all the marks around the edges but doesn't show up too well in the photo.

Thanks so much for your visit today. Hopefully the kitty costume I'm making will be finished soon and I can get back to playing with some stamps and joining in a few challenges.

Uniko and More

Hi everyone. I've been quite busy with various things lately so not much crafting happening here until yesterday when I suddenly had a craving to make some cards and join in a few challenges. The newly released Uniko stamps which were part of my 'stamps for a year' win had arrived last week and they definitely motivated me to get crafty.

First up uses two of the new release stamps from Uniko 'Large Background Tropical Paradise' and 'Wild'. I stamped straight onto a coloured card base and then added a little stamped and die-cut giraffe from MFT 'Wild About You'. A really quick and easy make.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Penny Black and More challenge 'for boys and men'

Simon Says Monday challenge 'happy birthday'

Simon Says Wednesday challenge 'anything goes'

AAA Birthday challenge 'for the boys'

Next up is a stamp set from May's Uniko release called 'Mid Century Modern Florals' which I've only just got round to inking up. There are so many stamps in this set and so many ways in which you can use them..... so instead of thinking of how to do it, I just inked and stamped and came up with this. I've left it without a sentiment for the time being as I'm not sure whether to make it for a birthday or a cheery get well card.

I made this for the Uniko challenge 'flowers with the optional twist die-cuts'

This is a quick CAS one layer card using a LOTV stamp coloured with Promarkers and the sentiment is from another of the new release Uniko sets 'sentiments outlined'

This is for the following challenges

AAA Cards CAS challenge 'made in minutes + optional twist summer'

Time Out challenge 'relaxation'

My last card is for Pixie's Snippets challenge 'use your snippets'. I used snippets of white card for stamping flowers from the Uniko 'Passiflora' set and cut them with the matching dies. The sentiment (leftover from a decouplage sheet) is stuck onto a snippet of coloured card.

That's it from me for now. I'm itchng to have a play with the other Uniko stamps I got but will have to wait a little while as my granddaughter needs a black cat costume making - so I'm having to be supergran with my sewing machine.

Thanks for popping by today....  I really appreciate your visits and the time you take to leave a comment.

Gardening Gnomes

I can't believe how long it's been since I last posted here. Hubby and I have been bouncing 'germs' back and forth since May and I've just not felt like crafting or blogging for a while. But I am popping by today with a card that took nearly two weeks to make!

The gnome stamps (cut with the matching dies) are from MFT and the little flowers and sun (really another little flower) are MFT dies as well. I used snippets of white card for the stamps and dies which I coloured with Promarkers, and snippets of LOTV paper for the background.

I'm entering this in the following challenges

Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use your snippets'

MFT The Birthday Project challenge 'peek-a-boo surprise'

Passion For Promarkers challenge 'flowers'

Stamping Sensations challenge 'the earth laughs in flowers'

Penny Black and More challenge 'summer colours'

Time Out challenge 'inspired by words'

Thanks so much for your visit today and I will be round to catch up with you all over the next few days.

Fantasy and Nature

Hi everyone, I hope all is well in your corner of the world.... it's rather miserable and damp here and I'm so hoping that summer will soon make an appearance. Mojo is playing hide and seek with me again and my 'get up and go' has 'got up and gone' so for inspiration I ended up looking through some images that I'd stamped, coloured and die cut a while ago.... and managed to come up with a card

This was made entirely from snippets (apart from the base card) The MFT 'magical dragons' stamps were coloured with Promarkers and cut with the coordinating dies and the candles are from Uniko 'big & bold wish' die set. The background is made with nesting circle dies and an embossing folder.

I made this for the following challenges

Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets'

Allsorts challenge 'fantasy'

MFT Birthday Project challenge 'make a wish'

Watercooler Wednesday challenge 'all about occasions'

Whilst I was in the mood I decided to make a one layer card using Penny Black stamps 'berry bramble' and a sentiment from 'sweetest moments'. These are both christmas stamps and I'm not sure whether to add some 'snow' to the berries to make it look more christmassy - what do you think?

This is for the following challenges

Time Out challenge 'nature + option one layer'

AAA Cards CAS challenge 'one layer + optional twist only black and white'

Thanks so much for popping by today and for taking the time to leave your lovely comments, which I really appreciate and love reading.

Dress-up and a Trio

Good Morning all, sorry I've not been visiting the past few days but I've been rather busy. This is a photo heavy post so grab yourself a mug or glass of something.

I recently bought my granddaughter some dress up costumes (it's so easy to buy from shops in Oz and have it delivered straight to them) and one was Elsa from Frozen. Unfortunately it wasn't a design with a cape and she so longed for that long trailing dress so Granny volunteered to get out the sewing machine that's been gathering dust in the back of the cupboard for at least a couple of decades. Now I've not done any sewing without patterns since my daughter (now in her 40s) was little, and taking into account they live half way round the world I had to rely on measurements from her Mommy (who only had a ruler and a metal measure!) but with the aid of Skyping I managed to make this that she can wear over the dress. Fingers crossed it fits okay!

I'm entering this cape in the Love To Craft 'June anything goes' challenge

I wrapped it in tissue paper and made a tag using Uniko 'stunning snowflakes' and I also sent some Tim Holtz snowflakes die-cut from glitter sheets and foam to stick to her shoes.

For my first and very quick, CAS card I used a shaped card blank with Uniko stamps 'flower power 2, flower power 3, flower power 5, simply said birthday' and 'flower power 1-6' dies

This is for the following challenges

AAA Cards '5th birthday bash'

Pixie's Snippets Playground 'use your snippets' I used snippets of white card for the flowers

Stamping Sensations 'show your true colours'

Work It Wednesday 'summer vibes'

Another quick, CAS card using more Uniko stamps 'background blocks mid century modern, flower power 5, english country garden' and 'english country garden' dies

I'm entering this in the challenges at

Penny Black and More 'blooms, butterflies and/or bugs'

Country View Crafts 'it's a bugs life'

And my final card is a Penny Black stamp 'santa's visit' which I stamped onto some hammered card (which gives the snowy effect) and cut with a Penny Black nesting die. The image has been cropped to about half it's size and framed with the next size nesting die before matting onto some green mirricard. I ended up making a batch of these as I'm rather behind with christmas.

This is for the challenge at Allsorts where the theme is 'black + white plus one'

Thanks so much for your visit today and making it through to the last card! I'll be round to return your visit in the next day or two.... until then take care and enjoy your day.

Stencilling

Hi everyone, I'm just popping by today with a very quick make. I've a few stencils tucked away in the cupboard but I'm very guilty of not giving them the love they deserve...... so I decided to put that right and use a couple for this card. I'm actually pretty pleased with the result and it also has Hubby's approval - and it's nice and flat for posting. The flowers are much brighter in real life than they look here - it's pretty dull today and I just couldn't get a decent photo.

I made this for the following challenges ~

Tuesday Throwdown challenge 'stencilling'

Simon Says Monday challenge 'use stencils'

Time Out challenge 'photo inspiration'

Country View challenge 'opposites' colours + black border

Allsorts challenge 'happy 10th birthday'

Thanks for popping by today and I hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend

More Birthdays and Others

Hi everyone, thanks for popping by today but please keep a safe distance as I've got an absolute stinker of a cold. I've got a few more cards to show you today and will keep it short and sweet (hopefully)

First off a card for the Passion for Promarkers special anniversary challenge where the theme is 'anything goes'. I used my trusty Promarkers to colour the image and added a sentiment from Uniko 'birthday sentiments' stamp set.

And following on with another birthday card this time for a male, using Uniko 'background builders round in circles' and 'simply said birthday'

I'm entering this in the following challenges

Uniko Studio 'anything goes + optional twist masculine'

Allsorts 10th birthday challenge 'happy birthday'

I've used one of the Uniko May new release stamps 'background blocks modern mid century II' for my next card. It would be a great stamp for those hard to make male cards but I stamped it in pink as I wanted a softer feminine look and after matting it onto some coffee coloured card I added a couple of die-cuts to finish.

This is for the challenges at

Penny Black and More 'all things feminine with anything goes option'

Inkspirational 'gold dipped'  (the thanks is die-cut from gold card)

And to finish with something different, here's a card with no stamping at all. I embossed the card front and added a LOTV topper along with some ribbon, flowers and gems. This will have a pocket added to the inside so that it can contain a gift card or money.

This is for the Unstampabelles challenge 'to have and to hold - twist art deco style'

Wow, you managed to make it through to the end and hopefully without catching my germs. Thanks so much for popping by and for taking the time to leave such lovely comments, I really appreciate it. I'm off now to grab another box of tissues and have a nice bowl of chicken soup and if I can stop sneezing long enough I may just have a crafty play later.
