Pink Cutie

Afternoon all and thanks for popping by.

Mojo is still playing hide and seek but I have managed to put together a card using a lovely digi from Mo Manning called Amanita and coloured with my usual Promarkers. The papers are from Dovecraft and I used QuicKutz dies to cut the image and card for matting, an Xcut die to cut the stamped LOTV sentiment and a Die-namics die to cut the number 3. Then I addded some ribbon, flowers and gems to finish.

I made this for the following challenges

In The Pink 'fantasy'

Allsorts 'name and/or number'

Noor! Design 'anything goes'

As You Like It 'what's your favourite embellishment and why'
That's pretty easy for me and it has to be gems or pearls as most of my cards end up with them. They come in so many colours and sizes and you can add them to all types of cards - fussy, CAS, female, male, mixed media and so on - and they just add that little bit of detail to finish things off.

Well the forecast for the next couple of days is dry and sunny so I'm keeping my fingers crossed as I'm halfway through getting all the curtains down and washed before the summer disappears completely. Hope you have a fun week whatever you have planned.

Ribbon Snippets and a New Little Crafter

Hi everyone I'm popping by today with a snippets make so that I can go and play with the Playmates over at Pixie's Snippets Playground - and maybe I'll sneak a peak of Parsnip tanning himself in preparation for his Playmate of the Week appearance!

Don't you love it when a plan comes together without even having made one in the first place.... well that's what happened to me today when I spied my bag of ribbon bits (you know those pieces that are only a few inches long but you don't want to bin them) and picked out a few that worked together. Then I found a leftover piece of embossed card (from an A4 sheet) which was the wrong size for an A6 card but  it was the perfect size for my very last Avery Elle card blank (4.25 x 5.5 inch). I stuck the ribbon ends under the embossed card before sticking it to the card blank and then added a double layered Concord + 9th butterly die cut from snippets of card with some pink gems to finish.

It was so hard to get a good photo and it really does look much better in real life and the silky ribbons give it a little shimmer.

Oh and just before I go I have a couple of photos to show you of my little Miss Cutie Pie (granddaughter) painting a canvas. I can't believe she's 18 months old now and has grown so much since I saw her last year. If anyone has noticed in the photos, she actually does use her left hand as much as the right one to do things.

Thanks for your visit and I hope you have a great week whatever your plans.

More Flowers

I had a good day yesterday because Mojo paid a rare visit and motivated me to make a couple of cards.

The first was a 5 inch square card and a play with Uniko stamps - leaves are 'Nature's Treasures II' - flowers are 'Flower Power #2' stamped onto snippets of card, highlighted with a white Sakura pen, then cut out and shaped before adding a pearl to each - sentiment is from 'Flower Power #1'

I made this for the following challenges

Uniko challenge 'flowers'

Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets' (flowers, coloured card for matting)

While Mojo was still hanging around to play I got out the box of decoupaged images that I'd printed off and made up a while ago (when I was in the cutting out mood) and picked out this sweet image from the Joanna Sheen 'House Mouse triple cd'. A hunt through my stash found a paper from Raspberry Road Designs which was a magazine freebie eons ago, then a couple of flowers which must be about 5 years old and finally some ribbon. The flowers were meant to be at the top corner and a bow at the bottom, but due to me being a bit eager to get things stuck down while Mojo was still around I had to alter things to allow for the lack of space I'd left at the top....... but actually it probably looks better as it turned out.

I made this for the following challenges

Allsorts challenge 'photo inspiration'

CD Sunday challenge 'anything goes'

I'm feeling pretty pleased with myself as I actually enjoyed making both of these cards and they both came together pretty quickly too. Just hope this motivation continues and Mojo comes to play again. Thanks for popping by and I hope you're all having lots of crafty fun.

Male and Floral

After sorting through all my digis the other week I thought it was time I did the same with my stamps and have finally got them in some sort of order. I was hoping to find Mojo hiding in the back of the cupboard ready to come and have a play but no such luck! Still I did manage to get a couple of cards made using some of my older stamps and I've found a mountain of NBUS stamps which I've put out ready to ink up.

For my first card I used a LOTV stamp coloured with Promarkers and chalks. As Mojo wouldn't come to play I found a super sketch to follow and used a loose sheet of paper (so not sure of make), some snippets of card and a length of twine. I left it without a sentiment for the time being as I reckon this would be fine for a birthday or retirement or even father's day.

This is heading over to

Penny Black and More challenge 'for the boys'

Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge 'sketch + stamped image'

I just got a pot of Ranger gold embossing powder and wanted to try it out so I reached out for the nearest piece of card (which had been dry embossed using an Embossalicious folder on one corner) and used a Uniko stamp from the Pure Florals Gerbera set. I decided to try and make it up into a card so used some thick (Hunkydory I think) patterned card as a base card then added a gold peel-off sentiment, stick on butterfly and some pearls. When I asked Hubby for his opinion he replied 'pretty'.... so hopefully it didn't turn out too bad although I'm still not sure about not colouring the flower.

This is for

Uniko challenge 'flowers'

Stamping Sensations challenge 'anything with flowers'

That's it from me for now, hopefully I can motivate myself to get a bit more creative as I've got some fabulous new stamps to have a play with as well as some more Mo Manning digis printed off and waiting to be coloured. Thanks for popping by today and I hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Digis and Dies

Hi everyone, I hope all you tennis fans have enjoyed the last fortnight of Wimbledon.... must admit I was so pleased to watch Roger Federer claim his 8th championship title.

I've got a trio of cards to show you today so I'll try to keep it short and to the point. First is a Mo Manning digi called 'kissing frogs' that was given free with my order a few weeks ago and which I coloured with my usual Promarkers. Paper is Dovecraft and ribbon, lace and pearls are from my stash

I'm entering this in

Passion For Promarkers challenge 'add pearls'

Second is a Bugaboo digi again coloured with Promarkers and matted onto mirricard, with some ribbon and a recycled sentiment from a last year christmas card

I'm entering this in

Tuesday Morning Sketches 'sketch + christmas in July'

Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas challenge 'anything christmas goes'

And my last card.... using snippets of card, cardboard and glitter card I used Xcut dies to cut the stars. The sentiments are Uniko, Happy Little Stampers and Clearly Besotted stamps

I'm entering this in

CASology challenge 'wish'

Noor Design challenge 'use die cuts'

Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets'

That's it from me for now, I'm off to sit out in the garden with a cuppa tea. Thanks for popping by today.

Digis and a CD

Hi everyone, hope you all had a fun weekend. I was very good and kept to my plans of sorting and organising all my digistamps... and what a job that was - I deleted well over two-thirds of them and still have just over a hundred left! I know it sounds a bit extreme but if they'd been rubber stamps I'd have had a sort out much sooner or probably not bought them in the first place. I think I'll be a lot more thoughtful when buying digis in future and I must admit I deleted all but one of my 'Saturated Canary' images so that's how much I really needed them. It's just such a shame that we're not able to pass digistamps on to others as we can with rubber as I'm sure there are a lot of images I never even got around to printing off that some of you would have loved.

Anyway onto a couple of cards I made from some Bugaboo images I printed off and coloured with my usual Promarkers.

I really do love the words on this first image and I thought it would be perfect for the challenge over at AAA Cards where the theme is 'words have power'

I used leftover snippets of paper and gold card for the layers on my second card along with a fun snowman.

I'm entering this in

Crafty Hazelnut's Chirstmas challenge 'christmas + option washi tape'

Addicted to Stamps and More challenge 'holiday'

Deep Ocean challenge 'lots of layers'

For my last card I used an image from Joanna Sheen's 'Pamela West Collection 2' CD with a magazine freebie paper, Woodware sentiment stamp and die-cut letters

this is for challenges over at

CD Sunday 'up the garden path'

Crafty Purple Frog 'make it manly'

Thanks for popping by today and for taking the time to leave me a comment. I'm just off to the shops now to buy some strawberries and cream before I settle down to watch the tennis and colour some more digis. Enjoy your week.

Wedding, Floral and Summer

I've got a threesome of cards to show you today so grab a drink and pull up a chair.

My first is a wedding card using a LOTV topper with a Memory Box frame die, Dovecraft punched flowers, Xcut heart die and Uniko sentiment stamps.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Double D challenge 'anything wedding'

Country View challenge 'hearts'

Words 2 Craft By challenge 'keep love in your heart'

The Ribbon Girl challenge 'any image'

Next up is a stamp from Penny Black called 'the unfolding' - now this is a favourite of mine as you can colour it with Memento ink and stamp straight onto a card base as I did and get a one layer card with no ink showing through as well as a fabulous image which looks like a watercolour. The sentiment is also a Penny Black stamp and I used a Dovecraft punch on a couple of the corners.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

Penny Black and More challenge 'anything goes'

Stamping Sensations challenge 'use your favourite stamp'

Allsorts challenge 'flower power'

Time Out challenge 'celebration with option of one layer cards'

Addicted to Stamps and More challenge 'make your mark'

That's Crafty challenge 'keep it simple'

And last up here's a summertime card using an image from Joanna Sheen's 'Faye Whittaker' cd with strips of leftover papers from LOTV and Bearly Mine Designs.

I shall enter this in the following challenges

CD Sunday challenge 'sun, sand or sea'

Noor! Design challenge 'summer'

Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets'

Well the forecast for the next few days is wet weather so I'm going to have a sort out of all my digi stamps.... I decided that it's time I deleted the ones I won't use and make sure all the others are backed up on a USB stick and maybe I'll even get a few printed off and coloured while I'm at it.

Thanks for taking the time to pop by today and I hope you have a great week.

Embossing and a Heart

Hi everyone, hope you're all keeping well and emjoying the good weather if you're here in the UK. Not sure that my laptop is happy with all this heat though..... I can't use it for long before I have to switch it off and let it cool down so I'll keep this post short.

First off I've got a male card using a Uniko stamp 'Natures's Treasures II' which I heat embossed onto a 3 inch snippet of Neenah cardstock and then coloured with Memento inks. Then I cut it into three pieces and stuck to a card base with sticky pads and to finish I stamped a sentiment from HLS 'Mix Mash' set

I've made this for

Uniko challenge 'masculine with optional twist father's day'

AAA Cards challenge 'cas + resist technique'

Allsorts challenge 'male birthday'

Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets'

Crafty Purple Frog challenge 'make it manly'

Addicted To Stamps and More challenge 'make your mark and 5th birthday celebrations'

Time Out challenge 'photo inspiration'  (I was inspired by the green plants)

Up next I have a papier mache heart which I found in the back of the craft cupboard so I decided it was time to have a play. I used a Penny Black 'Jubilance' stamp (heat embossed) on one side and an image and sentiment from my Sarntangles set stamped on the other side.

This is for the following challenges

Country View challenge 'hearts'

Words 2 Craft By challenge 'keep love in your heart'

Cards Und More challenge 'antything but a card'

That's it from me for now, thanks for popping by and for taking the time to leave a comment.

Butterfly and Birthdays

Morning everyone. I don't know about you but when Mojo goes missing I look for challenges to help inspire me and my card today was inspired by themes of blue + white, bugs / butterflies, dies and last but not least birthdays. Two of the challenges are celebrating birthdays..... Penny Black and More is 7 and AAA Cards is 3.... Congratulations and 'Happy Birthday' to them both.

I stamped a Tim Holtz butterfly, coloured it with Promarkers and stamped a HLS sentiment from the 'mix mash' set. Then I used a die from Die-namics 'surf n turf' set to cut down one edge and stuck a strip of blue card behind so that it would fit a C6 card blank. I (accidentally) reversed the thin bit of the die-cut but luckily it looks okay. I've not added anything else as I want to keep it CAS and flat for posting, although I may add a touch of glitter to the wings - what do you think?

I've made this for the following challenges

Penny Black and More challenge 'anything goes'

AAA Cards challenge 'birthday'

Double D challenge 'blue and white'

Happy Little Stampers Dies challenge 'anything goes'

Passion For Promarkers challenge 'birds, bugs and butterflies'

CASology challenge 'insect'

Thanks for popping by and I hope you all have a great weekend

Sunday, 4 June 2017

As Mojo has done a disappearing act on me again I thought I'd start a sort out of my crafty cupboard and found this Hunkydory decoupaged topper, and a bit more rummaging produced some pink patterned card which was given a bit of texture with a dotty embossing folder. I used some cream card snippets to die-cut some butterflies and also a tag which I stamped a Penny Black sentiment on before tucking it behind the topper. Then after adding a few gems and some pink ribbon tied into a big bow I'd managed to make a card.

and this one shows the embossing on the pink card

I shall head over to the following challenges with this card

In The Pink challenge 'embossing'
Butterfly challenge 'L is for layers and/or the colour cream'
Pixie's Snippets Playground challenge 'use snippets'
Cute Card Thursday challenge 'bugs and butterflies'
Scrap and Craft challenge 'anything goes adding string/twine or ribbon'
Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge

and here's a quick card using a decoupaged image from the Joanna Sheen Giordano Christmas cd that I'd made up some time ago. All I needed to do was layer it onto some gold card and add a piece of Tattered Lace die-cut holly.

this is for the following challenges

Allsorts challenge 'christmas in June'
Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas challenge 'anything goes christmas + option winter fun'

Okay I'd better get back to my sorting out now as I've got all my crafty stash spread out over the kitchen table and Hubby keeps asking if it's waiting to be thrown in the dustbin!
